Love you Momma Anna yang cantik! I am so grateful I was in Ubud from 1983 to 1986 when the central market was a local one filled with fruits and veggies and the land behind it was a field for kids to play in and not the parking lot for huge tourist buses. The place was still a local village and a center for traditional dance, arts, and crafts. You went to temple dances and no one had flash cameras and the trance dancing Virgin Goddess Girl’s were authentic. So simple, so breath-taking. I returned to live in Bali in 2004 but rarely return to Ubud...makes me too sad. But you Mama Anna and the wee and lovely Luna Tuna, you are blessings to all who meet you!
OMG that's me and my sister sitting on the left!!! 😁 such a coincidence that I found your Vlog. Luna ist simply adorable baby. We enjoyed the breakfast and the beautiful cafe so much. All the best for you two 💕🤗
Luna is starting to look more like you. She adapts very well in your travels and she is just a lovely independent child and you've done a great job as a mother. I live in Southern California and there are no children I know that's your daughter's age that is ever going to see and experience what Luna already has at Less Than 3 years of age. You spend quality time with her rather than most mothers I see with their children constantly on the phone with texting and Facebook while they're shopping at the market with their kids and they're screaming and yelling in the basket.
Local culture for me is jumping in a warm pool a shady corner and just jumping and aquasizeing for an hour or two every day or twice or three times a day. I love the pools and then the great fruits and fish stuff from the sea.
Arrived in ubud nov 5 for my astrology retreat. Finished today, staying at melati cottages. Here for 4 days, then canggu. Love watching your videos. I am almost 60 and your vibe is the best! #peace #collagebabe #Bali2019
Your video brought back memories of note. I have travelled extensively in my life and Ubud, Legian and Kuta in Bali were the best 10/10 ever. You missed so much in Ubud. You should try the Suckling Pig and the Betek Betutu (smoked duck, which you order from the Artist Cafe 24 prior your supper date). These are the National dishes in Bali and are wonderful, especially the duck. The oldest temple in Bali is also in Ubud and a must see. The sunrise ridge walk is a must and the fish foot massages cannot be missed. I am a man and hate shopping and malls; however the Ubud market kept me busy for a whole day and I negotiated prices and came back with a load of good quality stuff that I bought dirt cheap. To give you an idea, I left my country with a suitcase weighing 5.5 kg and returned with 23 kg after using stuff I packed for day to day convenience. It did not break the bank and I am set for a long while. Ubud is a must on any visit and the Monkey Forest from the main entrance may not be missed. Good travels to You!
i have made videos about most of the things you listed if you wanna get nostalgic take a look in the bali playlist thanks so much for sharing your tips i always wanna get more
I had no idea you could eat a delicious meal in Australia for $3 regularly - hahaha. I think if you go to these tourist spots maybe, but in 4 trips, this is the only time I ever did - Bali still has lots to offer if you get away from the Aussies - luckily they all seem to go to a couple places so they are easy to avoid.
Douglas Ulyate , keep in mind Ubud market is food produce up to about 9am, you will see local ladies buying for their days meals. After 9am all the tourist stuff comes out.
No problems bringing the cock bottle openers home - I just bought the smaller ones lol. We found the same issue with parking our scooter along the Ubud main drag. They would only allow us to park out front their restaurants/cafes if we were going in there to eat/spend money.
oh i can bring one just no room for that big cock in our bag hahahaha. the parking situation is insane. i am all for making a buck off of tourists but greed is gross no matter how you slice it
So hard to find videos on living in Bali or Thailand without being directed to posts of old fat bald men with a young local girl in tow. This is a great source of real info, thank you
I wandered into that palace on my first day and a nice old, white gentleman that somehow lives there showed me an area closed off to public. It was beautiful! Then he took me to his room and asked me to make love to his younger( maybe late 30's) girlfriend because he can't. What a nice guy! 😂 I kindly declined and his attitude changed..
the last place we were in didn't have ac and i never missed it, but it was dayus family home. cement not cinderblocks. shall i tell her shes not local enough¿ hahaha
Wondering if you have or will do a video of dental care in Bali. Lots of Aussies get dental work done at Bali 911. I got an implant done there and very happy. Lots of westerners are very Leary of using services in other countries
Travel Mama Anna Von I really hope that your travel insurance covers for accidents if you do not have a bike licence - most of them don’t. Hear about tourists coming off bikes all the time and then expecting a GO FUND ME page to pay for the damage just because they thought they were exempt from following normal rules outside their country . I really enjoy your videos - safe travels x
that.s on my next business card for sure - anna von frances esq. impressive and inspiring. hahahah can you imagine - i would definitely hire a woman with a card like that.
How long are you able to stay if eating n working too :) at cafe? Oh and 5x more from your daily budget👎 please share a bit about your tips for local living affordably without getting tourist trapped 🙏
Let me answer your question. You may stay at a cafe as long as you want as long as you keep ordering food or drink and no queue. If you are looking for free wifi at a cafe, I would recommend you to buy a mobile internet package, it costs less than $10 for 15 GB internet and 300 minutes phone call a month.
The Starbucks in Ubud is like a 5 star hotel. it's beautiful and sad. both. We didn't go, but if we had, we would have hit the full triad of tourism in Ubud. The basic package. We are Mexican. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@TravelMamaAnnaVon thank you for responding. Im in california and just wanted a little background on u guys thanks. I do like your style of vids and info.
Hi Anna, great video as always, i am also visiting Bali for my 6th time and i was just in Ubud this past few days, this place has grown so much and personally, in my opinion, has become a circus, a town full of ridiculous white people appropriating Balinese culture, trying so hard to be something they are not, the masses of tourism in this small town has become too much to handle, prices are way up everywhere you go and one thing you need to discuss in your videos is how annoying and desperate is to negotiate everything you buy everywhere, vendors here have become too greedy and will charge you five times more what the real value is, it completely turns me off. Ubud is a great place but do it your way, you will get scammed no matter what, for me, Ubud has lost its charm, and one last thing I noticed, locals are not as friendly anymore, there see a tourist as a walking dollar bill.
its hard to criticize cause tourists are also what is envinmentally ruining bali and none of us are going to stick around and pick up the garbage either. i didn't have that experience in ubud but with a kid we didn't do and of the tourist stuff except this one day we made this video and yes people were so rude to us everywhere we went. but it was only in the tourist area off the three main streets is bali as usual. hahaha i think we just have to work harder to get away now and we were there in the low time which really helped. i hope the country starts restricting tourism. i would gladly go every three years instead of every year to spread it out like a lottery.
GIRL!!! You know it! Milk is puss. Luna and I don't touch it (unless it's in cake and then we look the other way ahahah) but she is obsessed with the idea of drinking milk cause all her cartoons are pimping milk as health -she always says "drink your milk mommy" and then we have oat milk we make together hahaha.
Luna has a biological father who abused us both and abandoned her. @javiernatarenotattoo he is a wealthy well known tattoo artist in Guatemala. he doesn't call, send money or answer the phone when she calls - which is less all the time. feel free to ask him any questions you have about where he went. i only know that i am here and we are having a blast.
@@TravelMamaAnnaVon WOW..what a POS! I'm glad that you decided to get you and your daughter out of that toxic environment. Being he was abusive it's best that he doesn't see Luna. Keep up the great work. Your definitely a amazing mom and your giving Luna a damn awesome life. I wish more women had the moxie to get out of a toxic relationship but sadly they chose to stay. Then the circle repeats itself. Glad you broke it for Luna. Thank you for replying to my comment.
thank you so much for these kind words. i dont think women choose to stay, i just dont think they have the same options i had to leave and to make a living. i think we seriously underestimate financial abuse. that is what brought us back to guatemala and how he continued to abuse me for a long time after i stopped seeing him, with money. i clawed my way out and i had some helping hands and i feel lucky, but only that, just really lucky
I don’t know if it is a money thing. At 3 years old I was watching my daughter and her husbands twins. Baby girl was playing Sleeping Beauty laying on the floor. Brother walk up to her and kicked her then said F~ing B!tch get up. I begged for her to leave. 3 month later she was found dead by her babies...

I think Luna is gonna have the most interesting childhood ever! You guys are really living and I'm living vicariously through y'all. Love it.

i was staying right off of bisma. go to warung gauri and you will see around there is really nice
I can't make out the name of the cafe they're eating at for breakfast. Does anyone know?
clear cafe - my fav hippie spot in ubud. it is a MUST for any visitor. i think the link is in the description below. good luck and enjoy

do you live in cinder block homes with no ac in your being-a-local videos?

how you get luna at your back?
the carrier lies down on a flat surface like a table and she sits in it then i put it on like a backpack.
