Brendan Fraser discovers his great-great grandfather was fired for striking, and responded by shooting at the man who replaced him in the job! It appears that no criminal case was ever brought against the man, an Irish immigrant making his way in the turbulent Pennsylvania coal mines.
Brendan Fraser is one of the most acclaimed actors of his generation with roles in films such as Encino Man (1992), The Mummy trilogy (1999-2008), Gods and Monsters (1998), Crash (2004) and most recently The Whale (2022). Fraser's starring role in The Whale earned him the Academy Award for Best Actor, becoming the first Canadian to win this category.

As a kid who grew up without cable TV, I watched a lot of PBS. Coming back to it, PBS is so comforting and wholesome.
Look we ALL have family members in the past that did things we would look down upon. As for his grandpa he likely has a gun on him at the time and impulsively shot.

I love Brandon Fraser. This is pretty cool. Ancestors are able to show us where a lot of our tendencies come from.
Pbs is our national treasure i truly believe that. Nobody does such thorough programming like PBS and all its affiliates across the United States. And I'm truly grateful to my late mother for turning PBS on for me as a little boy and for making it sure it stayed on my whole adult life

I just discovered this show i'm sitting in the hospital right now I had quite drupo open heart surgery A few months back and nothing has been right since from my health

What a great site I’m so glad I came across it … I was a child outa marriage so as Irish descent I was adopted out have just sent of my dna so will b interestin to see back down the line where it’s gunna take me ….. will b neat to get a connection above me as I only have connections below me …. But there will b a whole heap of new branching out to b got n if I ever get reincarnated I could do my dna again n mayb it will take me back to where I was b4 as-in now …. Just like the only present moment is now ….. n in the words of Bob Marley ….. One Love ❤

Why is that sad? Considering that many people of the time lived with family members, or in a boarding house, or rented a house, to own your own home was indeed an accomplishment to be proud of. In fact, in recent years it home ownership has become increasingly out of reach for many and it is still the American dream they are working toward.
@@patriciawarner9680 because shelter is just a basic necessity... you woul dthink that a great country their people would aspire too amazing things and like spend their short time on this planet gaining something else other then a a house a basic necesity of life ... Never made any sense to me . And honestly if you are still payiong property taxes on it for the time " youwn own it" do you actually OWN it ? nope
so all those students debts the government " forgave" how about they forgive my "Mortgage debt" or my " property tax debt"
@@neoanderson726 I agree with you that basic shelter should be easy for general wages (plus free for those who just can't manage). But I also think it's sad that owning something was an attainable reality until very recently and it's not any more.
I actually prefer to rent but that too is crazy how much everything can go up. Full-life renters -- who CHOSE that -- were common when I was younger. But then there were also full-life landlords only charging enough to cover their own work and expenses and not soaking every nickel out of tenants for no services.

@@JW-vd4il we need to get rid of rent subsidies ... if they got rid of those then rents WILL come down to match what people can afford to pay OR landlords will have a ton of empty apartmenst
If the man who took the job was Irish thats the worst sin, because to them thats like killing his family. In Ireland it would mean death in that time. People forget what they came from, a country occupied by the English who could do whatever they liked and did.

Try genealogical dna service. You seem to have a Y chromosone, it should happen with a small bit of ease, though possibly a great deal of cost.

Chadwick Boseman said to an interviewer that there are 2 kinds of DNA tests. He said the dna test he did was to specifically find out what Tribe his family come from. Chadwick Boseman's family history is amazing.
