What It's Like Attending IMSA At Canadian Tire Motorsports Park (Mosport)

- Back in the summer of 2023 I purchased a camera to record at the track content for the Honda Indy Toronto. The week before that race I attended the IMSA race at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park and filmed a bunch of footage to get used to the new camera. I wasn't going to use this footage originally, but decided to put together a video to share my experience at the track. Hopefully this will make you want to attend a race IMSA at CTMP or at any other track, as the fan experience is some of the best in all of professional motorsports.
This was my first ever attempted at filming anything like this, so I know it's not the best. But we all start somewhere right? Hope you enjoy the video :)

One thing I found is how small those prototype cars are next to the GT cars..
As to fan access to teams I encourage you to try NHRA..its great..just bring hearing protection..I enjoyed this great video.
I’ve been to Long Beach for the Indy/IMSA weekend and would definitely recommend that. Laguna Seca was also cool, but damn that trek up to the corkscrew from the camping area is significant! Beautiful views. The Glen and Daytona are next on the list for me. I’d also like to go to Sebring or Road Atlanta.
I wish IMSA would give the video broadcasts access to the team comms like WEC so we could follow the strategy calls (like you can with a radio scanner at the track.)
I was at the Rolex last year for my first IMSA event, and want to go to Watkins Glen this year. These are really good vids for getting an idea of what to expect, keep these up
That's awesome. The Rolex is a bucket list race for me. Same with Sebring. I'm planning on going to Watkins Glen this year as well.

Amazing footage man! CTMP is an amazing racetrack and should I make a trip to Toronto(Which is the next city I want to visit in Canada after Victoria, BC) the week of a major motorsport event at the track, I’d love to watch a race there someday! I would like if it was for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series(Which should DEFINITELY make a return someday), but I wouldn’t mind if it was IMSA either.

Yes, definitely more content like this! You did a really good job covering the event and all its intricacies up to and including preferred parking on the VIP ticket. Nice!! Yah, definitely more like this and don’t be too hard on yourself concerning your new camera and filming skills. It looked fine to me. Should you ever attend an NHRA drag racing event, you’ll find it is very similar in regards to driver/race car access.🏁

Great video. I've been attending races at CTMP since the 80;s and always recomend people attend. You get all that great access to cars and drivers at ALL races at this track. The vintage race in june is awesome as is the Victoria day races. The weekend camping is the best value

Looks fun. Being in Iowa my options for going to a circuit are pretty limited to local dirt tracks or the ISA (which i go to every year)
However im hoping to go to Watkins Glen or Rolex eventually. Really liked the video, gets me hyped up for race season
This is awesome, love to do an IMSA/indycar event one day, thanks for showing this. You get this sort of access at BTCC and British GT events, BTW. If you're ever in the UK highly recommend it.

Yeah you can. Its awesome. If I remember correctly a ticket for the three day weekend was $60. But who knows how much it will be in 2024.

Man, that looked awesome! I can't believe how much access they give you. I've had VIP pit passes for Nascar races before and you could hardly go anywhere or do anything. I definitely want to attend an IMSA event now.
Yeah its very cool. Everyone is a VIP at a IMSA race when it comes to paddock access.

I was lucky enough to attend a ALMS race a few years back and the track is truly amazing!!
Mid Ohio, especially up by china beach was a sight to see with these cars back in 2022. And the paddock access was a motorsports fans wet dream. My snapchat is full of photos and an amazing Juan Pablo Montoya story 😂😂. Bro commented that I smelled like weed and that weed made you make dumb decisions and without missing a beat I said is that why you blew it at Indy in 09?
