My parents used to have an attachment for our vacuum cleaner which would suck up mucus from a toddler’s nose when they were sick. They would use it on me and it legit gave me nightmares, I used to hide under the bed every time they bust it out. Horrific stuff.
Honestly, I would have paid for a pack that brought back garden weeding, the need to water vases with flowers, and the need to make your bed. I don't know why, but that would be amazing. And maybe bring back the sims 2 maids - they had so much more personality and fun than the maids in sims 4. So there would actually be a reason to have a gardener/maid/butler.
thiiis my favorite thing to make my sims do in sims 2 was to do the gardening looking after the bushes and flowers and in winter it was cool that you didn't have to so it felt realistic. there is a mod for sims 4 called home land and co, it also spawns wild animals and birds on your lot too which is cool. that does this but i just wish it was in the game normally
Well... Plant things in your garden and you WILL have to weed them, and water them, and spray insecticide.
Then, there is a mod that give you a land mower and the growing grass to use it.
that's not what they're talking about its not the planting/plants. it's like in sims2 where bushes/ flowers/trees and grass would overgrow and need to trim/cut them, the garden felt alive not just the things you've planted. and in sims 4 you do not need to water vased plants from the flower arranging skill@@Kualinar
I tjink the sims does need more housework but I dont think it should be packs i think more houseowrk coudl help with the overall lack of doficulity but people wont buy that dofficulity themselves

I never really had any interest in this or Laundry Day…I dislike doing both irl, and when people have it on in LPs it’s always a hassle. One cool feature with the little vacuum is that you can vacuum toddlers instead of giving them a bath, which would be awesome. Also, if you ask a Dust Bunny for gifts, if it brings you a plant/seed it grows instantly as “perfect” which is a fun little cheat.
Can they bring you a money fruit ?

Take a cutting and graft it to your best quality plant. Harvest that plant.
Plant another plant as close to the money tree as possible. Have a Sim with gardening skill level 5+ «Harvest all».
In both cases, look at those money fruits in the Sin's inventory.
Plant those harvested money fruits.
Create your own money tree orchard.

I feel like that Bust the Dust and Laundry Day are one of the few packs that actually add stuff to do to the game, so while they're mundane chores, I can't really fault them. And they're nice packs to have with a neat sim, because it's one of the few combos where a trait ACTUALLY impacts game play. My one guy will obsessively clean if things get dirty and starve himself near to death.
The one thing I hate about neat sims is that I can no longer tell when things are dirty! It’s cool that neat sims can clean when stuff is already clean, but I wish the interaction was renamed because if you use the rundown looking counters or the majority of the showers (including all tub-shower combos) it’s hard to impossible to tell visually if they’re clean or not. With non-neat sims I can just check if a clean option is available, but with neat sims… who knows? 🤦🏼♀️
@@bookcat123 That is a really good point! I hadn't considered that. But you're right, the neat sims get a cleaning option whether it's needed or not.

I LOVE Bust the Dust and Laundry Day, I hate cleaning and doing laundry irl but love it in The Sims
Bust the dust is actually one of my favorites, I tend to have it on for most my households, It doesn't work the best for small homes. You cant ever find a spot large enough to vacuum. I play with a lot of Family households. Teens can use the vacuums to gain responsibility. Also the handheld vacuum is meant for the furniture that already gets dirty in the game like a counter, sink, toilet etc. You can also use the handheld to clean your toddlers. Glad to see im not the only Sim player who likes the simple household chores sometimes XD
I don't think it's that people do or don't like simple play/chores- LOTS of simmers like that realism.
It's that the pack is quite broken, including the aspirations, the maid doesn't know how to vacuum, etc. And there's no broom, so it doesn't work with off the grid or just a homey aesthetic.
I was excited about this pack, but I find it extremely frustrating.
@@arghleblarghle yea, it has a lot missing still. but what it has I enjoy. I haven't had the maid bug tho, mine always pulls out a vacuum and gets to work.
I have to option to clean the toddler with it but then sims won't do it xd
the idea of using a hoover to clean kids is hilarious. makes slight sense tho, they can get crumbs everywhere and obviously on themselves quite a bit.

I like the concept of this pack I just don't think we should have to pay for these features. This is basic cleaning and chores that should be base game.
Honestly lot things should been base game but it is EA they love money
This is one those things that should just be base game with option to turn it off. It seems ridiculous to pay money to vacuum which from gameplay videos seems to get annoying super fast
Similar to pets and weather it crazy have to pay. I bit the bullet for pets vause i want my dog in game an season i got for holidays to have more events na actual passing of time. But i cant reason spenong money to vaccume.
It’s actually very nice to see you enjoying something about Sims 4.
This game drained too much of our sanity at this point, we might as well enjoy some aspects of it 😂

Gave up on the Sims 4 last year when their stupid lgbt+ update made all my pre created marriaged straight sims gay.
Funny enough, my gay sims were unaffected.

Idk why but I get the dust bunny’s fairly quickly and it’s so annoying lol. I am a neat person in real life so my sims is always cleaning. I miss how on sims 3 you have the “clean up” option which cleaned every aspect of the house. Washing dishes, making up beds, doing laundry. Any action that would include cleaning. This made it more realistic.
I bought this kit when it came out because it’s simple gameplay but it would help make my sims seem more real. I thought it would be super cute in a tiny home with a washer and dryer. Like, peak domestic gameplay
And then it didn’t work, or it worked too much. My sim is asleep and actually sleeping through the night? Nope, she has to get up and vigorously vacuum the potted plant in the corner. Talking to someone outside on the patio? Nope, she has to go inside and smell how clean the house is. The house either is a horrible dusty mess or sparkles more than Edward when he went to the Volturi. I don’t want dust bunnies, _but I also don’t want to kill them in such a brutal way._ Can’t they just poof away lmao But they’re also busted akdksnf Like, when James was playing with it, the bunnies could bring back expensive artifacts from Jungle Adventure but I think they fixed that a while back. I had a lot of performance issues when it launched. I have had it turned off ever since 😂
It's the deep cut Twilight reference for me. 😂 I usually love tedious chores in my farming/life sim games, but I also heard how broken the kit was. I'm glad I never got it.
Though now that I think about it, perhaps Bust the Dust and Laundry Day would have been combined. Makes sense to me.

But like Satch was saying, I think they really did fix this kit a bunch. I might activate it again when I play later to see how it works now. It also totally should have been part of Laundry Day but we know how EA likes to nickel and dime this game
The only major issue I've found with Bust the Dust is that if you have a small house/tiny home it can be hard to find a spot to vacuum. But if you have Realm of Magic, you can cast the cleaning spell on the floor and it has the same effect as vacuuming.

Been playing a save where im a scullery maid in a giant castle (thank you castle kit 🙏🙏) and both laundry day and bust the dust really add to my gameplay im ngl. Unpopular pack but i need it, just wish it had come with a broom option
Also no joke the handheld vacuum comes in handy so often in my 100 baby challenge it's stupid
I think it would be a GREAT pack if it came with a broom. So much of the Sims 4 is using your imagination, a vacuum can be super immersion-breaking. And I wish it could be off the grid.

And if you're on the off-the-grid lot, you can't do anything with dust. There're no brooms, fixed it with mod. (removed sparkles too)
That’s my biggest issue too. And if the dust gets really bad, it can catch fire. I got a mod that lets you use brooms. Now my maids sweep on off-grid lots too! 😂
Thanks for this review! It's the only kit I've ever bought with my own money (not getting it for free), and i actually love it! dust bunnies are so cute and past-time activities to fill my days are quite fun wierdly :)

I agree with this review! The only other thing that irritates me about this pack is that when it's time to vacuum, the sim does so and then puts the vacuum in their inventory for next time. I can't count how many times so far I have lost track of exactly which sim has the vacuum in their inventory so I can clean... which is very annoying if they are at work or something. So now, if I have more than one teen or adult, I have to buy a vacuum for EACH SIM! I wish they would just put the vacuum back on the blasted floor so it can look more homey. LOL
Oh the sims always did stuff like that. Even in 3. "Oh yes you could carry the guitar around sim. But it's supposed to be in this space until you need it sim"

At least EA added the option to turn it off in game settings. I recommend LittleMsSam's DTB mods. I think Carl has messed with the number of idle animations too tho.
With For Rent my landlord would get salty for common areas being dusty smh
I like this part of the game, everything that is more like real life, I really appreciate it.. also doing laundry and all of that...
I do like the idea of the pack and the actual vacuuming stuff, but there's an animation that would play EVERY time my sims walked up or down stairs with a corner, where they would pause on the corner and sniff the air. Like even if they were running from a fire or something, they would have to stop and sniff the air and sigh happily. It drove me mad!!

This is my favorite kit. I got it on launch day. My only issue was that my house was continuously dirty and fires would generate in inaccessible areas, and my house would burn down. So glad that glitch was resolved lol
The dust bunny is the reason why i NEED this kit.
I had a glitch where one sim was holding their kid started vacuuming and their kid just poofed into nowhere 😂 like theyd been vacuumed up
But honestly thats the chaos i crave from the sims
A few things to note about this Kit though. If you are on a lot that has off-the-grid, you can't use this Kit. The vacuum cleaner only functions with electricity. And you would have think that they, EA would do some cross pack functionality or something and give us a broom to deal with the dust whilst having off-the-grid turned on.

Thanks for the review! I am just about to get the kit (for the dustbunnys😂) but what is really missing in my opinion, is the ability to clean all the dust with just a simple broom! Just for fantasy or medieval gameplay that would be so good!
IF you are on pc there is mod that lets you use a broom - mizoreyukii functional broom mod. Helpful for off the grid lots. My biggest complaint with this kit is the lack of broom/mop for off grid.
this is really good to hear. I had held off from this kit ever since it came out because I heard it was buggy. glad to see its been fixed for the most part so i might consider it now !!
Hand held vacuum can also be used on toddlers, and possibly infants, to improve their hygiene need.
It may be the DLC with game play that is the LEAST buggy. Good to know.
It would be better if you can use the things from bust the dust and laundry day for profitable businesses such as cleaning services and a laundry shop,cause if it would happened, the gameplay would've been better and even fun to play with. I mean, having my sims do their chores is already fun but profiting it off made me even happier
im gonna be honest i like this pack for the little extra gameplay for my sims to do. I always make my mom sims do it and they sometimes wake up their kids and they get angry about it, creates a scenario lol. I love that houses get dirty so its something to look out for, I find the dust bunnies annoying asf and too common. it should be a rare occurrence because it just gets annoying most the times especially as the house gets dirty so often. I mod my game to be more realistic that's how I enjoy the game (i know some might not) but i find it more fun to have more serious / mundane things to do. having bunnies spawning all the time is just so annoying
i do wish there was more to it but it's literally the only kit i bought due to the gameplay. this should of been a big game pack with laundry day, this and even more gameplay I lovee micromanaging my sims and making them do chores which is funny because I hate it irl. I love having lots of options for my sims to do, they should of added like a laundromat business like sims 3, or your own cleaning business, cleaning sims houses and stuff like that. I really wish they added ironing boards and stuff like that too.

An annoying thing that happens if you get this pack is your maids will try to vacuum up puddles on your floor instead of mopping them up. Even if you switch the pack off, the maid still tries vacuuming puddles instead of mopping. And since you cannot vacuum up puddles, the maids will just keep vacuuming and vacuuming and vacuuming the puddle for hours until you go and mop up the puddle.
Oh no! I haven't had a maid in some time, so I did not notice that.
An additional feature of the handheld vacuum: You can use it on toddlers to clean them a little bit. The toddlers also gain fun from being vacuumed clean. For some reason.
the free pack backyard stuff pack has added some nice fun gameplay. i like it,
I got a toddler from the wishing well, the first thing I did was vacuum the toddler. Pretty cute, imo.😅
The buy mode and cas stuff added in laundry day is fantastic I'm happy it was a stuff pack and not a smaller kit. I just wish ironing boards were functional.
Thanks for the review. I love Bust the Dust and leave all the effects on. It's gameplay and I'm thirsty for more gameplay in TS4 so you better believe I'm going to utilize it. Yup, I use NAPs too. Give me more gameplay kits!

I love this idea but big off for me is missing of the brooms. I love off the grid gameplay and idea that I can't just sweep dust away with the broom is absolutely dumb.
I know right? We need brooms and dustpans as an option! And not for the sim to use it and put it in their inventory so no other sim can find it. LOL
I actually like this pack, but I do have a folder with mods that fix several issues mainly the sparkles. There’s also a broom mod for off the grid houses.
Ok, quick question, do butlers automatically vacuum? Because I keep running out of things to keep my butlers occupied.

To be honest, the only thing I care about is the build and buy. Not so much for the laundry aspect 😅. I love the fact that they implement a setting to turn off the core gameplay of this pack.
I do not own wedding pack but I heard that they change the wedding from base game one. Is it true? If so, they should implement a similar setting for that pack because I quite like everything except the wedding mechanic.

I don't mind the sparkle affects and I'm a console but I have laundry day and bust the dust and I'm about to save up for parent hood or spa day (don't know what to get.) and to make my gameplay fun I like making the house really dirty I remove the garbage bin and washer and then the sims can't clean.really fun to clean it again by adding stuff
I have Bust the Dust and it’s ok, but I would get a LOT more use out of it if they had included a broom option for cleaning. There’s already animations and meshes they could have used in seasons. 🤷 Also, I discovered that maids won’t vacuum (although butlers will). It’s very annoying.
I Really like this kit too. But I do need the mod to remove the sparkles, and the idle and the moodlet. Btw there is apparently 1 bug which is that your sim has 2 buffs of clean and dusty even if you're supposed to have only one of them. I use a mod to fix that if I want to keep the moodlet/buff

I am surprised by your positive review and I pretty much agree with you. What this pack does it does well. And the dust bunnies are real fun. And I don't even mind those sparkeles 😁Yeah, I am weird, I know, but really, it's not that big of annoyance to me. The only complaint I have is that kids can't use big vacuums. That makes no sense to me. Why limit kids to handheld vacuums? I guess in EA world of weird parenting logic this makes sense, but in my world it doesn't. But it's the only minus of this kit for me and otherwise, I like it, to the point I can tell it's one of the rare times I didn't regret paying the full proce of a kit.

One thing that bothered me, is that maids dont vaccun the house, so they come do their thing and the house is still dirty, idk if they fixed that, bc I just stopped playing ts4

The one thing I can't stand about Dust the... Bust the Dust is that if you have a smaller home and you don't have a big enough room for the larger vacuum cleaners, a dust vac is essential, as is an object that can be vacuumed with said dust vac. _Otherwise,_ sims will go outside and cancel the interaction if you ask them to use a upright vacuum in a room that's too small to use that sort of vacuum in.
What about the mean dust bunnys? (filth fiends, If the house is really dirty) that they can self-destruct to send home on fire if you don’t do something with them? I’ve Forgot about them when they’re were the basement then they started the fire. 😆🤣
The only real issue with the mod (outside the glitches) is that the they didnt add brooms for NATURAL off the grid stuff dust cleaning feature
my issue with bust the nut is that it adds something to the game that is detrimetral to the experience. kinda like the neighborhood action plans in eco lifestyle. It's there only to annoy you, so you can watch your sims perform an animation for 50 ingame minutes. And the kit comes with no clothing or furniture or anything, just one tiny, very insidious feature.
The idea of a gameplay kit has potential and it could definitely work, but they need to come up with something better than vacuum cleaners lol

Only proplem I have with Dust the Bust....if you play on a lot off grid you can't use any of the devices. There is no broom to dusting the bust.

If you have a tiny home it's near impossible to vacuum it. You need to have 4x4 tiles free.

For the longest time I wanted EA to put out a small pack of different chores. It's a moot point now considering I'll never give them another penny.
I love realistic gameplay but the sparkles annoy the hell out of me. This is the only thing stopping me from getting the pack at this point.
I'm just not sure that I want another pack that I need a mod to fix.
