I realized a bit that this came off that I didn't particularly like the jacket which isn't quite accurate - to make it clear, I do think it's a good jacket and it does it's job well. I do think there are some things to keep in mind which I outlined, but other than that I do like mine and do still use it. Make sure to check out the written review down in the comments to get the full scope of my thoughts :)
Thanks for your feedback on this Julian! You're a well versed fencer with experience all over the world. Your review means a lot. I like the poof personally since I want to be able to wear this to reenactment events. I wound up getting the 350N version and after hearing your thoughts on the 800N I'm glad I did.
You can change it to 350n yeah. It's padded, though I don't believe there are additional foam inserts in this version that I got. Maybe they've updated the design since I got this though.
the torso length issue? I think that was just a miscommunication with production where I gave them the torso length, and they took that measurement and applied the torso & skirt to match that length, instead of torso length + skirt being extra. I don't see that being a problem with standard, if you're going custom I would just double check. Though, hopefully by now that bug is out of the system on their end.
@@HEMASimian thanks for the reply, iv'e read and watched a lot of reviews of this jacket and its seemed to fit my needs (and LBR wants) in a H.E.M.A jacket that is highly protective and agile (and looks cool), but was concerned after you mentioned the sizing issue. also i saw in some of your sparring vids that you have the supfen Plunderhosen. people say that its also protective and agile but i wanted to know your thoughts.
@@knighty6y744 due to the weight of the jacket I wouldn’t really call it agile, but that may be how you define agile. It has full range of motion in it though so your movements aren’t physically restricted. But I do get tired faster wearing this jacket compared to a lighter one. The length issue I feel was more of a mistake than a systemic issue. The plunderhosen are decent, they come with internal pockets to add foam for padding, but I personally took all that out because I find it was bulky and since the thigh is one of the biggest muscles in the body, I didn’t see the need. The range of motion in them are great, I’m planning on getting a review of them out at some point in the near future.

I'm thinking you could have them make it in 350N.
This is armoured with foam inserts right?

Getting the poofy arms soon, glad they are very poofy! Would be disappointing if they weren't that poofy
Update: Got the poofy gambeson and poofy pluderhose, very happy with both! Solid protection, and extra poof!
Does the length problem occur in standard sizes or just with custom
