Thanks for the video. Something to point out for people just starting out on this is that many services being disabled are already defaulted to "Manual" and not running. Leaving them this way allows them to be started when the system needs them and they won't run at times when the system doesn't need them. So if it is "Manual" and -not- running when you go to disable them, you're not really going to speed up your system and may end up with something that doesn't work when needed in the future. The ones to look at first are ones that, after booted and running the programs you use regularly, are "Status: Running". Disabling (or setting to Manual) these are the ones that will actually affect your current system speed.
This was often true with older versions of Windows, but Microsoft made some changes to service architecture. You can see this for yourself with the Volume Shadow Copy service that is manual by default. Even with it being manual, Windows will start this service quite frequently and your disk I/O performance will be impacted by this service being manual. I do not use Windows backup or system restore/system protection at all, so this service is not needed by me. Only caveat with this is sometimes Windows update will still try to make a shadow save backup even when you disable System Restore in Windows. This seems like bad Microsoft code that is not recognizing the fact that I disabled System Protection from the Control Panel.
Yes disabling this services will make it faster you yourself test the performance in safe mode it is fast because there as not many services running in the background
Excellent video Bri,And you listed all in the description now that's going to make it easy to go down the list and disable as necessary.cheers Bri. Great info.
quick tip: if you just hover over the startup type, you can just use your scroll wheel on your mouse to disable it. So you dont have to keep clicking the box
Goto Black Viper’s Windows 10 Service Configurations for a detailed description of the services you are disabling and a good guide for different system configurations
I find it useless to disable services with the manual start-up type. They only run if they are required by a third party. Anyway, I doubt you will get any visible performance difference. BTW: Several services you disabled are quite useful.
If you use Android emulators for gaming, *do not disable Hyper-V* services. As others have noted, don't bother disabling services that are set to Manual. They don't run in the background and waste resources. They start only when you launch an app that needs them.
Thank you so much for your video. Best one I have seen so far. Do you know how I can uninstall inbuilt games for windows 10?eg casual games, all family games, all kid games.
I have really enjoyed your videos through the yrs. I am not a windows 10 fan I still have windows 7 pro. My question is do you have a video on what to disable in services for windows 7 pro. that are unnecessary
Please watch your volume settings! The intro sound was at +3 dB and your voice at -10. You should really learn how to set hour volumes in your videos! Btw, you don't have to click on 'Apply' and the on 'OK' . Clicking 'OK' does apply and the closing the window.
I have noticed you disable a lot of the spysoft features, nice one i am now running 10 because aparently win8 isn't supported on new 7gen prossesor ms are afraid of spectre and meltdown variants. I can see a end insights for computers as we know it.
All the people complaining that something is not working after disabling some services need to check their event viewer for errors. There's literally no need to ask or guess. It's good practice to get in the habit of anyway especially if you are working in this field. If you aren't going to check the logs before asking for help you don't deserve it because the answer is literally right there in the event logs.
There's a problem with this - I've been windows computing since 3.1 in the 1990s but looking down the services list and exploring what some weirdly named services are or what they do, I have no idea what the description is talking about. It could be language from another planet. Better to be safe than sorry so I dare not disable any of it. My windows 10 is performing like lightening so why add to the stress?
probably should do a short video of this and update the listing of what can be diabled. On win 10 anniversary some of the items listed are not in the new win 10 anniversary
can you at least explain what manual and disabled and automatic and etc all means? like whats the point of the video if you dont even explain the basics?
Disabled means it will not able to work or run. Manual means it will work when it will run. Automatic means it will run automatically when u need or not.
Your video title says WHAT services can i disable.. You did start with a warning, then showed how to open the file and that was the end of your help..the rest is just reading and mumbling and half sentences then silence and thinking and all that we all do.. You just thought we should watch you
+Derek Coster It is very important if you want to print on local or network printer, if you disable this service you wont be able to print. I don't need it on this machine, but if you do like I said in the video, then keep it enabled if you want to use printer.
tnx for sharing :) now i can play games without lag and late response... take note its useful to disable this services if youre using your laptop/pc for gaming purpose only like me... i dont have any problem disabling those list of services because of gaming purpose... how MS enabling those un important services when majority of laptop/pc users are into gaming i hope MS will create OS that dedicate for gaming :)
I followed through this guide and after restarting my pc it says “something happened and your PIN isn’t available. click to set up your pin again.” And when i click it nothing happens
Good video, Since i did this my computer seems alot faster. The only thing is every time i try to install a windows store app it crashes, does anyone know what service i need to re enable to have it working again?
Would there be any repercussions in disabling all the Hyper-V programs? I'm thinking of clearing it up but i'm also worried it might interrupt my gaming/surfing experience.
Which services do i have to make the win 10 login pin to work? I fix this issue...if you want to keep your login pin..don't disable CNG KEY ISOLATION. There are other things on hear if you disable it... It could render your system to prevent backup images. I find him very skilled but in servies.msc. he needs to educated himself before posting what to disable or explain exactly what could happen.this is dangerous and should not be mess with. Opt out of this video. Ok...new update..sorry, i was really frustrated with your video but when i looked back and heard you say back up system restore....i did but i also was rushing and must have remove it while tweaking and moving crap around. I know some things in the services but it's been awhile. This isn't your fault...it's mine....Sorry. It just taught me a real good lesson. I had to chill because i really didn't want to re-install and install all this app and tweaking, tuning up my pc😞 i made a dual boot and just looked at the regional services and your before it chop me in half again. I literally took pictures out the services and i fix it. Reguardless, i would of told you the out come. I was warn. it is still a good video. It made me think....so I'm going to check every service.msc out and find out what it does and what i shouldn't touch. Again...sorry.🤷😢🙏
After I disabled all services from video, after few days my Computer didn't want to open some futures like: from Settings didn't want to open Windows Update, Accounts. I reinstaled the Windows and after that I disabled all services from video description. After that start button didn't want to work. I enabled Administrator from Ultimate Windows Tweeker 4 and made another user. After that Windows Update again didn't want to open. :)). WTF.. What service from there is not ok to stop?
Not sure what happened but after following your wonderful tutorial I seem to have accedently disabled something that was needed for runningthe windows store, now I seem to be getting this error: windows store error code 0x80072ee7 any ideas what I disabled that could be causing this?
+Jason Farah Try this I looked up your issue and people said this works. 1. go to control panel 2. search "view network connections" 3. go to view network connections 4. choose your network( which you are currently using ) 5. right click on it and select properties 6. scroll down to " internet protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4) " 7. hit properties 8. Now choose Use the following DNS Server addresses 9. right down preferred DNS Server - 8.8.8.8 and Alternate DNS Server - 8.8.4.4 10. These are the addresses of Google's DNS Servers 11. +fixitdaz you're welcome Daz
Unless you don't print at all, print spooler service is safe to disable other than that, you got it Britec!
Nice video Bro, remember for those who worries about any repercussions, there is always system restore.
This is a great guide to make your pc not operate correctly when you want. Manual non running services donot create problems..
Awesome! Thanks really much m8te! There are absolutely no risks on disabling those services, maybe just leave the storage service on
If you are experiencing a problem with your website's javascript, just re-enable the "CND Key Isolation" service.
+Joshuaomorales thanks mate
+Dick Head No problem.
+Joshuaomorales The same goes for if you use the "PIN"-login method for Windows... like I do :- P
quick tip: if you just hover over the startup type, you can just use your scroll wheel on your mouse to disable it. So you dont have to keep clicking the box
Thanks mate, Really not enjoying Windows 10. But this helped speeding it up quite a bit
You are a godsend! Thank you for taking the time to do this! :)
These tips had me locked out of my computer. Thanks a lot.
same 😤
Goto Black Viper’s Windows 10 Service Configurations for a detailed description of the services you are disabling and a good guide for different system configurations
most of these i didn't have, but it sped up my computer a lot. Thanks!
Thank you for this video .Of all the things i have done to improve the performance of my computer this has been the most helpful
That Bluetooth Support Service is very handy for laptops
Excellent! This is the best RUclips channel IMO, Keep up the good work Brian (Y)
Might be a good idea to create a restore point before doing this. Perhaps 2-3 going down and rebooting after disabling some.
I find it useless to disable services with the manual start-up type. They only run if they are required by a third party. Anyway, I doubt you will get any visible performance difference.
BTW: Several services you disabled are quite useful.
Good work Bri !
DO NOT disable CNG key isolation. Disabling this will cause problems with login PIN if you have. Setting new PIN will also be problem
Ya that's kinda what I figured
this....
happened to me
FUCK
Thanks for the video. Very helpful
Awesome video brian!
+rounak dutta Thanks.

I do recommend disabling Xbox services and the geolocation service.
Ye, the rest is pointless as it can cause some instability overall.
Thx a lot! It will help my old laptop too as my new one is now lets say 65% improvedBTW i subscribed
Another excellent video.
u a good guy my friend !!! thank you #1 new subscriber !!!

Brian, services like telephony on a desktop or local hotspot for a desktop seem useless, right?

Just turn them back on. It just causes instability overall except for the few that aren't really needed... The rest help your system
Thanks for this video!!! I did all the settings you said...except....with the new Creators edition. "windows push service" is not able to stop.... huh
Thank you for the good work and time
I have noticed you disable a lot of the spysoft features, nice one i am now running 10 because aparently win8 isn't supported on new 7gen prossesor ms are afraid of spectre and meltdown variants. I can see a end insights for computers as we know it.
95% of the services he turned off where manual or manual triggered , so no impact on performance whatsoever...
waisted 20 minutes of my life
bet youre a really important busy person....not
Did.. you... just...
make a Windows 95 pun?
Pretty sure you don't want to disable NETLOGON, especially rebooting your computer when you want to have standard internet access.
I also use this trick to save my laptop battery and to run high ram usable games s. you give me proper idea .
Thanks 😊❤

Easiest way to shut down unnecessary Windows services, is to wipe the drive and put anything but Windows on your computer....
Thank you Sir!
[Apply] -> [OK]
WHY?! Pressing [OK] is just [Apply] and close!

Awesome Video \m/
I turned off alot of services and some of which were sound, services and task manager now I can't hear anything. And can't enable it again.
What service controls the annoying chime-like sounds that come on when certain things happen or when certain functions are activated?

would it be better to set to manual that way if you're system needs them they will start buy if not needed they will not.?
Please help me, why i can't disable my windows update via services i don't know what happened. Before it can be disable but now it cannot be.
I dont recommand disabling superfetch guys, it makes u PC slower on desktop
Simply The Best Slower? it literally took up like 80% of my disk for some reason, when i disabled it everything ran much faster
SuperFetch is bloat ware, it takes up too much space on the drive and is only a little bit faster than without superfetch.
Simply The Best superfetch to be honest is bloatware lol
thanks dude :)
I disabled all of them And i dont remember the password, Is there any help?
6 of the services you disabled don't even show on my list. Did someone rename them? Can they be hidden?
Same here.
Maybe you're using a different version of Windows 10
@@RandomHui i have Win 10 version 18362.
I can see and set the value of these services in windows registry, but they are not visible in services.msc
Is it recommended u disable hyper-v?
a lot of services that you were stopping were missing from my services I have windows 10 and I don't have same services that you have

brian program that turns of windows 10 services called SDcuttheline
Thanks. Spybot is on the job.
+johnpatus yeah was going to show app that does it in next video lol
On 7. is nothing! What service was in 7. ?
Nice vid, this helps me a lot. Win10 jus5 literally f'ckd up my laptop resources.
Avoid disabling services if you are a gamer... This can cause instability and you are better off leaving it the way it is
