Quantum Flux R 4s truck. First test, bash and first fix! What happened?

- Here we go for the first all around tests with the NEW Maverick Quantum Flux R 4s race truck!
3s and 4s speed tests, general bash test and even it's first issue, could have been prevented if I checked over the whole car properly before first use.
First impressions, I think it is a great on-road bash or race platform and with a few small changes it could be a real beast!

Thanks mate for the tip on the diffs mine did that on the rear and I wouldn’t of Evan checked it if it wasn’t for you love ur vids
Thanks mate👍
I'm glad I could help a little🙂
Wow, this is an awesome machine. It drives and handles really well. Great vid Saul. 👍🏼🚗. I think it would look cool with some green led lights under the chassis for night driving.
It is an awesome street basher for sure, good speed and handling, few little mods will make it even better🤘
Night driving at the end of this vid mate with lights under the shell😅
I cut a fraction out of out of rear body body shell including the bit in the middle , and raised the rear body shell up fractionally , so that hole in the rear diffuser works like a double diffuser and also so it can expell some of the built up air pressure under the shell out the rear .
Yeah on a cat like this a diffuser is pretty much just for asterisks, to make it look realistic.
My 134mph car has no rear diffuser, my Limitless is the same story, no diffuser no issues.
You have to remember most RCs are nothing like real cars therefore the aerodynamics and geometry are rarely comparable or scalable.
Great Video…it’s way to complicated to get to the differentials…really like the car but that should be way easier if something breaks
Thanks🙂👍
I got a bit confused putting it back together😅
Yeah it's a fun and quiet capable truck but madness to work on😱
I'm buying this!
Nice👍
I was just checking out Maverick bashers, thanks mate.
First for me aswell, looks promising🤞😁
cool car! i can get it now for 430 euro here i live.(it just came in to the store)The Arrma Felony is also on christmas sale here for 600 euro. With signal loss, diff problems and all the job after 1st run on the quantum, i think the Arrma wins my wallet here :)
Oh I would highly recommend the Felony if you want tough! My Limitless is amazing and my mates Infraction is nuts😅👌
The Maverick is fun but not the toughest platform.
Your prices seem very high though🤔
The Maverick was just over $550aud (Australian) when it arrived, about 350euro.
The Felony is about retail at 600euro, about $940aud.
Could just be the exchange difference.
@@rccrazy Everything is expensive here in Norway :) The infraction at the time im writing this costs 1317.59 AUD here.
Yeah wow, it must have to do with the import taxes and that type of stuff, maybe a different in pay wages.
Hopefully you get one soon🤞
That signal loss was weird. It sure seemed to be something about that area since you didn't have any problems. Anyway, nice street basher.
Great video
It was a strange signal loss, ill have to do a few tests at some other spots and see if I get problems.
A nice street basher though, yes👌
Thanks Tim👍
Love this car, fun run and video! Good job! 😉
It is a very fun truck👌
A few small mods and it could be even better😁
Thanks👍
Been waiting for this 😁 hope youre keeping well dude 😁🤘
I definitely wanted to get this one uploaded being a new model.
Thanks man👊
Great review mate cheers
You are welcome🙂
I'll have to get this out again soon for a bash👌
Thanks for watching mate👍
Well iam buying one on your review so very happy
Awesome👍
Really hope you enjoy it😁
Looks like a decent street basher mate 👍
Yeah man it's doing good so far🤘 longevity of all the parts is the test I guess😅
Really interesting video 👀 Lost signal, had about a billion screws to get to the front diff 😱 It looks good on 4s, but there is alot of competition in the on-road market right now. Will be curious to see what you think of it after a few more bashes!
That's exactly what the test has to be with this one I think.
If it can handle even half the abuse the Infraction can take ill be happy😆
Speed is good enough on 4s and it handles quite well, but yeah man, the screws to remove😭
Take front rear end off chassis get diffs out from inner side
(1) you need to keep the weight down, it's very light. (2) replace transmitter and reciver, it dosen't look good. Nice test run. (B-)
Yeah the signal loss was strange, I can't change it until I get more Spektrum receivers.
The weight, this is my first street basher so I got nothing to compare it to but it seems heavy for all plastic, as I said it is my first so 🤷♂️
Thanks mate👍
Mine reaches 98.7 Km/h on 4s with the 20t pinion. Yup, it needs that pinion. No problems with the radio signal yet.
Nice🤘
Hopefully you don't get any signal issue🤞
What the fuck!! So amazing Rc car. Super nice acceleration and pretty nice body shell. I love it!!
😅 it is pretty awesome
@@rccrazy I saw. I want one. Lol. Enjoy bro
Definitely enjoying it and already started modding🤘😂
Nothing wrong with this beast mate 👌 why would anyone buy an infraction there is no point. Good watch
Definitely an awesome street basher so far👌
Let's hope it's can deal with the punishment the limitless has taken🤞
Change the diffoils
Put hoonys tires on
And it is a monster
I changed the front diff oil in that video didn't I? I can't remember.
And yes I have a set of hoons on it now, better than the stock wheels that's for sure.
@@rccrazy just picked up one of these 2nd hand. Has Hoons on it & I find they scrub on the shell (at the edge of wheel arch, which can be trimmed easy enough; but also at the top of the wheel arch in the shell) & wondering how to get around this. Not many 95mm (same as stock) tyre options out there.
Also what cst shock oil would you recommend?
Fun car though.
Definitely fun cars.
My hoons don't rub on the shell and I actually lowered my shell so I can't help you there.
But there are lots of 1/8 on-road wheel options but can get pricy, GRP have some nice wheels and reasonable price.
@@rccrazy odd, wonder what’s different. Must be something in the suspension maybe. Might try adjusting spring pre-load (wound all the way out currently) which might raise the ride height a little & help.
Oh yes my springs are as tight as they can go, definitely try stiffening the springs👌
May not feel right for you though, I run quite stiff shocks on most of my cars.
Mam pytanie, czy po zakupie auta dawałeś olej do dyferencjału?
I put 80,000w in the front diff, centre and rear was always stock
How and where can I order a spool or spur gear , can’t find anything?
Only one I can find, maybe a arrma spool works also🤷
hobbytechtoys.com.au/products/maverick-150271-hd-steel-spur-gear-46t-1m-quantum-r?currency=AUD&variant=39501389398051&Google%20Shopping&gclid=CjwKCAjwqZSlBhBwEiwAfoZUIOTfwxVzhsFo_8qZG2ju2WgUaa-rQb0He69rGnUa1mMlLxgFlI36fhoCbbwQAvD_BwE
Did you notice the engine getting hot on 4s?
It was good all stock gearing, if you check my later vids I up the gearing, can't remember what size but that did cause a fair bit of heat but never actually overheated.
Should have round about a 19 tooth pinion stock. You can tell it's about a 14 15 as is
Really depends what you want to do with it as in speed or bashing.
20t is too much for bashing with the stock motor, it gets HOT but quite slow for speedruns.
Check out the latest video, you'll see how it goes with a 20t pinion.

Does warranty cover that ?
Sorry not sure what you mean
Same thing happened to acouple of different maverick vehicles I had acouple of years back.
Yeah iv heard some negative feedback with the older models that's kinda why I went this one😅
The diffs seem quite good but they are new I think🤷♂️
@@rccrazy yeah the older short course trucks I’m talking about
@@robbosrc ok yeah, this is my first Maverick so I'm not sure how good or bad any others were.
I'M GUESSING DRIVE CUP GRUB SCREW CAME OUT??
Sorry I didnt see my caps lock was on lol..Thicker oil in the front is a must for sure
All good, yeah the diff was almost empty🤦 haven't filled the rear yet but the centre seems like it has like 500k oil in already🤔 bit strange they fill the centre but not front or rear diffs🤨
@@rccrazy Right? Did better with the front filled for sure though
Yeah definitely👌
I find 80k is a good weight to start off with and depending on the power, weight and all round setup of each car depends wether you go thinner or thicker.
@@rccrazy Yea it did much better with the 80k up front..60k-100k-30k is what Ima try first..It's what I have and what a lot of guys run in their Infractions
Broke on my first run.
That's no good
@@rccrazy not sure what the piece is called but it connects the front end to the chassis. I bought the truck this past weekend. It was a “blowout” sale at my LHS for 249. It was in the high 40’s outside so not too too cold.
Ah ok.
Well yes it all depends what happened for it to break and I know temps can effect the durability or resilience of some plastics.
If you mean Fahrenheit then thats between 4-9°C, thats cold🥶😅
