Now 59 (well, chronologically speaking), I fell in love with silent movies after seeing Buster Keaton in "Cops" on the "Silents Please" TV show. It pleases me to see quite a few younger folks in the audience at the San Francisco Silent Film Festival. And Clara Bow was great, giving her roles everything she had, right up to her last appearance in Hoop-la (1933).
Thank you for this post ..Clara certainly was a beautiful and very talented actress. She did more with a look, and a raised eyebrow , than many words could say !
At 14:50 the old man in the museum -- that is Tom Ricketts. He directed the very first film in Hollywood and directed over 300 titles in the silent era. Also renown as a Shakespeare actor. And is a total hoot in Another Thin Man, where he plays an elderly butler.
An excellent find. Miss Arzner's silent work has been very difficult to see until recently so one is grateful to have a chance to enjoy this, especially in a decent copy...
Thanks so much for posting! I love it and Clara Bow. I am reading her biography - what a life. Some people don't know that when the theaters showed these silent films they had their own orchestra to play the music to go with the movie. How cool is that?
Remind me to bring a little music next time. Bow and Rogers would team again in 1927, this time on original Best Picture "Wings". Too bad the nitrite print had decayed so much, but not unusual.
We'll it's after midnight(12 am) and I'm up watching silent movies from the 1920's, their interesting, I like them.
It's true, a picture is worth a thousand words.
Clara was very expressive, and the greatest actress of her era.
Thank you for sharing this treasure.
What a star she was, wonderful!

Really enjoyed this, would love to read the original script. Clara Bow communicated more "silently" than most of us can with words
Very cute film, I love the silents, and Clara and Buddy Rogers (later married to Mary Pickford) make an adorable couple. Thanks for posting.
The “it” girl indeed;the little tomboy that came from desperate poverty in the Bronx;Beautiful
Was trying to adjust the volume but realized it was a silent movie..duh😁😂

It's not hard to see why Clara was America's favorite IT girl
she had something........
Is it weird that I'm seventeen and am in love with this sort of entertainment?
No, not weird. Shows that you have eclectic taste.
Yael Feder No, it shows you have good taste!
Yael Feder Not at all! I'm 24 and I love it too :-).
Yael Feder
Its good when younger generations ditch today's artificial garbage for some classic quality entertainment.
I'm 21.
Definitely not weird! I'm 17 too and Clara Bow is my muse!
A female director? That was extremely rare back then.
I just like how the baby in the beginning is like wtf
