@frankmacleod2565 SF is not a town genius it's a city. It was once a major tourist destination. Tourist malls don't close because of shopping trends that effect "towns". They close when people stop visiting due to crime. They close when they're losing to much money from pro crime politics.

@@mattb8754 thanks for the lesson genius, I was using the term town colloquially. Look that word up if you arent familiar with it. Malls are closing all over the country. Sounds pretty bad back east in trump country, nothing left but walmart and the big box stores. Empty malls, empty "towns" and cities and unincorporated communities all over back there. San Francisco is still a tourist destination, believe it or not. Tourists all over down there right now. The crime is outta control though, undoubtedly due to horrible policies, so in the case of San Francisco and these other hardcore leftist cities like Portland, they have to change those policies. @@HicSvntDracones Any explanation for why the move to online shopping has hit SF but not the rest of the world? It is disgusting the way you liberal shills keep trying to convince others that SF is no different from other places. The largest mall operator in SF has handed the keys back to the banks. The largest hotel operator handed the keys back to the banks the same month. The commercial real estate vacancy is by far the worst in the country and climbing. This track record is not normal. And it is not normal for people to have to tiptoe around used needles and poop to go about daily business, and it is not normal to be unable to park your car in the city area. The fact that you try to pass this off as happening everywhere just shows how immoral "progressives" are. Their DAs do not prosecute shoplifting criminals which causes retailers to lose money. This all happened FIRST. Now, people/tourists are voting with their dollars and their feet and choosing to avoid San Frans*@thole. They could have all kinds of retailers move into SF right now but that won't make tourists want to come visit. Who would have thought that decent, law abiding people wouldn't want to walk across feces covered sidewalks, visit retailers who are full of thug shoplifters who will probably steal your purse on the way out, and DAs who don't prosecute crime? if they want to bring more shoppers they need to bring in more police and security. Samthing for bart, no one is going to ride bart until you put police and security on-board and not just on the outside.

As business after business closes and leaves town while SF's leaders tell us things aren't as bad as WE claim, OR, that SF is rebounding, (from what?), the city continues it's collapse in plain view of everyone with common sense.
Peskin and the other "progrogressive leaders" continue to speak in platitudes, while never deviating from their agenda of totally destroying good governance, common sense public safety, and common decency.
SF is dying, but it will be reborn as a bastion of "progressive" ideals and democratic socialism.

Sad to see her go. My best friend bought her prom dress there... I bought my first pair of "adult" shoes there.
I hate watching what the residents have let their city become. We went in December because we still have a timeshare in the City, but that was our final trip. I do not feel safe taking my child to the city where I spent so much of my youth.
If anyone is interested in buying our timeshare at a "luxury mission district hotel," let me know. You'd be the first.

Currently $8g/yr with an option to purchase an extra week. We are probably just going to default and let them try to come after us. It'll cost more to sue than they could recover.
I am tired of hoping the city will return to sanity.

Timeshares are a big rip. I stopped paying mine and they hounded me for years but never got a penny. It took years for them to get the hint, but never took legal action against me. I think bc it’s not real ownership.

A friend was forced to close a storage complex in Tulsa after they stopped prosecuting theft of less than $950.
Thieves cut into storage units, on the rare occasions the cops showed up, they told the perps to dump
the stolen items on the ground and leave.
