I love how everytime they discuss, they are both right, with valid points, but can't find a middle ground.
Mayckon Willian exactly! They’re just competitive and want to be right and want to win 😂😂😂😂😂
Mayckon Willian the whole theater v. theater education discussion was like girl why are you debating this bob literally went to school for this lol
Let’s be real, most of the time only bob has valid points 😂😂
Mugiwara legit monet is me and bob is my brother even if I know deep down he’s right I will go to the bitter end with my invalid point
They can’t find a middle ground for filth 🤣🤣🤣
"what does one do with a bacheor's degree besides drag" lmfao

Hahahaha
Sibling rivalry, the one where “you let me finish” 😂😂😂
Where's the lie tho???
But beyonce had the best video of the year
They will literally argue for 10 minutes with both of them thinking the argument is about something different 😂 SO SIBLING
Y’all don’t understand how excited this upload made me.😂
Chandler Ross same girl! I live for Sibling Rivalry! 🥰😍😍😍🥰✨✨✨💎🤩💖
same this is my favorite podcast
girl i'm kiki'ing already and it aint even start
Damn near lost it at “Jasmine Masters has a masters degree” !!!
Seth Solis She does, she is the pioneer of Jush Studies
Javier Mendoza anna oop
@@JavierMendozaAvila lmao
You sure about that? Because I heard Jasmine say on a a live cast that she quit highschool early and didn't graduate.
Joy FortyTwo it’s a joke-
How do these two manage to genuinely have constant arguments about EVERRRRRYYYYYYTHING and still keep us entertained
Only siblings can do that.
A decrescendo is the same as a diminuendo, Monet just hates when Bobs right 😂👏🏼
In music school they HATE when you use the word "decrescendo" for diminuendo, you're taught that "diminuendo" is more correct... but I agree that they're the same thing
lol Monet also tried correcting Bob that Vivacious came in episode 2 in season 6 even though Bob was right and Vivacious was in episode 1.
George Bond she just can’t allow it. So many people can’t handle being around people like Bob who are consistently correct. She gets so worked up.
"opera's different you wouldn't understand"
honestly she is insufferable sometimes
@@Vanessa-fd3mr YES !! I find it annoying. Didactic describes Bob, the drag queen!! Luv Ya !!
2 minutes in and already the first argument. LOVE IT
Stephen pina we are so blessed and well fed on this good Tuesday
lmfao not even 2 mins in
🤣🤣🤣
Decrescendo is literally just music getting quiet lol.
Monet: it is way to much to get into right now
I think its more the difference between 'decrescendo' and diminuendo because decrescendo isn't a proper term
Decrescendo isn’t a thing though, it’s called a diminuendo
@@milosummers5064 is it a matter of it not existing in singing? because growing up and playing violin, decrescendo was a term used often to describe playing quieter.
@@milosummers5064 Wrong! Decrescendo is indeed a proper term. One look into books such as the New Harvard Dictionary of Music confirms this.
@@justinklym5603 It is a proper term though and is used all the time by master class clinicians and in all types of musical lectures/presentations. There is no difference between decrescendo and diminuendo.
I thought monet’s powder puff was a cookie
I thot so too
God bless the one place on this earth I can watch two black men dressed as gorgeous women argue about THEATRE EDUCATION!
This is the representation America needs in our school systems!
Period!!!!!👏👏👏👏🙌🙌
Lydia Williams you have it right here.
"Jasmine masters doesn't even have an elementary degree" 😭😭😭😭😭😭
These are the only two I totally don't mind watching ramble for 45 minutes :).
Does anyone spend half the argument agreeing with Bob then flip to Monet then back to Bob, this is literally me every single episode
Logged hours basically translates to muscle memory. And muscle memory can either make you more proficient (because it's engrained) or make you more complacent (because you've been doing it forever).
Logged hours can help guarantee someone's ability, but you can log hours in other ways than through a university. Like a resume, references, portfolios, etc.
Practice makes permanent, not perfect. Sometimes people are taught something incorrectly, or an instructor doesn't notice a problem and correct it. Then that person goes into the world doing the wrong thing and not trying to learn to get even better.
You also want an experienced hairdresser or several to look at and improve your technique througout.
I know I'm late on this but I have to chime in. This is based on the industry. A hairdresser learn how chemicals react and understands hair and it's growth. A lawyer doesn't need to know things like that a very smart person can learn to be a lawyer. A pilot goes through lots of simulations. Nurses Doctors etc. need school. Carpentry, home decor etc. No need for school. Its all based on yhe industry.
Monet’s onesie looks so soft.
I want it
I’m really watching drag queens argue about pilots and planes wow
it all goes downhill after this. welcome to the club.
The only reason to study arts at a higher level is to learn from someone considered a master in their field. It's basically just an expensive apprenticeship. BUT, you would not have access to those masters without going to their institution.

XmenTrash Hi Gowon, I just saw Gowon girl
Love the podcast! Long time listener, first time caller. My unsolicited $0.02: an arts education (music, dance, visual arts) is essential to the mental health of any kid. We need trained teachers to teach these kids. There is never shame in teaching.
Beautifully Said!
I screamed when I got the notification. I’m actually addicted to this podcast 😌✨
they have chemistry like no other pair, I swearrrr
Same, i was so tired of re runs
Bob got me agreeing with Monet. I'm mad. Lol Point is, I'd rather someone who logged the hours with guidance of a professional than someone who logged it by trial and error. Plus "Ryan" went to school and logged his hours w/a professional. Idc that it's his first day. Age doesn't matter, adequate experience does.
Listomaj 🗣You better say that. And low key, I, out of ignorance, assumed that Bob was more educated than Monet.
Monet is right.
I trained as an Profondo... I’ll tell you...
Opera is extremely demanding.
Pardon my ignorant ass, what is a Profondo? Is It the subgenre of a vocal tessitura (Alto, Mezzo, Baritone, ecc.)?
When they kept saying “I let you finish let me” is legit an actual argument we’ve all made with our siblings lol
Here's the thing, with the pilot example. I want someone who has passed standards/practices and also has experience. Look at the situation with Sully his knowledge and experience came together to save lives.
“Monét, I am falling apart” 😂😂
Someone turn on the AC
Sibling Rivalry S2 EP 13: The one where Bob attacks Monét for 47 minutes straight
Btw the difference between an EP and an LP can be tracks, but generally is based off of play time. So an EP is between 10min and 30min in total play time.
Did y'all really forget that its not just hours involved here, there are strong reasons why a degree denotes greater knowledge than training oneself to pass a standardised test.
Yes, you can of course construct knowledge and talent yourself (especially if the thing in question is less technically complex) but the benefit of going through the education system is that there is an enormous number of external resources (books, classes, assignments, tests, TEACHERS who have a wealth of knowledge far beyond your own also informed by a diverse array of their own teachers). These things are essential to reaching a holistic understanding that one person on their own terms just simply does not have the capacity to create for themselves.
Barely a minute in and they’re already arguing 😂😂
I’ve been waiting like 84 years for the next ep 😭😭finallyyy
Been going absolutely through it lately. Seeing that notification come through was a god send.
Love you guys
I hope it gets better for you

Sibling Rivalry S2 EP13: The one about Opera
Y'all i died when bob did the monique voice from precious 4:00
OK OK Ryan the pilot is not going to be the 1st officer on the plane. He is going to have a senior pilot with him. He will be a 2nd officer or navigator to raise his hours first..So education is relevant based on industry..Doctors------->should absolutely go to school, hair stylists should be able to prove their knowledge on an exam THEN do their hours under a mentor...Plumbers and electricians work that way!!!
3:59 omg Bob nailed Mo'Nique cry scene 💀😂
Also wtf is bob talking about of course if you have experience doing something you’re more likely to be reliable. Why do you think doctors have 2-3 years of med school and then more than double that in residency years?
At my high school if you didnt go to college or went to community college, you were seen as less than and wouldn’t get acknowledged for any of your accomplishments. So I get what Bob is saying. I also get what Monet is saying. You want someone with experience and training. Also I love y’all so much 🥰🥰
A Bob and Monét festival could take my husband and I’d still give them all my money
Charlie’s Rib YOUR USERNAME. I live for it
I always read these comments in Charlie’s weird accent
This has been the most "LET ME FINISH" ass episode in the whole series 💀
Bob being the mom from precious had me hollering!
I think there’s a discussion happening here that’s focusing on talent/natural ability vs. practice to hone a craft, but there’s also a hint of theoretical knowledge that Bob was advocating for. I think if a person has a natural ability and talent for something, then I don’t think they should be held back from being able to do the career but I think there’s something gained from supervised hours to ensure there’s a strong knowledge base. To go with their cosmetology example, you can understand how to cut hair well or color it well, but maybe the person is not able to do this across a wide scale population. Or, maybe they have a strong grasp on how to color hair but maybe lack a strong sense of color theory or how different hair colors can impact skin tone or how it can frame a face. There’s a lot that supervised work hours or intern hours for licensing or certification that is really beneficial and should not be bypassed. You benefit from both, but that practical experience is really helpful.
Harrison Ford probably has the knowledge to pass the Standards and Practices. He ain't flying me anywhere.
LOL!! Exactly!!!
🙄😝 Right?
S/O to Bob for using the quote from Precious! 🤣🤣🤣
that monique impression SENT ME!!
Pleaseeeee, do a episode of "Gay Bars"

When Monet pull out them SILICONES 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Bob... "these warm as hell"😭😭😭😭😭😭😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂i loveeeee them🙏🏾💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛💛
Bob, am siding with Monet with the certification topic. Yes,it is true that someone can take a test and pass, and it also can be said that if a person can past a particular test he or she knows what they are doing. However, it is also important that a person pursuing a particular art form be monitored by an instructor, and log a specific amount of hours under the supervision of an expert in said field.
A person can come off the street and take a standardized test and pass, it shows that they know a lot about the topic. On the other hand a person pursuing a degree or certificate could probably pass that same test too --even though they are at the halfway mark in their studies.
Logged supervised hours is important, it sets a standard for a particular industry, it minimizes fraud, it limits fuck-ups.
Jamaul Joseph 👏👏👏👏
My uncle is someone who just watches RUclips videos to pass whatever he needs to. But does he ACTUALLY understand the depth of what he is “learning” or have a passion for it? Nope. He forgets over time.
“If you have an Emmy I have a Grammy...“
I‘m so happy I get this stuff 😂💀
It does look like monet read her name off the paper🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It all boils down to Bob having a huge chip on his shoulder for having dropped out of school
For real lol
He only had one more year!
Bob usually wins arguments but Bob was so wrong about standards and practices tests part of this. when someone practices something for more hours than someone else, most likely they will be better than someone who did it well at once. she used specific examples but that doesn't stand for the vast majority. brains know something better the most they do it, period. that's science. there are exceptions, but you cannot argue with that.
Ryan studied law for 4 years. He passed his test.
Liam studied the standards and practices test for a few months and he passed his test.
these are absolutely NOT comparable. If neither of them touched law again for the next 3 years, and then they both retook the test again there is a MUCH more likely chance that someone like Ryan would pass it.
Bob is siding with the education system which is so wrong lol standardized tests are what's ruining the educational system and everyone who's in it knows that. Precisely because a Liam can be regarded by people as an equal to Ryan is why it's wrong. ingrained EXPERIENCE will always trump scoring better on ONE specific standardized test.
Law is actually public information, so if someone sat at home and learned them word for word and trained their persuasive skills, they could produce the same work as those that went to school i.e beauty gurus are professional and making money, but not all of them went to beauty school. I was even given my GCSE Maths exam 2 years early and got an A grade, so I spent my GCSE years learning Further Maths and Statistics because my school knew 2 more years of education I’d already grasped was a waste of time. Bob isn’t saying 100% of the time but he’s right in saying why should it take countless hours in a classroom, when someone with a natural talent that could produce the same level of education could take the same end of year test and pass, why is that not enough? This spreads across sciences, arts, most courses you’d find really.
Bob also never said you don’t need the experience, he’s just saying you shouldn’t need a degree or school counting your hours to prove you have the same. I think you’re actually fighting the same argument as him.
Law is also ever changing, so a degree from 20 years ago, even with experience could mean nothing with a change of government. In which people just starting to learn would be more equipped with up to date knowledge and less clouded by previous law even with no court experience.
@@lilnastyy1604 You took beauty gurus an example, so let me reply with another example:
Lacey goes to make up school for 3 years. They teach her how to work with every skin type, colour, texture, ecc. She gets her degree and stars working.
Stacy has natural talent. She gets notice in the beauty industry because of her RUclips following. She also stars working.
They both get the offer to do some famous people makeup. Who would you trust? Lacey or Stacey? I'd personally feel a lot more comfortable with Lacey. Dunno about you.
@@kiliaduicaps I also listed others too so you could read those.
But to go off of your example, let’s take beauty, which can also be influenced with creativity. Just because someone learns the basics doesn’t mean they have the creativity to pull off more than someone with natural talent, for example lets take DRAG QUEENS.
Lol Monet I’m from the Bahamas and he didn’t scam all of us 😂😂😂
Think about how many actors have become great musicians vs how many musicians have become great actors.
Music, especially "classical" is about studying a craft that has essentially been well-defined and "perfected" over the years. There are clear, tangible standards and rules on how to sound, play, coordinate, conduct etc (if you play an 'A' instead of a 'B', it's simply wrong...if you're playing 50 cents flatter than you're stand partner, you'll hear it). There are defined scales, chords, and progressions to learn, and right and wrong ways of playing them.
Acting is more ambiguous - every person brings something different and there's no "right" or "wrong" way to act...it's more about being convincing, and even that's super debatable.
Monet definitely read it off that paper!! 😂
WAIT!? This came out today!?!
EXCUSE ME
DID I JUST BINGE WATCH EVERY EPISODE RELEASED up to TODAY!?
Mmm aweeright
This was my Anna Ooop moment
This is the first episode where I was on Monet’s side of the arguments, I felt like Bob was arguing just to argue in this one lolol
Y'all cant never agree on anything😂😂 makes the show this is how my sis and I argue
Bob's right. I have four arts degrees, double major in English and Film, double minor in CMCL and AADS and I work freelance making less than 30 g's a year. So yeah, shit ain't worth the paper it is printed on!!
That sounds like ONE degree with two majors and two minors. Still only one degree.
When bob said jasmine masters has a masters I fell out💀
This episode made me so happy. This is my favorite RUclips series and I’m also going to school for opera performance. Love you guys!!
Such great chemistry together! I was rolling on the floor laughing the whole time. Love you guys ❤️ truly such talented people
You guys are a joy to watch! Keep it up!

this is one of my favourites by far. love the opening of this conversation because it definitely brings important attentions to the internalized biases many of us have against folks without formal education
I looooove watching older episodes I've spent this entire quarantine watching all of them!! you two are so entertaining thanks for creating!!! Love Jesse
y’allllll when they filmed this monét had probably just returned to as5 as a lipsync assassin and did juice (or was abt to) and here she is singing it

“Higher education is the second biggest scam in history” thank you, finally ❤️🙄
I'M SO HAPPY YOU BROADS ARE BACK. LOVE YALL
Can you imagine Bob being your high school drama teacher
These two sometimes are unbelievable in their arguments. I see Bob's point of view on things. But Monét's points here especially with flying are SPOT ON. Just because someone passed a test doesn't make them more "EXPERIENCED". I would MUCH rather have someone with 3yrs flying experience over someone who just passed a test a week prior. And i think that goes for just about everything when it comes too an occupation.
Barely two minutes in and they’re already at it! You gals crack me up!
I will never get over 12:27 makes me die laughing everytime 😂😂😂😂!!!!!!!
Not even 10 seconds in and you already fighting for a name, thats why I love both of you 😂♥️
This was just what I needed tonight, everything, :)
These two are everything. BOB in that wig and blue dress DRAMA!!!
This whole episode was just one big ass argument IM LIVING
if i hear "standards and practices" one more time...
I agree with Monet when it comes to being more comfortable with someone with logged hours
Found the video!! 😂😂. Monet with her sponge on the table😂😂😂. I love this show❤️
I like mostly agree with Monet (which I usually side with Bob) but it really just seems like Bob is arguing that there should be more access to official certification other than a college education, which I agree with. It just seemed like they needed to argue about something they agreed on. I still watched the whole thing, laughed, and will continue to watch so 🤷🏽♂️
Y'all need couple of those silent fans in the room to keep cool. I have a degree for Pharmacy but haven't done it in years; I'd have to re educate myself to do the duties.
