    Instant subscriber! Your way of explaining things is so easy to understand, no talking incredibly slow, in fact when the video ended I wanted to watch an extended version of it! No long intros or outros, just consistent information that’s easy to understand without it seeming robotic, seeing as you also included a balance of personal opinion and factual information. Thank you Ellen Li!

    I always thought that Paganini wrote the devils trill sonata, thanks for setting me straight!

    Now I really wish I could somehow see this guy playing live. Sounds pretty intense, especially for the music at the time.

      After hearing modern violinists, I think you might be disappointed. Improved violin pedagogy has produced many masters of the violin these days, and even some that can not only play all of Paganini's known works, but compositions of much more intricacy, and technically more formidable. Also, as the young lady mentioned in the video, modern violin accessories have aided the violinist in not having to prop the violin up with the hand & arm. The chinrest & shoulder rest have made the hand & arm more independent. Note: The young violinist Ernst followed Paganini so obsessively, learning all he could about Paganini's technique and compositions for his own use, that Paganini became more careful about what he may accidentally reveal. Ernst even boarded in rooms next to Paganini so that he could hear him practice through the wall....and you thought groupies were fanatics. Ernst made good use of what he learned. You now have that same opportunity through RUclips!!

      Hi, may I know what resources/ reading material you have used? Your story about Ernst has piqued my interest to find out more as well and you seem to have read up quite a bit. Could you kindly share with me anything you have read? Thank you@@robotnik77

    You are a musician - how much do you practice yourself? and has it affected your own childhood?

    • @ellenlimusic
      @ellenlimusic  Год назад +1

      i currently practice about 4 hours a day, but i really didn't practice much/enough as a kid, probably not more than 2 hours a day until around high school. i thankfully had quite a happy childhood!

    Facts, Reason & Logic BE DAMNED to the Flames of Hades! I stand with Mark Twain Here! Never Allow a FEW (or a myriad of FACTS in this case) to Get in the Way of a Good Story! SO There Ms. Ellen Li! I Wag my Tongue at You Young Lady! Oh, and WELL Done On Your Presentation! A+! Did Paganini's first name happen to be Johnny? And did he happen to reside in Georgia as a boy perchance? I am Asking for a Friend...

    Murdered??? I can't imagine how someone who communes with the higher heavenly harmonies, can be an evil person who could commit murder or intentional pain to another.

    For gods sake nobody actually thought this was anything to do with the devil other than perhaps the emotions his music evoked , like referring to a beautiful voice as the voice of a angel . Connotations of good and evil are subjective

      Well, of note is the fact that The Roman Catholic Church would not bury Paganini in "holy ground". After several decades though, they relented.

    Neither jhonson was a good artist at first, nor many of the sellouts.
    Seems funny how all the "greats" were the most messed up artists to ever be, yet we are taught to worship them.
