Thank you for watching my first-ever solo offshore passage to Bermuda! This journey was an incredible mix of challenges and unforgettable moments, from navigating post-tropical storm Oscar to seeing dolphins along the way. 4 other boats left for Bermuda at that time, from Nova Scotia, including Spirit of Bermuda and many from the USA too. It seems that even Chris Parker was caught off guard by this storm. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Not exactly sure why,,but as a new sailor i found this to be very informative. In that hands on and visual was one and the same. Thank you...hope to see more.
Great seamanship, Mark. I am interested to know more about your sheet to tiller setup. I tried it myself (on my sloop) but never got it to work properly. Maybe special bonus episode on that?
The gimbal mount for the camera really puts the viewer on the boat; I appreciate the effort to capture that. Also happy to see someone make that run using only sheet-to-tiller... maybe you could show us the details of that sometime...?
That is the horizon lock feature on the GoPro which really works good. Now that I’ve really worked out my sheet to tiller arrangements, I definitely plan on documenting it in a future video. 👍🏻
fantastic and inspirational, so good to see beautiful simple well built wooden yacht not packed with gadgets doing a big passage, i appreciate your humble narrative too. thank you very much for sharing
Sleeping while solo is a very different experience, and difficult for me to express to someone that hasn’t done it before, and that was me before this passage.
It was quite a challenge at the time. I have gained greater confidence in the boat and what it can handle, and I’ve gained valuable experience as well.
@@eleutheros yes to all the above. i watched the video again and noticed that nothing broke in the gale, nor did she take on water. so you built her well. i am going out tonight for a pint in your honor!

fine looking boat! i never got used to sleeping on boat when solo sailing. the guitar is good, too. reef points would neaten up your furling...

this was a very good video, nice work. and please let me know what kind of camera was used the videography is absolutely stunning.
Smart jack lines ...assuming the handrails are through bolted. Love your videos Thanks!
They are through bolted, and thanks for watching! 👍🏻
Bravo! I’ve been waiting anxiously for this episode. Actually, filming this in something like “Super 8” would have been a nice touch.
Editing super 8 might be a bit of a headache though 😁
Good on you sir good on you and your boat Thanks for the video
Eleutheros really looked after me 👍🏻
👍
Oh yes what is your boat..shes a beautiful one.
She is based on Francis Herreshoff’s design 99, and is about three feet longer with a few other modifications.
you did it! i am happy for you. how does it feel?
