I just had the little white piece and spring pop out. Thankfully I noticed and found both little pieces. Took a minute to figure it out while hoping I wouldn't have to buy another.

You are a lifesaver! I could not get my key fob open and was afraid I was going to break it. Your method was so easy and I just used a toothpick to pop the battery out. Thanks for posting this! I also had no idea that little light was there. I kept my key fob in my wallet all the time and just used the push button on the door to get in.
