- Known for such comedy films as “Clerks,” director Kevin Smith earlier this year suffered a massive heart attack that was anything but funny. In his first interview since, he tells TODAY “I feel great: The heart attack was the best thing that ever happened to me.”

So glad he's okay. Fan or not of his movies, he's a genuinely cool guy.
Jeff Sorensen his movies lately have been pretty bad, but he is Hollywood's Little Brother 🙂
Yeah I watch Comic Book Men every sunday. Kevin seems like a cool guy. Glad to hear he's doing okay.
So glad he's ok. He's such a down to earth kind-hearted man. His movies helped a whole generation of outsiders by letting us know we weren't alone out there. He is a treasure and a hero, were lucky to have him. Love you Kevin.
And like a true good-guy dad, Kev makes sure to mention Harley's new movie. He's such an all around nice guy!

How can anybody not like Kev? He's such an upbeat, positive ray of sunshine in a world that's full of negativity. The dude is legit funny and actually very intellectual. I'm a big fan of him as an artist and performer but most importantly as a human being.

While I've always been a Kevin Smith fan in the past, the last few years in particular he is just as infectious of a personality as you can find. You listen to him ramble on and it's hard not to just find yourself smiling and being happier. Best of luck to his continued recovery and look forward to many more years of his ray of sunshine he provides.

Thank God!!!! I love Kevin and been a ridiculously big fan of his since the late 90's and a fellow Jersey boy and just saw him live and he is always funny! Its crazy how he can be funny all the time. Hope he stays healthy and lives long!

My Dad has been fighting heart disease for decades. Quadruple bypass, stents, valve work. He just had his 80th birthday. Having the finest doctors and care made the difference. He lives in Ottawa, Ontario. Yes, strangely, little Ottawa is a hub of superb cardiac care. Go figure.

I've been a big fan of Kevin's ever since I saw Clerks in high school around '95 or '96 (talk about dating myself). My friends and I can STILL quote lines from his movies to each other all day long like nobody's business.

Crazy.. The same thing happened to me. I had mine at 34. I had the same symptoms and it was the widowmaker.
There's been moments where Smith has frustrated me with his career choices because I know he is capable of better. But i am genuinely glad to see him like this and happy for him. Hopefully it leads to a rebirth in his writing and directing too.
Technically not his first appearance after the heart attack but it's great that Today brought Kevin on. He's seriously like one of the coolest most down to earth people period! :D
