Hey everyone. I got so many comments at once for this vid that it'll take me forever to answer them so please be patient. I'm practicing Justice riffs as we speak. I know I don't play every riff exactly correct, that's a combo of playing them wrong my whole life, playing them live and not wanting to detune a whole step, and also just not knowing. But my aim is to play them as well as I can at this time. I'm learning a lot and having a blast doing this. Thanks for watching and for all the awesome comments and tips. :) -Mike
So awesome!
If you'll do justice you should check the riff James plays in the frayed ends of sanity during Kirk's solo, it's probably the best one
Lol, asking RUclipsrs to be patient? Haha nice try, we’ll never learn! Nice vid, dude! 👍🏻
I know it's kinda off topic but do anyone know a good website to stream newly released series online ?
where is bridge riff from battery
Everyone seems to forget the riff James plays in Battery when Kirk is doing the interlude before the solo. It’s such a badass riff
Everyone? Most people not only don't forget, but it's a lot of people's favorite riff in that song. Who are these people that are forgetting it? Weird...
why is not on this list
Obey your master
You will learn riff faster
I wish
Sign me up
The Master of Puppets pre chorus riff is criminally underrated here.
my favourite riff from the song
@@dorukstar7377for me too
one of kirk's best riffs. if not the best
When Kirk actually did his job
It should be №1 basically
6:50 me 2 seconds into playing the riff
He's only gone and done it again, the absolute madman, love these vids man!
You know it’s a great album when the “worst” riff kicks ass
Ngl disposable heroes intro is one of my favs
Can't wait for justice!
Clyine same!
implying he can play dyers eve for #1 without going to ER for destroyed wrist
Same here!
@@silexaurelius or for the same thing for Blackened too!! lol
He did that
5:04 not a breakdown, more of an interlude. Great video!
More of a shimmy than a whatsi
The breakdown is the muted power chords
More of a solo
Again man, i love disposable heroes intro and bridge riff, they are in my top 10 also xd
AJFA video incoming?
Hopefully, then the rest of their albums :D
He´s going in order so OBVIOUSLY he will release the AJFA video
i also LOVE the bridge riff of disp heroes (leading into the blazing--if not that hard, relatively speaking--solo)... hated to see the intro n bridge riff at 31 n 29 heh. master of puppets (the song) gets repetitve for me, but hey, that's after thousands of listens. For the same reasons I rarely visit the Black Album anymore aside from My Friend of Misery and Wherever I may Roam, they never get old for me.
Love #6 and #4 #3 n #2 :-) Great playing and great channel.
Happy with more treble than last time.
Damage inc. bridge riff is definitely one of my top five Metallica riffs
that and the sanitarium riff at number 4 are my favorite he played
Do this for the first few Megadeth albums too!
Putting Sanitariums verse riff in the #24 spot is a little unfair I think. But still a great video.
My favourite to play is the outro riff to Battery (where you just hammer F, Bb, B, and F# power chords). So simple but aggressive
you didnt follow your own tip on how to play the MoP intro riff. switch to the middle finger!
I do at the end.
I think #15 would of been my #1 riff or that bridge part in Damage Inc. where he sings "We laugh, You scream and shout" Master Of Puppets is my all time favorite Metal album I listen to it practically everyday or at the very least I listen to certain songs off that album everyday
Well just finished the video and see you actually did put that Damage Inc. part as your #2 pick lol good choice \m/ (≥≤) \m/
Master of Puppets chorus is an easy top ten! But great playing
My fave riff is probably the Outro riff in Battery. So intense!
Next one is prrrooooobably going to be Rust In Peace, right? ;)
You. I don't like you.
Not so easy to do ;) I think it would take him more than a day.
@@irishRocker1 Also RiP has like 800 riffs on that album lol
Hey you stole my profile avatar
@@nickp3949 800 riffs on Holy Wars alone bruh. But I'm sure we all know the number one would be the harmonic riff right?
4:21 and 4:31 probably the best song they made in that album or maybe they're over all best song (yet very underrated)
Do Pantera-Cowboys from hell!!!
Coincidentally, i had my bass guitar in my hand when i clicked on this video, so i played along with you!
I hope youll do Hardwired too :) so much great riff there. (Love the series btw)
A bit too bassy, tonewise, but absolutely great playing. Bless you, dude!
I think Leper Messiah was a bit off, as the palm mutes are usually different sounding but hey, it was great nonetheless.
I honestly thought Number 2 was gonna be master of puppets, number 1 was gonna be Orion
Battery intro clean riff?
Johnny Marr Guitar Techniques plz!
The ...And Justice for All video will be 10 hours long with all of its riffs
And you can bet your ass I’ll watch all 10 in one sitting
Atta boy now we’re getting some aggressive bite off the strings. Treble ftw
I think you missed one riff in Sanitarium right after the bridge section riff. That riff, where the last solo starts. Maybe it is a part of the bridge section, but u didnt play it all. Anyway, amazing video.
#18 Disposable Heroes verse chug...easy way to remember the rhythm:
Shave and a haircut bum bum digga digga.
It works lovely
Why play the bass parts on guitar do you just not have a bass near or can't get a good tone it what?
Obey your…
MASTER! MASTER!
1:07, I always what to know that sound is?. Someone give me answers.
Disposable Heroes intro riff number 31??! Are you crazy? That's like top 5 at LEAST.
Here’s my top 10 (in no order) PS - I love your bad tab book videos. They totally messed me up in the 80’s.
DH - Intro
B - Intro
MoP - 2nd Intro Riff
DI - Bridge Riff
LM - Bridge Riff
B - Bridge Riff
MoP - Interlude
O - Cliff’s 1st lead fill near beginning
O - All of Cliff’s writing 4:00 and on (more than a riff)
S - Guitar Harmony right before KH’s last lead
While I'm not a big Metallica fan anymore, this series is cool. Blast of nostalgia. I appreciate it dude.
#29 Disposable Heroes (Bridge Riff). Sounds a bit wierd like that.... dont they play open E-string between the pull-offs?
kjn5991 they play it live like in the video but on the record it is played with open E‘s in between
I dare you to try and do this with the good Megadeth albums
When will top 0 bass lines of justice will come
pretty much 100% agree! especially with #2 and #1!
1:38 the best imo
You’re playing the intro to lepper messiah wrong. It’s played with double stops on the 3rd and 2nd frets of the A and D string. I’m not hating, I just didn’t know if you were aware of it or not
MIKE DO THE GREATEST TECHNIQUES OF MICK TAYLOR (ROLLING STONES).
You forgot about the Battery outro
You didnt change fingers on Puppets
Damage inc bridge riff is a master piece
6:50 - Me after metallica song playthrough.
The main riff in Leper Messiah is so underrated to me honestly
WHERES THE BREAK DOWN FOR BATTERY? Lol the comes after the solo and at the end of the song??? That was heavy riff
Bro how you putting the Leper Messiah bridge riff HIGHER than 'that' pre-bridge riff?
Even though Justice is still my favorite album, this made me realize Master is my favorite based on purely riffs
6:13 I was waiting for this the whole vidio and got nervous when I got to the end like “ he’s not even gonna include it ? !! “ but then I saw it 😂 kirks masterpiece
You kick ass! Not to be picky but James plays the intro to Damage Inc. a little differently. Check out my good buddy Ben Eller!
*chug-a-chuga-achuga*
Disposable Heroes intro riff is great, should be way higher.
Wrong absolutely riff bridge disposeoble Heroes watch Ben Ellier and lepper mesiach wrong
"Kirk Hammett: We were drinking at the Carlson house one night, and Lars turned on the tape deck: "Listen to this, man. Fostex Multitrack Mesa/Boogies with James playing the heaviest riff ever!" It was the main riff to 'Master of Puppets', which had been quadrupled on all four tracks and sounded super heavy. And I knew it immediately as this joke riff that James would always play on the D string. He just dropped it down to the low E string and it was suddenly this whole other thing."
"HAMMETT: I’ll tell you how the main [descending] riff to “Master of Puppets” came about. On the Ride the Lightning tour, James would always play the riff in the dressing room, but on the D string, and I’d play it simultaneously on the G string as a parallel-fourths harmony line. It sounded really dorky and funny. Then one day at rehearsal, James said, “Let me show you this really heavy song intro,” and proceeded to play that exact riff on the low E string. I said, “Ah, so you finally found a use for that dorky little thing!” It’s anything but dorky now."
"HETFIELD: "I remember writing the chorus to "Master of Puppets" in our living room and thinking it was too commercial, too obvious. "If it's too easy, something's wrong." That was kind of the Metallica mantra. Lars said, "No, no, it's really good. It's catchy." I thought, 'Well, maybe I'm the melody, catchy guy, and that's okay.' Cliff was certainly a bit part of the [writing] process. Musically, he was so well respected, that we'd often look to him for modulations, or where the next part should come from, or go. He just KNEW.""
''KIRK HAMMETT: James would show Cliff and me the riffs, and we'd build the songs from there. Some I'd already be familiar with. The main riff in ''Battery'', for instance: the first time I heard James play that was in England, on his acoustic guitar. We were watching THE YOUNG ONES on the BBC, and all of a sudden he started messing around with this sort of galloping rhythm. I said, ''Wow, that's cool''. And so when it came time to start learning stuff, I'd often hear a riff and say, ''Oh, okay. I know that one.""
"JAMES HETFIELD: The ''Battery'' intro happened pretty much out of boredom. I remember sitting on the couch at Carlson, not being able to sleep. Back then, when channels signed off at night, they'd play the national anthem, but Channel Four in the Bay Area played a classical piece [Faure's ''Pavane'']. It was such a great melody. I'd grab an acoustic, play along, and eventually wound up with a chord progression that got me thinking, WHAT WOULD BE THE ULTIMATE INTRO? I wanted something with a lot of build that would raise your hair up and give your goosebumps. The acoustic part starts, and it's building like an approaching storm. Something's coming. You can feel it. It starts off soft and quiet, then boom! The heaviness takes you to another level. I thought, 'Oh, man. This is how I want to start the record. This is how I want to start the show.'"
My favorite riff wasn’t included, the breakdown to battery. Not only that it’s my favorite metallica riff period
It sounds like you’re playing through my grandpa’s old Gorilla amp. It feels like I’m listening to an Exhorder album.
these vids are bonkers man
Ur downpicking is such ass......
Jk bestow uppn me your deadly downstroke power oh wise one!
Pre verse riffs = MAIN RIFFS (in Battery case, it's the verse riff)
I believe the correct ranking is:
1. Every riff off Master of Puppets
As low as possible: the intro of Break Stuff by Limp Bizkit
The second time through the Sanitarium chorus ends with 3-0-1 and not 3-2-1 ? (Devils in the details!)
Master of Puppets 1st and 2nd riffs should be swapped. That EFBEFCEFC# riff is way better to me
Disposable Heroes at #31 hurts my soul… I know it’s personal preference but I really love this riff🥲😂
What about Disposable Heroes "Back to the front" riff?
These vids seem like a good way to increase your picking speed, or damage your picking hand.
I don’t think this guy likes disposable heroes. Personally that’s my favorite song from the album
My#1 is your #23 :) im actually surprised about that. was expecting that riff a lot higher
Now do the Dark Angel album Time Does Not Heal - 9 songs, 246 riffs!
*Down picking intensifies*
i don't know man. For me master intro riff is kinda boring. Perhaps because i've heard it many times. My favourite from the album Battery pre solo
How do you get the clean tones for the Sanitarium intro and Master of Puppets breakdown?
You're playing wrong the chorus riff from The Thing That Should Not Be because if you watch James play it live you'll see that he uses his thumb to fret the low e string, he barely moves his hand to fret the strings and just stays in that position moving it up and down the neck of the guitar. Still a great video tho. Keep up the good work!
At 5:00 I think you are playing that slightly wrong. What you do is play the G power chord then keep your ring and pinkie fingers in place on those fifth frets and with index only starting from 3rd fret G power chord you slide your index to second fret and then a pull off to zero. So your striking the G power chord, keeping ring and pinkies put and then with index 3/2p0
Absolutely very nice but I felt little problem with tone. Guitars are dark and powerful in this album but I think tone needs to be little bit brighter.
You absolutely nailed the tone on #6 Puppets breakdown riff, just amazing. Me personally would've put #14 Orion section b riff up a little higher, but that's just my opinion. I've always loved that riff. Overall, bad ass!!!!!!!
Your guitar tone is so f***ing juicy and rich and everything damn
Who cares how he plays, its sounds like it Your all playing it wrong cause your not james hetfield i guarantee that
love the video, I have different opinions in some parts but its completely subjective!
I think the riff right after the first battery solo and also is pretty cool
IMO best riff is intro from MOP, but 2nd intro riff
My Favorite RIff of Master of Puppets is Master of Puppets, the whole intro, everything on it, three riffs a variaton riff and the tritone running, and the tone and Everything.
Please answer this
Do these videos get copyrighted or no?
And if no why
THE THING THAT SHOULD NOT BE INTRO!?!?! Where is it?!?
R.I.P right wrist
Damn smoking you need to go ice that wrist down. I know you did not like a comment I made but I call it like I see it and that was awesome. I wish that the people that came here to just hear these riffs that was so hard to do back to back. Just 1 of some of the riffs is hard as hell. Great job do you do in blues riffs in series?
Too much Disposable Heroes at the bottom of this list. The whole of Leper Messiah should have been at the bottom.
Hi I think u got the riffs wrong only have 2 riffs of orion doesn't do the list justice the whole song is the best instrument in years
Putting that Disposable Heroes intro riff as last place is just criminal.
Playing Cliff's parts on guitar... blasphemy
This is played in a way i like unlike ride the lightning video. And good choice for places
In all honesty your choice to play the clean parts with the middle selection is killing my ears.
love the playing, but the distortion tone just isn't on
“Back to the front” riff from Disposable Heroes?
leper messiah is the best song on the album
well orion is also up there, maybe disposable heroes too
That Sanitarium Chorus riff looks bullshit
