It’s amazing how being physically unattractive and lacking in charisma is automatically associated with being a “good guy”. A lot of these so called nerds and swagless men will treat you just as bad as the thugs. I’ve been saying this. A lot of these men that are apparent “nice” guys are simply men who have had no choice but to move a certain way, because they aren’t given the opportunity to treat and use women the way they want to. They really are only as nice as their options are to be frank.

I’ve dated nice,so call “nerdy” educated and not the best looking guys. Mind you everyone they knew says they’re so nice and sweet, just an all around “good” guy. I take a chances, open my heart, believing in this nice guy image. After sometime , all of sudden they start behaving a bit too funny, and cocky. They assumed since they can get with me, they can have any “beautiful “ woman or any woman for that matter. Being all sneaky and unfaithful . Here’s the kicker, after the break-up, the next lady they get with has similar characteristic and facial structure as me. I don’t get that. I would still have some small friendly conversation with them time to time. Some of those times, they’ll bring there new lady around me to introduce them to me. Which was always weird to me. I’m 52 now, I’m mindful of the game, I see them coming a mile away.

He will be shipping out soon so it would be a long distance thing so a lot less pressure and time to put into the "courtship." Lol. @ymarrero23 his career aspirations were good but we don't know that she would've had a good life with him. A LOT of whether or not you will be compatible with someone is based on your personalities. I personally couldn't be truly happy with someone who didn't have my sense of humor and didn't make me laugh- career is important but I need that too. We don't know his values, political views, religion, views on future family planning, what his interests are or even what kind of woman he is looking for. He literally just gave us info about his job and nothing else so I can understand why she was like "MEH...". Granted she could have asked better questions/ more questions, but if he knows he's trying to secure a date, he should be offering more info about himself than just his work history. I don’t know if it’s because I grew upper middle class, but being a good man is literally the bare minimum. I was a preteen in the ride or die era and I thought it was the most ridiculous concept I had heard at that age. I was never the black girl that black guys liked nerdy, loved MJ and Prince hated rap, didn’t care about Jordan’s, and nose always in a book. The few black boys who targeted me in school (mostly to claim my v- card) preached that ride or die BS. These black guys don't care if I got accepted in respiratory program, got multiple income, online businesses, and etc. They still prefer the Instagram baddies over the nice smart black girls! Black guys would feel a way if non-black guys found me attractive and compliment my looks. I remember my ex's sister was dark skin girl who wears glasses, little overweight, no makeup/ weave, graphic designer, love video games/ anime, and make weird creature costumes. No black guy was checking for her so she was only dated white guys and a white guy married her within few years of dating.

All I attempted to date when I dated BM were educated/lame/nerdy types that didn’t fit the stereotypical “hood” dude trope. I can honestly say only one of them was truly nice to me and actually wanted me. And he was 3 years younger than me and a virgin. all the rest of them were SUPER colorist and/or preferred non black women. I lost my virginity to one that loved to watch anime and spoke proper English and he married an obese white woman a year later. he did show interest in me when I met him but as soon as he thought he had a chance with a non black girl he dropped me quick. I don't understand why people always want us to settle. I have had friends who were the full package. I was in Medschool so most of them had bright futures, were hard workers and had great manners. But some I could only see as friends because of their general demeanor, habits, vibe or temperament.

His type was everything I was expect me being skinny & having a small boobs & butt. I was just convenient for him at that time. I’m what the typical person would consider to be a bit alternative or “nerdy” in terms of my hobbies, interests and overall personality. Looks wise I’m pretty decent; nothing special but on a good day I get attention and looks. I’m fit; I work out 3-4 days a week and I’m very slim and toned. Natural hair always done too. But “good” black men never approach me, like NEVER, even though the nerdy black guy type is who I would love to date. They ALWAYS secretly want the girls who are out of their league or who represent the girls that rejected them in the past i.e IG models, etc. There are sooo many black women out there like me who really want to date these kind of black men but they just don’t check for us. People need to listen closely. Nuclear physicists don’t have business degrees. This guy isn’t a nuclear physicist. He’s getting ready to join the Navy where he will pursue nuclear physics. And let’s be real, entry level military, whether enlisted or officer, are not six figure earners. There’s nothing wrong with passing on a soldier. Not everyone wants that life. I tell civilian women to not marry or date men in the military all the time. It’s a bit harder for military women to date civilian men. Don’t ask me why, it just is. Anyway, I say this as a young black woman in the military. I made a promise to myself to not get in another relationship for the rest of my contract. The amount of male coworkers I Know that are married with children while having whole ass relationships with 18 year PVTs or foreigners in the country they’re deployed in is truly concerning.
My 19 year old hispanic roomate in Korea got pregnant by a married black sergeant (funny enough she told me how well black men treat her prior to them getting together🥴🥴) in his 30s only to completely abandon her when he left back to the states.
(Women cheat too of course but men are more reckless about it) plus long distance won’t keep most people faithful which is something you’ll 100% have to deal with when you’re with someone in the military. I have so many other stories to tell but I don’t wanna make this comment to long 😅😂
