I bought the Air 2S. As my business grows, I don't currently have the cashflow to justify the Mavic 3 Pro. But I'm really happy with it, and its ability to take 5.4K video allows me to punch in while editing and get crisp close-ups like what you are showing around 9:50. My drone is still a safe distance away, but I use pan & zoom in the editor and can still deliver 2K or 4K videos that look razor sharp. Poor man's substitute but looks GREAT.
Indeed can D J I stop releasing new drones and wait till next year to release a BIGGER better one with new tech. EASA is not friendly to these insane weights that DJI are throwing out at us. I'm still paying off my DJI Air2S ... And more than often I'm using my DJI Mini2 as it's ready to fly straight away on powering up.
I went to order the Mavic 3 Pro but DJI won’t sell it without forcing you to buy the RC remote, which is disappointing. 75% of the time I fly around San Diego, I need the flexibility to quickly unlock restricted zones and overcome airspace limitations, which isn’t possible with remotes that don’t use your phone. I’m always surprised why this isn’t talked about more.
I use the RC Pro remote with my Mavic 3 Cine and often unlock zones using my phone. Since my remote connects through the phone, the unlock process usually completes in just a few seconds. Honestly, I’m not entirely sure how the process works-it’s been seamless right out of the box!
You have hit the nail on the head with the construction argument - I shoot a lot of construction and it's so much more satisfying to get 'closer' without distracting the workforce
Those longer focal lengths really allow you get more creative with your shots. Great video showing off the versatility of Mavic 3 Pro. All without having to land and changes lenses. Thanks for sharing.
Billy, excellent explanation of three FIXED focal lengths. You know how to clearly communicate that digital zoom reduces quality, and this drone allows you plenty of options. Bravo.
Great video! Can you do a video to show us how your color grade your footage amongst the different camera's in order to get a balanced color look? Thanks! 😊👍🏼✨
I have a Mavic 3 pro, I am also a photographer and have shot with many cameras and formats at this point. While the mavic 3 pro's cameras are clearly a big improvement, all 3 cameras with the exception of the 3x in 48mp still mode are beaten by my iphone 13 pro in terms of artifacting, color space and sheer quality. I am happy with its capabilities especially the tracking and AI features, I just expected slightly better camera quality.
couldn't agree more. M3P is all time favorite! Although, the Air 3 might be a nice alternative as well, being smaller, lighter, and still offering two cameras.
I’d love to see them put a integrated version of the X7 on the Mavic 4… maybe with a slight optical zoom ability. I do love the biggest sensor I can put up there. Cheers billy.. PS finally got an Avata this week and the explorer combo.. learning to take a steady diet of Dramamine.
Great review! Than you! The colors look great from the 3 cine. I’m switching next month from the air 2s to the 3 cine. Can’t wait to use the zoom here in Las Vegas! That will be a game changer for me since the strip is controlled airspace.
Hello Billy, thanks for this video. It is very detailed re the use case for the 3 cameras. As it relates to thr hyperlapses, whats your typical length of clips and interval?
I'm still getting great footage with Mavic 3 Classic! If I want to punch in I can do that in post. The 4/3" sensor is incredible! Now, if DJI gives us that sensor combined with variable aperture and optical zoom..... Take my money! Until then, I'm good. Just my 2 cents.
i am glad you pointed out some drawbacks.... unlike most of the other youtubers. However, from a real world application, the 7X camera is almost useless. the quality is terrible, especially since you have to use a standard color profile. The 3x 48MP camera is just a gimmic. It's not useable in professional work. While switching between the 3 cameras is cool, it takes too long to switch. Something about the RC remote and the lag. Maybe they can fix that in the future fw releases.
did you actually rotate around that boat or just catch up and cross paths? trying to figure out you would have sped up to it and rotated around it so smoothly (not digging you your skill but rather trying to figure out how you would even do that with the controls).
Should have been a zoom, why isn't anyone talking about that. The Mavic zoom was a great drone and allowed you to chose a range of focal lengths. Not the manufacturer telling you what lens you should use. The Mavic 3 pro should have been a zoom with a range of say 24mm - 75mm. With the size of the three camera body you would think they could have done something with that gorgeous large sensor on the main camera. But you never know what's around the corner with DJI to keep us spending our money.
THIS RIGHT HERE!!! Why can't DJI just listen to their customers already and get it right. If they can make 3 different versions of the M3, why can't they make one with an optical zoom?! Or is there the Mavic3.5?🙄
another topic, but making the road larger ends in having more traffic jams. this might sound counter intuitive, but this is the "rebound effect" (not sure of the translation in english).
Hi Billy Super fine video. I have the have the Mavic 3 Pro first and I realy so Happy for it. But if it have variable Aperture on the 70 mm. it wood be even more better. Thanks for one more good video and Yes the cam. does it posible to pull the background in and gives posibility to make clip thats stand out. 🙋♂️
Is it possible to design a hyperlapse waypoint mission using the mini 3 pro, save it, then transfer it to the mavic 3 pro? That would be great because you could use the mini 3 to do the grunt work of designing the shot and just use the precious battery life of the mavic 3 to capture it.
With the regulations in the EU the magic 3 pro is sadly not a winner because you are too much restricted in what you can do. You're far better with the Mavic 3 Classic in the C1 class under 900 grams.
I bought the M3 Pro after using an Air 2s for 2 years and I havent regretted that choice. Its a massive leap for me in terms of options but also flighttime and especially the RC Pro which I opted for :)
@@greatsaltlakephotographyll6237 I think it matches the Mini 3 Pro but with a different glass in front. The Air 2s is a 1" sensor from what I remember.
This drone is so overhyped. It had so much possible potential with the new 360 sensors, extended battery life, new main camera sensor, AppleProRes, but with no DLog on either zoom lenses, very mediocre image quality coming out of those zoom lenses, and the missed opportunity for variable optical focal lengths like on the Mavic 2 Zoom, the entire Mavic 3 line is such a disappointment and a money grab. I film on both the Mavic 3 Cine and the Air2S, and I still find myself filming on the Air2S more. Save your $, don't even bother with the Mavic 3.

I'm going to get the Pro but hate 'already seeing' the quality without getting the drone.

Optical zoom ftw. Mavic 3 is such a letdown.
Nice examples of using tele lenses. Do you find any drawback to their smaller sensors? I still don’t find that much use to justify the cost.
That boat shot was AWESOME!

i thought M3 line would have someting like M2Z. The best would just be like 4/3 with a 24-75 like you said OR a 24 to 75 and a 75 to 175 idk.
Zoom lenses have worse image quality. But it would be great if there were a variant that had a zoom lens
