Cars before 2006 or 2007 (I don’t remember exactly) have a slow data bus, so standard OBD2 adapters are simply not detected by the on-board system. The KKL-cable is cheap and solves most problems, but you need paid or cracked software and certain skills to work with it. It's like the Prompt and GUI on Windows =)
Hello, yes, reading out the OBD data is relatively slow on the Škoda Fabia Mk. 1. However, this is obviously really a problem with the vehicle. Competitor products also need approx. 4-5 minutes. Perhaps it might be quicker with the equipment available in garages. But these devices can cost upwards of €200. So it's a bit too expensive for a private user. Thank you for the video, Harvey!
It's likely to be a bad connection. Check that first then inspect the PCB for faults, dry solder joints, burnt out or damaged parts and fix if you know how
That airbag igniter resistance too high is 99% bad clockspring. Had to replace it twice already. Pretty common fault I would say. But it's pretty quick and easy fix.
Thank you Harvey. Great video again. It was something that i was looking for, some way of not waste much money, but be able to acees airbag and brake codes not using chinese cheap devices. does this device or app has anual payments to unblock features or it is pay once type?
love your vids hatboy, just wondering if you can help with my skoda superb electric seat positions, please don`t tell me to look in the manual, as i already have and it`s no help....i have the same superb as you, with electric memory drivers seat, before i changed the car`s 12 volt battery (engine bay main battery) i could alter the seat so it was in any position , get out of the car, and when RETURNING to the car, plip the remote fob to unlock the car and the seat would return to it`s set position , now since changing the 12v battery it no longer does that, when i remove the key from ignition, the seat moves back a few inches to allow easier egress and when i get back in the car, the seat automatically moves forwards a few inches, again to the set memory position, but if i lay the seat flat, as i often have a kip in my lunch break at work, get out of car, lock it, return to the car, unlock car, the seat still lays flat ! any ideas please ???
I use VAGCOM cable, i tried to use BT adapter on skoda and that doesn't want to work. Skoda has VW KKL protocol, not OBD-2

Some Skoda's not working with obd2-adapters. Need VAG-COM cable and PC in this situation.
I agree, Vagcom is a great, if not the definitive tool for VAG cars :-)
I believe VAG-COM offers more features than OBD II. Especially on older VAG cars.

The device gives one years subscription, but not sure what the cost is to renew, I'll ask them and get back :-)
Will you make a video on how to code the key so that the central unit works?
Never done that, so you would be better asking someone that has, sorry, but if I ever need it doing I will video it, thanks for asking :-)
Ok 😊

Have you tried pairing the seat positions with the keys?
