Another great video review, might be a bit too complex for some, but great value considering the price of a Snap-On scanner that does this kind of stuff!
Good video! So, how do we compare this to e.g. the Mucar V07 or Launch CRP919E which are around £400. Does this one actually do what it promises: connect to pre-1996 vehicles, reset airbag after accident, support ECU swap, adjust mileage on new ODO, trigger DPG regen, show live data, reset throttle body, reset fuel trim and other systems etc. What is the cost after the 2 year free updates expired?
Thanks I would imagine if the spec sheet says it will do all those things.... then it will Obviously I couldn't test every function or it would be a 3 hour video But they are a very decent company in my experience, so I have no reason to doubt them The subscription costs are outlined on the website, but they often have discount coupons, so worth keeping an eye on there too :)
I'm shopping around for a new scan tool and came across your channel and had to subscribe 👍😄. You probably get this a lot but I can't help thinking you sound just like Matt from radio 1
I have used the kingbolen k7 on Porsche Audi Range Rover many others works great and many functions it can perform Not sure there is much it can’t do what is the best version I could upgrade to?
Most scanners will work to clear bike codes, but most bikes need an adapter, I have cleared codes on my 2017 Triumph Bonneville with the Think Diag 2 scanner (review on the channel) as the Triumph has a proper OBD11 Port, but some bikes such as Ducati and BMW hsave their own connecters, I know the K8 has a BMW adapter in the box, plus loads of other adapters, but not sure they have all bike makes.
Thanks for the vid. I have a S600 but I'm thinking of upgrading as 8 can't get into the bcm with the s600, what is the pice for this model please, and have you a discount code?.
Hi Helen, the discount codes are random, but generally if you keep an eye on the Amazon store they do tend to post new coupons regularly. we have a video coming next week on the S600 BTW as it's a great little budget scanner 😁
Replacing a DPF isn't a huge job really, and most can be cleaned or re-gened. And this can do pretty much every manufacturer on the planet, and even pre 1996 cars, so I still think it's One to consider 😉
@@Budget-Cars-And-Bikes a forced regen on a dpf is the stupidest thing anyone can ever suggest, dpf should never need forced regen. If there has been underlying issue that has caused dpf restriction it should be cleaned then computer told it has a new one fitted and soot and ash content reset.
@@grahamlittlefair8107 So there will never be a diagnostic scanner that can clean the DPF then? although I imagine this will do the requisite reset, I can't say to that though, as I haven't done that personally.
@@Budget-Cars-And-Bikes if you watch a fellow RUclipsrs channel Oreillys motors you will see the k8 will do some vehicles but wont do others unfortunately but for the money it looks to be one of the better ones, runs software by Launch.
@@grahamlittlefair8107 Yes agreed, for the money compared to something like Snap-On it's well priced, and I believe Kingbolen is part of the Launch group, I've just reviewed the latest Mid-Level scanner from Launch on the channel too 😁

Thanks Mate 😉
as someone who looks after his own car this is worth every penny, not cheap but wel worth it, one visit to a main dealer it would pay for itself.
Agreed 😁
Quite cheap. 400 from Ali sale
great review. Thank you! Got one on the way!!
Thanks 😁

Not sure it's been mentioned before 🤣 but thanks for subscribing Colin 😉

The K7 is an awesome bit of kit, the natural choice for upgrade is the K8 But only if you need the extra functions it offers over the K7 really/.
Brilliant review I think I will have to buy one for my very unreliable Range Rover 😎😎
Thanks Andrew 😁
a great tool for anyone who owns a out of warranty Range Rover!
Does the K8 have the option to connect to motorcycles as well??

Hello can it do battery reset for vehicles after battery replacement?
Yes of course 🙂

@@Budget-Cars-And-Bikes thanks I've subscribed to keep up to date then.
Can't help but stumble over them being calle KINGbolen. I intuitively call them King BOLEN.
How do they call themselves?
Well they are a Chinese company, so that could be a mystery 🤣
So true... :)

You talking about after 2 years it loses some basic functions as Bidirectional?? Quite bad choice then.
Pretty much every Bi-Directional diagnostic tool works on a subscription basis.
No is the answer to your question, Untill there is a unit that can do dpf replacements on every vehicle and reset everything.
