@mark wiens The rice with the barberries is called zereshk polo. It is a Persian dish that can also be served with lamb stew. The reason why the polo (rice) is sprinkled with yellow/gold is because some of the polo is mixed with saffron, giving the whole dish the perfume aroma you taste and smell. The barberries or zereshk tends to taste more tart than sour (although I do understand that everyone's pallet is different).
I loved this dish when my father use to make it. So delicious.
Thank you for trying it. I hope you enjoyed it. It truly is a delicious and delicate plate.

Waryn Flavell Pretty sure it's the regular tourist circuit...Delhi, Mumbai, Goa,Rajasthan,Kerala.
You should try beyond that because each state is like a country on its own in terms of food, language, culture, festival and traditions.
Being an Indian myself I'm yet to try all the amazing food of all 29 states.
      There's just so much variety.

A lot of people are always asking why you lean to the right. I'm not sure how you feel about it but it's actually involuntary. By leaning to the right you are exposing your left side which holds your main artery, by doing this it's a sign of submission. Which is a sincere gesture to show you are actually enjoying the food :D Keep on being expressive dude I'm sure the cooks are appreciative the most
