I think maybe 2012 had them beat. at the 2012 Olympics, Diana Bulimar, Diana Chelaru, Catalina Ponor and Sandra Izbasa had amazing floor routines. The only gripe i have is Larisa changed her great routine that she used at euros before the olympics and it wasn't nearly as good.
@@_padfoot choreography doesn't win you medals though. There is also no way that the 2004 team would have won in 2012 considering their uneven bars situation and lack of difficult vaults aside from Monica. I'm just saying that both the 2004 and 2012 teams had really nice floor routines :)
dupa zeci de medalii castigate,nu mai e nici un dubiu ca romancele sunt fantastice. Insa, e adevarat ca se simte absenta celui mai bun antrenor din lume...Octavian Belu. Catalina Ponor FX exercise in 2004 Athens Olympic was indeed one of the most beautifully choreographed floor routine in the history of our WAG... so proud of her and the whole Romanian team that year
Bravo Daniela Sofronie, Oana Ban....extraordinare. Acum 20 de ani dar atit de grozave. Cătălina Ponor cea mai bună ❤❤❤. Acum nu am mai văzut asa ceva.La nici o echipă
@@jgsh8062 Ban definitely lost 2 tenths on her final pass, but even so I think it was about a tenth too low. This was also perhaps the last quadrennium that it was clear the judges were taking the line-up order into account and scoring more conservatively on the first two athletes.
@@_padfoot They had to start pushing down the scores at this stage. Because routines were getting more difficult and spectacular so what was a 9.8 became a 9.6 as they had to make scoring room for the harder routines. This is why they changed the code of points. In 2000 these routines would have scored 9.7ish
Only if Sofronie,Ban,Rosu,Eremia and Ponor haven't retired after that.....just think what a team Romania had had for Beijing 2008 along with Izbasa,Nistor..
It would certainly be another gold worthy team. The 2004 Rom team was extraordinarily dominant, winning 4 golds out of 6 events (Team, Beam, Vault, Floor), and also silver on floor. (Btw, Ponor just won gold for every competition she went (TF, BB, Fx) With Nistor covering the bars and AA, against team USA led by Nastia & Shawn, and the strong China team, the competition would be very very interesting.
@@apollopraetorius216 the Chinese had amazing bars of course, as usual, they are the team to beat in UB. But with Sofronie + Nistor Romania would have had two strong bar workers for finals.
I'm not sure because to Code of Points changed after that. It no longer favoured the Romanian style of gymnastics of doing the safest 10 SV you can and hitting it. Instead it favoured risk. Plus bars have been scored much higher and, while they did better than normal on bars here, it was still a weak point.
@TwisterFlipp95 Yes, she badly sprained her ankle after her third pass, the massively high double Arabian, and said at the time "the pain was killing me, but I had to finish the routine", and it did indeed keep her out of the AA and EF:( You are right, looking at her you would never know she was in agony:( Thats why on her last pass she landed uncharacteristically deep on the double pike. Incredible routine though:)
@iheartcheese111 Yes, she hurt her ankle badly on her third pass, her through-the-roof double Arabian, and she said in an interview "I knew I had to finish the routine, but my ankle was killing me", poor girl:( And it did indeed, keep her out of the rest of the Olympics, sadly. What an incredible routine though; one of my favourites, for sure:)
@JoaoZamae i was just going to say that. those routines were amazing. why did they get such low scores comparing to ponor? but anyways, their routines show more to the audience than the marks! AND I AM PROUD TO BE ROMANIAN!
The 2012 team are already looking to be champions and we shall see at the worlds next year what they are capable of. They have several girls back from injury such as the amazing Ana Porgras. They will have junior Amelia Racea who will be able to compete at worlds next year as well as veterans Isbaza. Gabriela Dragoi and Anamaria Tamarjan should have some more experience in them as well to lead them to Gold medals. They look like gold on BB and FX and improved on VT and UB.
Look at these ladies compared to today's gymnast. Today, we have a bunch of short, thick tanks who just jump around. No grace, no style, no posture, nothing. Gymnastics today sucks. Just a series of boring, neck breaking elements. That over there was, indeed, the golden age.
This competition was the pinnacle of Romanian gymnastics which unfortunately was tarnished by Olympic Comiittee’s decision to strip Andrea Raducan an of the all around Gold medal for taking a cold pill
Yeah...and it's really unfortunate. I would have really liked to see Romania in the next Olympics. Hopefully the program will be back in full force for Paris :(
Kata was the Romanian team leader! She performed at the most critical moments, and she performed well to earn team Gold in 2004.
I say this team was arguably the most well choreographed Romanian team of the new millenium.
I know i love their elegance♡ i can't stop watching these floor rutines
