This Friday I met the manager of the TWRA Trout stocking program and I told him that trout fishing this year is absolutely horrible. One guy from the crowd told me to use trout magnet. But yeah, there is a dozen of deuchebags that talk to the trout fishery people and know exactly the hour and the place of every stocking and line up like beggars right below the truck for every stocking. This is what trout fishing in TN has been reduced to.
There's people like that here too. I went to watch the stocking and there were these goobers trying to catch them before the truck even left. Very cringe.
Yikes - most people that watch Realistic Fishing know that Realistic Fishing isn't the problem. Complaining about weather doesn't mean your town sucks. What the hell? I wish all Yankee transplants loved TN as much as he does.

Its been two years of bad weather year round...you are right ...the fishing has fallen off ...horrible heat followed by horrible droughts...and this winter 5 weeks of super cold. I still go because I float rivers and its a fun day even if the fishing is off...but... the fish have been suffering the past few years. Thanks for the videos...helps a lot when stuck indoors!!!

I like how every armchair angler has some kind of magic rig, magic bait, specific time of day, whatever unhelpful advice that they would have would definitely have them hitting their limits in your body of water. This is just what fishing colder times of the year is like from the bank. Lucky to catch bluegills most of the time, every once in awhile you can get a nice fish on a warmer day.

That's definitely fishing in late winter, it's why I'm waiting for spring, I wanna try out a surf rod on at the dam I go to for more casting distance, I would love to get some more fish that way as I noticed people who do have better luck. Can't wait. 👍

If you want to catch some good trout you should head down the the dam in Lynchburg and fish the elk. They have rainbows, cutthroats, and some good browns. There's one of spots and most of the locals are here are fairly welcoming to everyone
Alex, fishing surely becomes frustrating when nothing bites, and makes us happier than piggies in mud when a potbellied bass takes the bait and well, realistically, enjoy catching whatever takes the bait. There's no right or wrong when it comes to fishing. Well, maybe it's wrong to not go when the opportunity presents itself. Tight lines ----- there's better days ahead.

We've been here over two years now, and I haven't found it. 10 inch bass, tiny white bass, 8 inch crappie and some yellow perch? That's it? Some stocked trout or the ever-present 7 inch wild trout that they have all over the upper Southeast? Oh, but I did catch two monster sized..........................................drum. I miss Georgia, which actually does have the fishing to match the hype. Now, I will say that insulting people and mocking how they talk isn't going to win you any friends. And, they may be right to an extent - worms in winter? Not the best choice and fishing in water less than 10 ft. deep is only going to get you some small bluegills in this season. Maybe you know what you're doing better than 9 out of ten people - but maybe that 10th guy could teach you something if you would back off that pride just a bit.
How do people know when they are going to stock trout? In Colorado, you can kinda tell by past stocking reports but they don’t tell you in advance. I really appreciate you!

Just teasing it a bit so it moves a little. Amazing, they bit it! Yea, some were 3 inch but many were 6-8 inches. Too much fun on my ultralight. My problem is when people come fish next to you or ur spot and not saying jack shit. Atleast say hi or talk to them and see if it's alright for them to fish there. And ofc people would say yes bc there not aholes. But when they just come up and dont say jack shi and start throwing their lines, that's when I have problems and become an asshole. Cuz it's not that hard to just ask if they mind or not

I'm not one to comment or watch your videos very often, but for a hobby where the sole focus is to catch little creatures that swim around under the water you think people would be more united and helpful in this effort. And around here in SE MN we are pretty helpful, but for some reason when it comes to online, old timers and middle aged folks just love running their mouth when it comes to fishing or fishing videos and I just don't understand it. Maybe its just as bad with younger anglers but I haven't really seen it yet personally.

In my area, the lake (pond actually) is closed for 2 weeks each spring. That's when they stock the trout.

I went today and only caught 1 3 to 3 inch blue gill was out there 1 hour!! You definitely out fished me today.
Chattanooga report here again today. Broke my 2 week drought and finally caught a solid 2lb spotted bass today on a live shiner!
