I just want to say thank you for making the absolute best video on RUclips. Everytime I see another 4 inch vs 5 inch debate I'm just going to post this
5" really is louder and IMO, sounds better. To each their own though. Only thing that I wish is that there were resonators in the exhaust kits to dampen the drone you get in the cab that occurs at certain RPM's when running straight pipe exhausts. The droning gets old after a while.
SW3. I actually went back to a diablo predator as I get better hand calculated MPG's with it. The off idle torque seems to be stronger with the predator. Truck made 824 RWTQ on the dyno.
Badass video both very nice truck I prefer the 4" on this video because on the drive by you here more wind as suppose to the 5" which sounded like a big block monster hahaa
Mufflers...............we don't neeeeeeed no stinkin' mufflers! I run a 4" with a 66/80 Silver Bullet at 75psi boost. It barely clears the floorpan so I wrapped it with fiberglass wrap. Guy before me had it stacked with a 5" and couldn't stand the drone inner city. My worst cab drone is 30-40 mph slow acceleration. What's the difference at highway speed?
Don't know if you'll respond but what size tip would you recommend? I have a dodge 2008 2500 6.7 and I'm going to be getting the 5" and I want it louder. I was thinking a 8 inch tip?
I personally like the 5" better. Can't say I noticed too much on a drop in EGT's, I actually videoed my EGT gauge and was going to put it in the video, but there wasn't enough different between the 4" and 5" to put it in the video. However, it sounded weird at idle in the cab at first with the 5", can't really describe the sound. I must be use to it know though because it hasn't bothered me anymore like it did my first few times with the new 5".
Hey man ordering a 5in kit for my 06 what brand is the kit in this video? I like how it’s coming out. I’ve seen a lot of 5in kits but they all seem to come out different
Is there a turbo spool difference between the 4 & 5"? I just purchased a 5" for my 2010. Now everyone is telling me that I will get a noticeable amount of turbo lag. this true from your expierience? Currently my turbo spools up nicely around 2300 with the stock exhaust
It would be the exact opposite. Your getting more air out with the 5" not much more at all but a little more so it should help spool the turbo faster. Hope this helps
+Confederate 1866 i know that but what im saying is, is the muffler on it or is it off of it ? mine screams without the muffler on a stock pipe sounds like the 5.
Test isn't accurate... The 4 inch had a tip which changes the "raspy" sound. Notice how the 5 inch didn't have a tip and was very raspy, the 4 inch would've sounded basically the same if it didn't have a tip... Not accurate
Devin Aubert actually exhaust tips do have mediocre change in exhaust note tone. I have a 4 in exhaust with a muffler. Was to quiet so I got an 8 in tip and it made a noticeable difference. So my guess is you are some punk who doesn’t know shit bout vehicles or exhaust. Better luck talking smack next time

Haha, before I bought my 5" TBE I searched for a comparison video and was surprised no one has made a decent one.
The best video for this comparison, been looking for months for a good one, just ordered my 5 inch turbo back !!
Just ordered my 5” TBE Diamond Eye Exhaust for my 5.9! Super excited!
By far the best comparison video. Thank you

How bad is the drone?
This is the only video I could find that has a good solid comparison of both, just wish it was for a 24 valve 5 speed but still a great video
Jesus that 5in drive by was insane
Very good video man, very clear between 4 inch an 5 inch on the same truck and both on idle both with mild acceleration I like it thanks!!
Very well put together video!!
Great video. Thanks for the comparison. Definitely going 5".
4" sounds better at idle but everything else is better with the 5"
Awesome, thanks for the video! Getting the 5" straight TBE
Just made my order for a TBE 5" diamond eye for my 02' cummins. Thx 4 posting vid lol

good video awesome comparison
5" rules!
awesome vid wish someone made one like this a long time ago I went with the five inch anyway
Badass video both very nice truck I prefer the 4" on this video because on the drive by you here more wind as suppose to the 5" which sounded like a big block monster hahaa
Is it true the 4 inch is louder ? I have a 4 inch but want it louder. Is 5 possibly louder ?
Wow I didn't know it was that much of a difference in sound
Does one drone more while driving over the other

No tip.
Did you go with a kit for the 5 inch pipes or did you build it yourself? If you went with a kit, which one did you purchase?
Great video! What brand exhaust is the 5 inch?
Were both of these Diamond Eye systems?!
5 inch all day hands down
How much highway drone do you get with the 5 inch? I have a 4 inch straight pipe and I don't get much at all
5" all day baby

Which one do you think gave you more turbo whistle: The 4 inch or the 5 inch?
Good video. .well done
Right on man nice vid.
what exhaust kit did you use for the 5" if you even used one?
Severance built 48RE and a Smarty. It's my daily driver so I'm not getting wild with it.
What all is done to the truck besides exhaust?

cool vid, nice rig
So what do you like better? Any difference in EGT's or Drone?
which felt stronger........? I like the quiet cab with the 5''...........let m know asap. Im ready to cut shit up.!
They both felt the same. More of a sound thing more than anything.
custom or is it a kit? what brand if so
Did you every tried it with the mufflers?
Damn. I didn't realize it made that big of a difference. 5" sounds better imo, meatier sound and more whistle, idle sounds a little funky though
The 4 inch would've sounded the same.. But he had a tip on it which removes that raspy sound... So this test isn't actually accurate.
what size tip is that on the 4" exhaust? 6??
peefluffer Yes, 6".
You wont lose any torque witj the 5". Tje turbo does all the work for backpressure.
Nice sound so which one it's on the truck now
Danis A. Duarte 5".
Was that with or without a muffler?
+Confederate 1866 i know that but what im saying is, is the muffler on it or is it off of it ? mine screams without the muffler on a stock pipe sounds like the 5.
tj nicholas Both 4" and 5" without a muffler.
+Diesel Dodge sweet thank you Im buying a mega cab in about a week or so and that pipe will be going on it
what level is your smarty on?
Is that stock turbo?
Yes.
what brand exhaust?
0:01 0:21
yeah
the 5 inch is way nastier

Do a comparison on your truck then, Mr. Accurate.
Diesel Dodge he owns a Prius
