    I tried this yesterday & I did get the nice loud frequency sound on one of those metal business cards. My machine has the manual focus with the handle at the top. And I'll work on printing out a custom measuring tool.

    Follow the same procedure. I'm assuming if you have a 20 W / Versus a 30 W. Mine is a manual focus. I've been getting pretty good images when I just hold the button at the top and turn the manual focus until three dot seem to line up. I get it as close as I can possibly get it. It seems to work, but I will try this. I've only had mine for two weeks. So I'm still testing and figuring out what works the best. Yes, I do have a 3-D printer. My lens is 110 x 110 that means I believe that I get 4 1/2 inches approximately by 4 1/2 inches. Light burn comes up. 4.33X 4.33 this is the measurement that came up during the set up. And discovery mode.

    I followed the instructions to find focus length as well as the calibration steps for a new lens. Is there away to adjust the focus beams? When I had my 290 lens, all the beams met in the middle when focused. Now with the new lens all the beams are spread apart. Is this able to be adjusted or will I need to manually find focus with a ruler each time? Thanks!

      When you find the perfect lens focus, note that distance. Then under the galvo head there should be screws holding each of the two red pointing lasers. Loosen these screws and manually move that red laser pointer to dead center of the main - center laser beam. Repeat for the second red pointer and then ALL three dots will be centered. Gently tighten each of the two red pointers snug, not "head bolt" tight, but, secure firmly. See my suggested lens focus method above as I think it will give you a perfect focus by the "burn average" method.... Hank

      yes, lightburn uses the ezcad driver hardware. lightburn is a more intuitive software- easier to use than ezcad2. my new cloudray fiber laser came with both programs. i preferred lightburn.

    • @lightburnsoftware7189
      @lightburnsoftware7189  Год назад

      For CO2 it would not be based on sound. It would be visual inspection and you can run a ramp test to help with finding the correct distance for your lens.

    • @lightburnsoftware7189
      @lightburnsoftware7189  2 года назад

      If your lines have zigzags it could be a few things. It could be that you have the speeds set to high for your machine or that physically you need to adjust something on your laser. If you have pictures and some additional information send us an email support@lightburnsoftware.com

    Why don't you guys just create a comment? Section on each profile and light burn so that people can put the notes on there about the focal height and stuff. Like that. Maybe even make it where it can show at the top of the screen at all times

      There is an option to add project notes to any project and also a checklist when you start a job. Since each lens is its own laser profile in LightBurn your best bet would be to use the Job checklist for the focal distance. We just released a video on this: ruclips.net/video/oRA-tJgANMc/видео.html
