Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas is one of my favorite Dreamworks movies. I hate that it didn’t get the credit it deserved. It’s one of those movies that makes you wanna care about the characters and it’s got a pretty good story
After the failure that was The Road to El Dorado, I think DreamWorks became scared of what sorts of movies they made. The fact they made a pirate movie where no one got sliced with a sword is painful.
I’m sure it would’ve got more credit if the movie was longer with more action and adventure in it with more monsters too. Also the ending could have been better. Since Sinbad is unable to kill Eris because she’s a god, here’s how she would be defeated. I would put Zeus, poseidon, and Hades into this movie. Instead of killing her Hades takes Eris back to the underworld as punishment for her crimes where she will spend all eternity. Here’s another idea the rest of the greek gods turn Eris into a mortal and her powers get taken away from her forever and they destroy her powers. Sinbad has her be a servant on his ship and makes her clean the deck. The dog licks her and gets annoyed and grossed by it. Eris scrubbing the floor on Sinbad’s ship. Sinbad: Say Eris you missed a spot
I have to say that as a kid and even now i still love this film and the final scene of sinbad getting on the chopping block with everyone watching, the music and all that still get to make me tear up even to this day ^^
This was a great a movie it has everything you could ever want. i wish they did a sequel or two I would loved more adventures with Sinbad, Marina and the crew of the Chimera!
Small details missed in the opening scene. -when Sinbad gets dragged overboard and begins to drown Proteus tries to dive after him (showing his loyalty and faith in Sinbad to foreshadow his later trust in him to come back. - When Eris crosses her heart with Sinbad’s dagger she floats it in front of Sinbad as if to give it back but makes it disappear in smoke and keeps it to plant later on when stealing the book.
Watched it as a kid thought it was great and I thought most people enjoyed it. But low and behold it was underrated, and I think, how??? And why??? Good grief I feel like an archavist for forgotten good movies.
This is top 3 Dreamworks movies for me. First being Prince of Egypt, Second Spirit stallion of the cimarron and third is Sinbad. My top moment in movie is definetly when Eris frozes the Island second moment when they hook up to that seamonster and very cool very epic music starts to play
I had an absolute and total OBSESSION with this movie when I was young. I watched it like 20 or even more times. I don't even know why, everytime I finished it all I wanted was to watch it again. I kinda feel the same way about Puss in boots 2 now
The book likely puts a damper on how much hell Eris can raise. With it in the way, she can likely send a sea monster or two at most, but with it out of the way, she can let loose with some real catastrophes
I have to say my least favorite part of this movie is the romance I think we could completely throw that shit away and focus on the bromance that they set up and then through the fuck away for no reason other than like hey we can't have Sinbad be gay you guys even if it's implied gay
I actually remember seeing this movie with my family. We were, unfortunately, one of the few in the theatre. It's a real shame because this movie is fantastic.
One of many movies that summed up my childhood 😎 Seriously I used to watch this movie nonstop everyday before going to sleep! And my sister has a crush on Sinbad, lol
Here's to the hopes of sinbad 2 coming to theater if someday it happens or at least a directo dvd Probably long forgotten by dreamworks but one never knows if they might
I never really found this movie engaging. Sinbad comes off as sleazy when he's supposed to be charming, and Marina's feelings for him took a 180 the moment he "lost" against Eris. Not to mention they spend more time traveling than anything, and they stay in Tartarus for a short period, along with the fact that the supporting characters are just there for humor over substance. Pessimistic male leads are so common, I'd have loved one with an optimistic lead like Proteus--but less naive; he put WAY too much stock in Sinbad and we never see why that is; we get no flashbacks, and Sinbad says straight up that he wouldn't bargain himself for Proteus' life in the beginning. I'm curious to see how differently this would've been had Disney accepted the idea with the original writers.
I love those movie, but one gripe I have with it is Marina is an ambassador. What happened to her other responsibilities at the end? Were none of her own people looking for her? There has to be some political blowback from a diplomat just dipping
I realize this may be a bit controversial to post on a video praising a certain movie as an underrated gem but... I just can't like this movie. I loved it so much as a kid, but after revisiting it recently, it's just such a weak film when compared to a lot of other things Dreamworks have created.

I agree.

I know tbh I feel Sinbad is the weakest 2D animated movie in DreamWorks
Best childhood movie next to sam raimis spidermans and spongebob the movie

Any kid that saw Simbad remembers it.
I have watched it today and i did stil remember things
Watched it as a kid thought it was great and I thought most people enjoyed it. But low and behold it was underrated, and I think, how??? And why??? Good grief I feel like an archavist for forgotten good movies.

as someone named Marina i laughed so much with how you said it the first time hahaha I love this movie
I had an absolute and total OBSESSION with this movie when I was young. I watched it like 20 or even more times. I don't even know why, everytime I finished it all I wanted was to watch it again.
I kinda feel the same way about Puss in boots 2 now
I always get goose bumbs when I hear the opening theme.
The book likely puts a damper on how much hell Eris can raise. With it in the way, she can likely send a sea monster or two at most, but with it out of the way, she can let loose with some real catastrophes
Always LOVED this movie, glad you're bringing attention to it
It’s not a pirate though
i remember i had this movie! cool review and cool throwback!!
Man I want to live in Syracuse
Even now I wish more movies like this were made, it's such a beauty
Sorry to disappoint you, but I saw the movie in theater and my parents even bought the VHS* 😎👍👍🖤🖤🖤🖤✨
I watched this with my family years ago it's amazing
jason and the argonauts and the old sinbad movies are ultimately the best
Caught it on TV on a Sunday in the summer and it was one of the best animated movies i had ever seen as a kid. and to this day, actually.
I have to say my least favorite part of this movie is the romance I think we could completely throw that shit away and focus on the bromance that they set up and then through the fuck away for no reason other than like hey we can't have Sinbad be gay you guys even if it's implied gay
Thank you for showing some love to this underrated masterpiece
I remember going through my family's DVD's and the watching this fully.
I've always loved this movie
Il love your editing! It's brilliantly hillarious
Hey, I just want you to know I’m enjoying almost every second of this video and its references.
I just came here to say: I Agree!
I actually remember seeing this movie with my family. We were, unfortunately, one of the few in the theatre. It's a real shame because this movie is fantastic.
It was almost as if their love story was showing the duality of Sinbads morality and conscious want to be seen as a lover for their friend
The score of this movie is so good
One of many movies that summed up my childhood 😎
Seriously I used to watch this movie nonstop everyday before going to sleep! And my sister has a crush on Sinbad, lol
Wow, what an awesome review! Thank you
A friend of mine named Ahmad said that "underrated" means "good", even the films that get lots of recognition he calls them underrated.
This movie was just amazing!!
I just saw it last year, and i love it
Great recap got me laughing with the editing😂
Doesn’t Marina look a bit like Eris?
Here's to the hopes of sinbad 2 coming to theater if someday it happens or at least a directo dvd
Probably long forgotten by dreamworks but one never knows if they might
i saw this summer of 03 & it was awesome i had no idea that it did terrible
Fun video. Keep up the good work ❤️
So underrated
I would love to stay and watch this but the use of clips from other media really annoys me.
Animated pirate movies? What about One Piece films Red and Stampede?
I never really found this movie engaging. Sinbad comes off as sleazy when he's supposed to be charming, and Marina's feelings for him took a 180 the moment he "lost" against Eris. where is the claymation?
No claymation. 3D animation used in those constellation monsters
MaLina means raspberry
I love those movie, but one gripe I have with it is Marina is an ambassador. What happened to her other responsibilities at the end? Were none of her own people looking for her? There has to be some political blowback from a diplomat just dipping
if i watched this as child i probably would've loved it,but i just watched it the other day and i thought it was just meh..
It was stil entertaining right?
Sinbad isn’t a pirate he’s an Arab merchant from Iraq who dealt with pirates demons and stuff
I liked the video until you started "singing" lol
good video but chill out with the edits it was getting kinda annoying towards the end
I realize this may be a bit controversial to post on a video praising a certain movie as an underrated gem but...

👎
