- Alex in Japan: Episode 7
Japan is a country famous for its beautiful landscapes, rich culture, and technological advancements. However, one of the things that I feel Japan doesn't get nearly enough credit for is its amazing driving roads. The country is home to some of the best driving roads in the world, attracting automotive enthusiasts from all corners of the globe.
Our adventure started in downtown Tokyo, where we rented two iconic Japanese sports cars, an R33 GTR, and an FD3S RX7. The feeling of driving these cars through the busy streets of Tokyo was an experience in itself. The sound of the engines, the rush of the wind, and the exciting visual of seeing one another through our windshields were all a part of the excitement.
Our destination was the Hakone Turnpike, which is a toll road that stretches for 18.6 km through the mountains of Hakone. The road is known for its sharp turns and hairpin bends, making it a dream road for sports car enthusiasts. We spent a fortune on tolls to drive on this road, but it was worth every penny.
As we reached the summit, we were greeted with a stunning view of Mt. Fuji. It was a sight to behold and one that we will always remember. We took a few minutes to take in the view and snap some pictures before heading down the Izu Skyline.
The Izu Skyline is another toll road that runs along the Izu Peninsula. The road offers a perfect mix of long straights and tight turns, making it an ideal road to push cars to their limits. We also linked up with a friend named Tanner and his red R34 sedan on the Hakone Turnpike, and the group of us drove together along the Izu Skyline.
Throughout the adbventure, we saw plenty of other automotive enthusiasts out enjoying the great roads and good weather. It was fulfilling to see so many people from all walks of life coming together to celebrate their love for cars.
For me, it was especially nice to be back behind the wheel of an R33. As an automotive enthusiast, I have always had a soft spot for this car, and driving it through the beautiful Japanese countryside was a dream come true.
In conclusion, our trip to Japan was an unforgettable experience, and the highlight was undoubtedly our drive through the Hakone Turnpike and the Izu Skyline. The roads were challenging, the scenery was breathtaking, and the camaraderie among fellow enthusiasts was electric. It was an experience that reminded us why we love cars and why we are so passionate about them.
If you are an automotive enthusiast and ever get the opportunity to drive on these roads, do not hesitate to take it. It will be an experience that you will cherish for the rest of your life.

Word up, discord kiddie, and honestly both are cool as hell, but a white r33, is my favourite 'cause it almost looks like it's a nintendo product lol

Absolute Touge Legends
The vibes were immaculate in this one. As you know I rented the FD right after Paul and it definitely was one of the highlights of the trip for me. That feeling of reaching out of the car to pay the toll getting change and a nod from the teller and accelerating off man I miss that as much as I miss Hot canned coffee on a cold Tokyo afternoon. Glad to see you guys enjoyed the Omoshiro experience as much as I did.
Glad you enjoyed it too! Truly unforgettable.. glad to have met you at Mobara 🫡

That's crazy I have the exact same thing planned for november this year, gonna rent an R34 gtr for one day and the EK9 type R for another, drive out to Mt Fuji and some fun roads. Cool to see a preview of what I can expect :)
Very cool! Have fun 🙏🏻
Cant wait for the next episodes! Could share your camera setup? Amazing shots!
We go over all of the gear we’re using in part 1 of the Japan series, a couple minutes into the video 👀✌🏻
Great video guys! Glad you got to enjoy your dream cars
Thank u for this
Sheeesh
It's impossible to rent those OMOREN cars for just 1 day, but good driving to make it out to Hakone, than Tokyo and to Yokohama. In America that kind of distance doesn't seem like much but over here it takes time from each place!
So many people hate on the R33 😢
Nice vidéo ! We saw a yellow DC2 !
