I bought this directly from Horizon Devices a few months ago. I did need to mess around with it a bit, and now I really like it. It adds something to make the gain just... better; the noise gate is a bonus too. I use it a lot.
A lot of distortion pedals are out their meant for metal, but this is one of the first drive pedals I have seen meant for modern metal tone and less of a rock tone.
Hey Misha! I (Jussi/rhythm guitar player) have been using this drive for over 1 year now and I just have to say it rocks! The noise gate isn't really working in our small practicing room/place, but in the gigs it works really well! And the pedal has so many dimensions that it even works with heavy folk metal genrish style :). Cheers!
I got a Japanese version. Freaked me out at first when I opened the package, but nope it's a real Precision Drive, just silver and in a different language. It works like a beast, so it's cool too 😊
jmcsquared that means someone who actually ordered the Tokyo drive is probably being shipped a regular precision drive. I ordered the Tokyo drive so hopefully I don't end up just getting the normal one.
jmcsquared haha that's true. My guess is they accidentally switched your order with someone else's before they boxed it. Lucky for you, but I feel bad for the guy who ordered a Tokyo Drive and got the regular one instead. I ordered a Tokyo Drive and it's coming in the mail tomorrow, so for all I know I could be that guy
Yes. It works ungodly well with Orange. I use exclusively Orange and Randall, it tightens em up to well. Orange takes this like nothing else. It's a permanent part in my high gain rig. Orange Crush 100 H - Phase 90 EVH - EHX Silencer - Tone City Angel Wing - Dunlop Mini Wah - EHX Metal Muff - Horizon Devices Precision Drive - Boss Super OD - DigiTech Whammy DT - Dunlop Jerry Cantrell Wah - 1960's Vox Cry Baby - Jackson Adrian Smith in D# or Drop C# or Ibanez RG in Drop B to Drop A. It makes such a tight tone. I recommend.
Why don't they make an amp which has the tone we are after with the addition of an OD but without having to buy one?? I assume I am missing some technical knowledge or else after all these years one amp manufactured should have solved this no?
4:23.........in in the point that idk if i dont need one...or im totally wrecking myself for one....just in Peru is impossible to find a girl metalhead....and most importantly...that says everything straight forward and 0 girly bullshit (ok....thats impossible to find right? meehhh, this pedal gonna fill the hole for couple months xd)
it took so much revision? I own the pedal and use it to tighten my rhythm tone, that being said, this is basically the same pedal as the variable attack overdrive but with the added noise gate and without the attack switch, I just don't think there is a need to lie/hype about how the pedal was designed, if it sounds good then it sounds good, even if its just a copy of an existing overdrive circuit. come on misha
The Way the Ad Goes
Misha's killing us with these ad's lmao.
Thanks for the 4:48 minutes ad that I could not skip and that went through my adblock.
I remember seeing this ad that got me into djent/prog and now here I am well versed in djent/prog ready to buy a precision drive
Misha could try to sell me a literal dog shite for £1000 and I'd buy it
Lol
God bless this post. I bought one and never looked back. It’s amazing.

Why Re-upload?
Kuroneko BFH Probably the tunes were too nasty
I LOL’d at “drop L”. Great ad!
Horizon needs to come out with an Amp Series

NEW SONG FOR P4?!!!!!

You shouldn't have gotten that unless you specifically ordered it. Did you order the Tokyo Drive? They're limited edition and only 1000 were made.
I ordered the Horizon Precision Drive and got one in silver with Japanese letters. It works like a mofo. That's all I know.
jmcsquared that means someone who actually ordered the Tokyo drive is probably being shipped a regular precision drive. I ordered the Tokyo drive so hopefully I don't end up just getting the normal one.
Guess they need more *precision* with their shipments.

just got it and gonna start recording soon
Does it go in front of the amp or in the loop
1:18 hate boutique stuff cuz BOUTIQUE PRICE
Would this help tighten up an Orange CR120H?

I love my precision drive pedal
I can't figure out why the gain knob is always all the way down on every demo???
I actually use this pedal with some shoegaze stuff. Y u lye 2 mi bulb?!
Misha's favorite settings at @2:58
That chuckle after the pedal sex creeped me the fuck out.
how would it sound with a Marshall DSL100HR...and heavy metal?
how good is this live though?
curious
Dat riff is TASTY
"Drop-L"... love it...
Had anyone used this through a marshall dsl 40cr ??
I buyed one and is awesome. I play death/grind, use a 5150 III and that combination is a tone beast.
Would it be good for thrash/death stuff too? I don’t tune lower than c standard/drop b.
Absolutely Brutal!!!!....

Profit that's why
If the amp needs an overdrive to sound good - it’s not a good amp
Please STOP the constant Pop Up. 20 a day. Too loud. Regrets.
Anyone use this on fender 5150?
great combo, go for it. Remember to dial back the gain on the pedal, because that 5150 has more than enough gain on tap.
Deja-djent?
Is this actually good
you are good salesman
Not true that it cleans your room, but IS true you won't need a girlfriend. can confirm
How about a fucking album .fuck man even a god damn single
That smile tho

Ya no necesito novia 😍
Get that fan boy money!
Tried this to clean my room, wish I had read the fine print. I demand a refund
Misha....you're drunk...

Don't need a girlfriend? WTF? Is that not the reason for being a musician anymore?
@Umbrella Corporation haha! Ok brother. They kind of go hand in hand for me.
@Umbrella Corporation hahaha! I get it lol!
Garbage riffs. Write something original.
