I love that expression "It looks like a Goods Growth Recession"
I think I know what his is meaning, but it kind of says a slow down in growth in sales of durable goods. But that implies being less positive, not negative? So would an actual Goods recession be where people sold their durable goods? Meaning that they were selling more than buying?
Hardly, it means that peak demand for durable goods post the Covid-19 period has passed. So, don't expect durable goods to increase in demand.
The only real "unreality" in forecasting is the National Election and it's result could dictate some policy shift. I don't expect TRUMP to win, but I don't expect him to lose. Meaning that I expect he will lose the popular vote and possibly the Electoral College Delegate count, but that will just spill over into a series of State Legislatures attempting to turn over the election and impose their own election results by naming another set of delegates. I wonder if Vladimir Putin will become a delegate from Alaska since Russian Political idiots like Medvedev say Alaska belongs to Russia.
That's what I worry about. Where will all this "Reality Denial" end up? Will Doctors say you need a surgery because they want to operate and they can just say so when you really could benefit from a change in diet and exercise? Sounds like all they have to do is make a plausible case medically for the insurance claim and get you to agree to unlimited personal liability for all costs.
Will CEO's just change the financials on their 10K just because they think or want them to be better? Will the degree of Fantasy Football leagues permeate into all human activity? People will just sign into their company website and check their emails and write a single report a day and call that a day's work?
What are the real numbers? The real numbers seem to be revised a month or so just after the last 'official" numbers were announced and the Market reacted twice to two sets of numbers for the same time period and the same metric.
It's like being married and having a marriage or another partner in another city.
To what extent will reality become so diluted with inferred "attitudinal" data that expresses hopes and dreams rather than facts?
I believe there is NO reason to aggressively cut Interest Rates, except to save the Federal Government Huge Interest Expenses on the repayment of Treasury obligations. That would be the only real reason to cut rates.
I think that the consumer (whoever that is) is better off now than in Summer of 2020 when a whole lot of service sector jobs and small employers shut down.

From my understanding, people are not buying homes at the same rate they have been, and to stimulat the housing market, a suggested strategy is to decrease the interest rate, by having a lower interest rate people could afford buying a home, however, there is another way for people to buy a home... Let the price of the homes come down to affordable levels in this market, for there is less demand so therefore the price is too high for this market.
I believe one major reason why there is a higher homeless problem is because they have been pushed out of the housing market or rent market because the prices became/were/are too high for them.
With more affordable housing you may slowly solve two problems with one strategy. By trusting the fundamentals of supply and demand.
Sooner rather than later, the mortgage cost will become cheaper than the rent.
