That seems more fitting for the dragon blood sorcerer, to be honest. My thoughts on this subclass are that the level 14 ability essentially plays out like being an additional Mystic Arcanum, since it's basically a beefed up Cone of Cold with more versatility. So, something that I think would fit the Dragon Lord Warlock lore even more while focusing on invoking the patron's power is trading that out for a once per long rest casting of Illusory Dragon (with the same matching you chosen element restriction as the current one). Also, while I'm here, the level 10 should probably be "deal half damage instead of no damage to creatures immune to your element" instead of "treat immunity as resistance" since, by strict rules as written, that just makes you deal full damage since you ignore resistance already. Or specify that this instance of resistance can't be ignored, if still wanting it to play off of subclass/class/feat traits other than ignoring resistance for resistant foes. Does Tulok even see comments that are replies to other comments? Was it a waste of space to mention tweaking the wording of a feature here?
@@Shalakor I think most dms would be forgiving of the wording, the intent of the ability is clear. Illusory dragon would be absolutely perfect too as a bonus arcanum.

I never realized Dragon Breath wasn't on the warlock spell list, if there was a spell that should get better while also not being able to get worse, that feels like the spell you know?
I think cause this is a warlock video it's a great moment to argue that everyone rollplays them wierd. Making a pact with a warlock is a business transaction not an oath or worship. It makes more sense to say a cleric or a paladin lose their powers upsetting their benefactor or else going against their earlier oath. But the warlock made a bargain to get powers. Like Captain Jack Sparrow asking the bargain of his soul on exchange for the black pearl after 13 years. But the deal can be different from that aswell. It could've been a kill contract or something. The point is that the warlock either paid this debt already or owe their patron something. If your warlock has already paid the debt then they have no risk of losing the payment ie their powers. But if they want more power ie to level up. They have to ask for another job perhaps or else it may already have been worked into the earlier contract that the payment would grow over time. Alternatively they could have a deal where they owe the patron something later which is what I believe Vax did in the first critical role campaign idk I didn't watch the whole thing for lack of free time. Point of this comment is that I think warlocks losing their powers is a bit over stated and over memed as clerics and palidns should really have more risk of this. Especially paladin cause they're actually more powerful than warlocks in a dmg dealing sense and usually an ac sense. But hey what do I know it's ur campaign after all and I may just be preaching to the quier here
Ive always chosen to believe the Genie patrons are like... high-power, Lords and Ladies of the Genie world. Like, borderline demigods, if not actual demigods. Similar vein to the Archfey. And, in that vein, as well as the justification for Celestial patrons... its not that weird for a very old and powerful dragon to reach levels of influence and power that they could easily grant Pacts to aspiring warlocks. Hell, there are literally Celestial Dragons that exist in the Heavens in the forgotten realms. And, honestly, in the same vein as a Genie patron, as well as how dragons normally act, what better display of wealth and power is there than a cadre of warlocks serving you abroad? Thats like... a number of steps up from just powerful items.
I might just add a specification that the patron dragon has to be a certain minimum age/category - e.g. ancient. That way you don't have the problem of it being able to be killed with anything resembling ease.

Am I the only one thinking of fun ways use the elemental spells thing with spells like Armor of Agathyst (maybe potential dragon sorcerer multi class to add cha mod to that damage)
I'm not a big fan of every dragon subclass and race just having pretty much the same handful of elemental abilities and such. I think a really cool idea would be abilities based on a hoard like you can set up a space equal to 10 times your proficency bonus in which you have perfect sense of that area nothing can leave or enter the area without you knowing perhaps even having advantage on all attacks made in this area.

I do like this subclass. As a huge fan of draconic stuff, my main is Draconic sorcerer, I can see this being a lot of fun and lots of power. So many spells can be reflavored to add to a Draconic feel, like mage armor giving you scales of a dragon and what not. But 1 question, based on some of the clips you played, would that make Iroh a Draconic warlock????
My guess here is that thematically Iroh was a fiend patron up until he lost his son had his change of heart. He then found his new patrons with the dragons Ren and Shaw. Not sure I agree with it but it's the only way I can see it happen
The problem with this homebrew subclass is that it does not focus around a dragon type but in general as it has spells that can protect or deal any type of elemental damage
A genie is CR 11 so it's atleast about as strong as a level 20 adventurer so I don't see the problem there. Your patron as dragon would likely be atleast an adult if not a full on Great wyrm.
I guess that they might not give Dragons as a Warlock thing because Draconic Sorcerer is a thing; Dragons give people magic powers though having people bathe in their blood and giving them magical offspring. That's my theory though...
The exploitation of all chances to achieve success can be a dark path, but with the draconic arrogance to back it up, you can laught at morals that the mere mortals hold dear, because you have the power of no ordinary lizard, but the elemental incarnation of a god with the power and magnificence to make the impossible like making a Tangle the Lemur build that could hold as much quality as one of Tulok's builds or the most simple like open a tea shop. No matter what, is all done in perfection because dragons are only defined in every place by their power and awesomeness.

Huh suddenly I want to make Trogdor my patron.
FULL IROH, WISE OLD GENERAL WITH TRAUMA.
Nice comment for the algorithm. Though this build's looking scary.
Any chance these could find their way into a sourcebook someday? Cuz... I would very much like to have that
This is great... but i still want an elemental focused draconic paladin.
I guess that they might not give Dragons as a Warlock thing because Draconic Sorcerer is a thing; Dragons give people magic powers though having people bathe in their blood and giving them magical offspring. That's my theory though...
Now you are warlock
The exploitation of all chances to achieve success can be a dark path, but with the draconic arrogance to back it up, you can laught at morals that the mere mortals hold dear, because you have the power of no ordinary lizard, but the elemental incarnation of a god with the power and magnificence to make the impossible like making a Tangle the Lemur build that could hold as much quality as one of Tulok's builds or the most simple like open a tea shop. No matter what, is all done in perfection because dragons are only defined in every place by their power and awesomeness.
