Poor dear lived a lifetime in such a short life! I’m pleased to hear a case that has so many loving family members willing to do their all for one another. I must admit that I said out loud ‘good!’, upon hearing of that evil monster’s death while imprisoned. Sarah’s family had suffered enough heart ache, they didn’t need anymore from James! 💔🍀
A cup of tea and Brief Case, a great way to start Monday morning. Poor Sarah, she had so much tragedy in her young life. Then she was killed by the man she loved and trusted. If that one doctor had just listened to her aunt, she might have lived. But maybe not, she might have already had too much arsenic in her system by that time. I'm glad he was convicted.
I wonder if he was trying to induce abortion of the pregnancy. The fact that this has gone on for some time and she had bleeding the week before death makes me wonder. Surely he could have administered a deadly dose much earlier.
@@GoodnightJLHOh, GOOD CATCH!! Thinking if he brought on stomach pains he could make her wretch so hard she miscarry... Weird though how he was showing al ok no intent toward Sarah Jane when he really was interested in Hellen was also very strange.
@@krissy510 And if so, Sarah may have been fully aware of what she was taking. Mr Britton was clearly suspicious of all the wealth Mr Eldredge claimed he had coming, while he exhibited all signs of being very poor right now. If something sounds too good to be true, it probably isn’t true. It is a good idea to be a little skeptical, when someone feeds you tall tales.
Hi!!! Poor Sarah. She sure had a sad life. May she be in Peace now... Its a shame what happened to her. Always look forward to your stories. Thanks...Nice Video!!!...🦋
That really WAS a chilling case, and all involved were so young... Also, despite the guilty verdict, the investigation seemed very sloppy. I mean, putting organs in a lead lined bucket which is often known to contain arsenic?? Also, the picture of Mr. Eldridge was quite telling. Acting "noble" while being a "nobody"... I wonder if his parents were present for his trial. And then to die in prison at age 21 from Tuberculosis.... I think he was very disturbed indeed. Thanks for bringing us another gripping case BC!
Tragedy comes in many forms, and this poor young woman, who had already experienced loss, ended up in this horrible manner, thankyou for a story well researched, and was so interesting to listen to 👍
Thank you BC: Always a treat to catch your stories, especially from north NY in the 1840s - makes me contemplate what my family members would have felt reading the accounts of cases during those days. Great works.
Good morning Mr. Brief Case, Sarah had lost so much by such a young age. It was good to know that she had family looking out for her well-being. this case was a little baffling because you had Edward, who claimed some money was coming then the next day Sarah gets sick, which does look a little suspicious. You find one doctor that doesn’t find any arsenic in her system but she’s eight weeks pregnant. you then have another Doctor that says that there was arsenic, and her organs show up contaminated. All of a sudden he’s found guilty and sentenced to die. So much has happened in this case in such little time that makes me wonder. if anyone had suspicion, why did they leave him alone to give her medicine? Edward is sent to prison and then dies two days later. this is one of the more baffling yet intriguing case that you’ve had. Thank you so much because now I’m going to discuss this with friends later and that’s what I usually do my friends when I get together and we discuss your stories. have a wonderful week and looking forward to next Monday Blessings 🙏🏽

Thanks BC. I think that a retrial would have exonerated him. These days, if sample contamination is even suspected the results are disregarded. Interesting case BC. The stories about people who have been tried by gossip and less than ideal forensics, always prick my ears.
It all depends who made the allegations. If the claims had been made by a defense witness that none of the jurors found at all believable, they still would've found him guilty. Likewise, if the claims had just been thrown out there by the defense atty in his opening or closing (which is never considered evidence) and no witness was ever produced to try and substantiate these claims, the jury also would've found him guilty.
wait a minute -- so dr. sherman kept sarah's organs in a bucket in her UNCLE's home? like, it was bad enough she'd been murdered, but then for some reason, instead of keeping her organs at the morgue or some other such appropriate place until they could be examined, they were placed in her UNCLE's care in his own HOUSE, under a BED? that's messed up.
I just want to point out the defence saying that the maid knew that girl had had her period before she died.....you can bleed when pregnant. There are still people in the world who don't know this. It is not a "period" but you can have bleeding when pregnant. So her appearing to have her period didn't mean anything to me. That girl was pregnant and he killed them both
I must tell you that I even thought maybe the aunt would have poisoned the young lady to get her inheritance. At this point however I felt Mr. Eldridge was the culprit.
