Heck in this video an old Ford outpulled the GMC with a broken hub! Brand loyalty is funny - not talking about you in particular but just a lot of the Chevy fanbois say the same thing. I like NBS/OBS GM trucks but I wouldn't for a second not admit they have shit suspension components from the factory. Hell I'll give you a free one. I've never had a single problem off road with my XJ....but the factory steering box is garbage - hasn't broken, just sloppy and loose (which happens to be a GM designed Saginaw box. Funny.). Doesn't matter who makes it - all of them have their own problems. Good luck with your Duramax's tie rods. I'm upgrading my Jeep's to be safe. Nice Cummins btw.

These Chevy small blocks have a sound of their own the amount of torque and rpms are amazing .Sounds as if some are stroked for sure,no engine can replicate the beautiful music.
I miss it so much. Can always tell the guys with no experience. Roll in the throttle soft and once you start getting some momentum then give her the beans.

Looks like you may need to look at your rules for drive lines. Rules around us are that you have to have loops minimum 1/2" wide by 1/4" thick on each part of driveshaft to keep it from flying around if you break a u-joint. Also have to have 1/16" steel bands 3" wide around the u-joints (360 degrees) to keep shrapnel from hurting someone. Great work on the video though! Pickup pullers definitely help keep those local parts stores going!
Parts stores should jump at the chance to sponsor truck pulls. It is likely a great investment for them since some of the pullers will need to buy the parts that they broke at the event. Lol. Thanks for watching J Scholl.

@@chubbysumo2230 Anything that has a tread centerline too far outside of the "ground point" on the steering axis is going to stress the everlovin' heck out of the steering components. I bet if the GM guys just ran a wheel with less offset and were careful to not steer sharply and rub, even stock tie rods would live for something else to break instead :)
Some of the sleds where I live have spikes to really stop the pullers. I wonder if that one had those too and they were set down. Dude took a running start and it still didn't budge.
Did run in south Dakota for 18yrs hooked to the hot foot which was the small town sled, then hooked to one of the iron man sleds. Everytime had different distance results depending on sled setup and track conditions
Uk theres going to be a run on u joints and tie rods at the local auto parts store come Monday morning and a lot of excuses why there not making it to work
It's coming from the clutch they are slipper clutches. You slip the piss out of them and they have centrifugal weight that helps hold the clutch once it gets wound out and grabs all the way,
I would like to see all of the truck manufacturers donate their trucks from the assembly line and lets see how well built they are.

The sled was broke. If you look closely at 7:04 the sled operator changed his green lights to red with the intention of stopping the pull.
