@@thisguy2973 I saw that no one has replied to you yet so thought I would. I've had mine for about 5 years and it's still holding up great. Only the stickers have peeled off. I've read that a common issue is that the knobs are cheap and a lot of people replace them but that hasn't been an issue with mine. It really just depends on how rough you are with it. Dave Knudson says in an older rig rundown that he has had to replace a few of these.
@@CristianSurvive1 so I bought a MkII six months ago and sold it. I’m just at a point where I want a simpler 3-4 knob type pedal versus all the toggling to different modes. Just not for me
Yes and no?? Hahahaha... we filmed this one before the tour actually started, but we have already been in touch with Mr. Reinhart and we're gonna film one with TM when they headline in Nashville in late November. We're stoked!
Sleeper on this board is the Boss PS3... That is an ass kicking versatile piece, delay and pitch shifting. Add expression pedal and you get the whammy...
The power required for just the timeline, 3 DL4s, and the whammy….that’s like 5Amps!! If that and tbe amplifiers are all going to the same 15A circuit, I foresee tripping the breaker lol
Four Tet is Caribou! Or was. Which means Dave is as old as I am. I use the dl4 in very different way. It's a great pedal. I just wish they would make a deluxe model with quiet, momentary switches. With actual switches and not actuators. I'd pay an extra $50
It’s funny how today we have revered pedals like the original echoplex known for sounding incredible and lush but being famously troublesome and difficult on the road, not unlike the now famous DL4 units. Also, like the echoplex, the dl4 colors the signal path even while off, albeit in a digital way, users of that pedal found magic in it. I don’t subscribe to the golden age adage, I think people, like gear, are constantly evolving, especially aesthetically, so things that were once considered passé like digital delay and lofi sampling and bit conversion now have a nostalgia for us just as I’m sure is the case with traditionally considered vintage gear...
you’ll need like a 5A power supply, each pedal needs 1500 mA. It is true that the dl4 works with less ampers than what the pedal says it needs, but I never took the risk to make it run with less than the needed
Usually when you switch from one preset to the next, it carries over the previous sound "trails". So if you have sound on sound mode in preset 1, then go to preset 2, the loop you made would still play until you move to the next preset.
Would be fun to jam with this guy. I’m a drummer and percussionist and guitarist, so I could relate to this guy. Ps, I want that song at the beginning to be on a “minus the bear” album.
Heh! My "FX chain" was chorus pedal, distortion pedal, and a volume pedal. Chorus stayed on all the time, volume pedal was a minus 10db passive when it was open. Close it up with the distortion on? +10db boost for breaks! I was in a pretty punky band then, though :) Before that - in my little grebo/hair rock band, there was a flanger in the chain, after the chorus, but it was solely for playing "She sells sanctuary" :) These days? No FX. Just me and my acoustic bat :)
Random internet troll: you don’t need a huge pedal board. You’re never going to use half those pedals.
Minus the bear: hold my beer.
This made me laugh heehee 😁
i know Im kind of randomly asking but do anyone know a good site to stream newly released movies online?
@Finley Oakley I watch on FlixZone. You can find it on google =)
@Malik Jase Definitely, have been using instaflixxer for months myself :)
You surely meant: Hold my bear :)
Dave is an awesome and creative composer.
Dave Knudson is the guitarist David "The Edge" Evans aspired to be. Times 10.
Never been so excited for a Rig Rundown

0:40 HOW COOL IS THIS LOOPING!!!!! now i am off to play with my DL4! that stutter thing is killer i am going to try that first!BYE.
thanks will do!
Just curious because I want one: how old is your DL4 and how has it held up?

I love this band so much
The final Minus the Bear rig rundown.
:(
Just amazing dude and musician
I was so inspired by this! Thanks so much! Never heard of him/them before.. Awsome - now I know what to do with my dl4 :D
Most of those pedals definitely would go under the category "used". XD
I like that John Prine shirt! that album is really good
2018 - Hey want a Helix?
MTB - Nah bro, DL4 all the way....plus dead cheap.
DL4 is cheap!?!?
Does this mean we’re also getting a Tera Melos rig rundown too?!?

Aww...so no Caspian rundown either...
Unfortunately, no, but we certainly dig them - www.premierguitar.com/articles/23411-caspians-philip-jamieson-and-calvin-joss-sonic-sculptors
Besides the compression what other pedal was he using when he was tapping? That sounded sick!

They put the full episode on their website first then they will upload it on RUclips about a week later...

Wow, how can you use two presets simultaneously in the boss dd 20?
Usually when you switch from one preset to the next, it carries over the previous sound "trails". So if you have sound on sound mode in preset 1, then go to preset 2, the loop you made would still play until you move to the next preset.

Dave uses floor pedals like Matt Bellamy uses on guitar effects.

Chop and screwed? Not quite. Minus the Bear is also not sippin that syzurp
All beautiful, but what about the routing? how signal is routed on those DL-4? missing very important information
Do the dl4 could have stereo dual discrete processing?
I love the DL4, I hate how shitty their quality i though. I'm on my 4th DL4 over the past 7 or 8 years.
I have had the same DL4 for 10 years, monthly gig, weekly band practice. Are you pouring beer on them after dropping them onto concrete from the roof?
