Poor Hannah never gave up her dreams of a better life and her untimely death was surely no accident.. 🤦🏻♀️ I am glad justice prevailed! Thanks BC💼.. as always..
For that reason, the constant striving to "do better" despite great hardship, I may well relate better to Hannah than to many other people described on this channel (I haven't had a very easy trip through life, either). That, in turn, makes her murder even more offensive.
That's one thing to be said for larger weddings - pulling off this sort of trick becomes a lot harder if you've got the witnesses to the marriage plus a slew of friends and relatives around.
poor Hannah, her entire life was entrenched in misery, when all she wanted to do was better herself. but life was so cruel. she comes across as so determined, and wanted to make it better for herself. in another life, in another world, she would have found love again, got the money to make her life a success and lived a long and happy life. but in this one, it wasn't meant to be

A particularly gruesome case this morning. Not sure if that's because I was eating my breakfast or not, but poor Hannah had a very unfortunate life despite her laudable efforts to be successful. Very sad and tragic.

How tragic for poor Hannah. All her hopes and dreams were for naught. I’m at awe at how good and thorough the police were back then on every single case you cover. Without all the glitz and glamour of the forensics of today they seemed pretty adept at uncovering the felon. Thank you Mr. Briefcase for another great Monday crime story. ❤
I suspect, though, that there were a lot of cases in those days that went completely under the radar. While bodies aren't all that easy to dispose of (at least, according to my reading, I haven't tried it for myself), time, isolation and scavengers can go a long way, especially if no one is actually looking for the body.

Thank you, BC, as always: a thoroughly researched and beautifully narrated story. Poor Hannah; she deserved some happiness after tragedies she experienced..... Mr. Greenacre was definitely a predatory individual. I wonder if his story of being widowed several times and mourning the deaths of his children was just a fabricated story to gain Ms. Brown's sympathy and prey upon it, or if there is a more gruesome explanation...
As soon as I heard his stories, I suspected that he had a hand in some or all of the deaths. Perhaps for insurance, or because he just couldn't be bothered with dependents.
Good morning Brief Case. This poor unsuspecting woman, believed everything this evil man told her and did what he asked her to do. How can someone be so cruel and deceitful and take advantage of another person this way? All she wanted was a new start in life someplace different and instead lost her life for believing the words of a man. I'm glad that the other woman was punished also, I'm pretty sure she knew what was going on and she obviously benefitted from the crime. Thanks for another great story Brief Case. Have a good one.
Since serial killers were not on the minds of authorities at that time, One has to wonder how many other people he killed, women he robbed or abandoned, or other children who died, one way or another.

So many people died at a young age back in the early 19th century so the fact that Greenacre said he had been widowed three times wouldn’t have aroused suspicion in Hannah and would have tended to inspire sympathy in her which it clearly did. In spite of Greenacre’s protestations of innocence he was clearly guilty, no one else had a motive and Hannah’s belongings were found in his possession so his failure to confess showed a total lack of remorse. The things people will do for money. Thanks for this case BC. Don't feel too sorry for Sarah. In 1837 two troopers from the NSW Corps were indicted for theft. They were later outed by fellow soldiers for planning to become convicts to increase their standard of living (You read that right. Convicts received their Ticket of Leave on arrival along with a paid job}. The soldiers once outed, were sentenced to serve their time in an English prison. In less than 40 years Australia had gone from completely unsettled to a society on the edge of known civilisation that could offer a higher living standard to the poorer and middle classes. Convicts even had Legislative Council representation and their own political party. So long as Sarah kept her nose clean, there's every reason to believe she could have done quite well for herself. The very hope of which was stolen from Hannah. Ironic. Wishing you and BCat a terrific week. I'm looking forward to next week's tale of darstardry and woe. 🕵♀😻

An infortunate "accident" right? At a moment's notice, right after Hannah sold all her belongings or entrusted them to the traitor... Of course, it's a natural accident, the destruction of one's eye socket with a weapon. You know, someone you'd be about to marry, at that. Duh, slapping someone accidently with the hand extended in the heat of the moment is obviously not the more natural scenario 🙄 Greeenacre, at the very least, didn't get to see the green acres of America and that is a very satisfactory thought.

They should have just made a death mask. That's what they did with a lady's body they found in the Thames. That mask was to go on to be used as a mould for the torso that's used in teaching first aid 👍👍👍
@@susiefoxy8130 no they weren't, they were just permanently traumatized and nobody gave a fuck
@@susiefoxy8130: You should look at the mental health of Vietnam War veterans before saying that "even in the 1960s/1970s people just got on with it". They didn't. Worse, they often inflicted further trauma on their spouses and children.
Ready set go. 🎉🎉 Hello everyone
I really liked this heroine she sounds like a lovely soul .what happened is devastating . Love you as always ⭐️❤️🇬🇧love Joyxx
Wonderful
Thanks for this case BC. Murder most foul!
Somehow i don't think that Hannah's death was an accident
An infortunate "accident" right?
At a moment's notice, right after Hannah sold all her belongings or entrusted them to the traitor...
Of course, it's a natural accident, the destruction of one's eye socket with a weapon. You know, someone you'd be about to marry, at that. Duh, slapping someone accidently with the hand extended in the heat of the moment is obviously not the more natural scenario
🙄
Greeenacre, at the very least, didn't get to see the green acres of America and that is a very satisfactory thought.
Thankyou 🖤 🖤
Very interesting although gruesome case poor Hannah 😢thank you BC 👏👏👏👏
Very interesting
Earring torn out of her ear. That made wince with a shudder BC.
Sorry Greg
