*IMPORTANT SPOILER/MODERATION NOTE* Comments on Liera's play are welcome - but remember it's Liera's game, and she doesn't have to follow advice. If something has been suggested several time, and she doesn't follow it, that's likely her choice. If she plays differently than you, accept it.
You don't have to agree with the Spoiler/Moderation policy - but you WILL be subject to it. Comments that violate it will simply be removed without discussion. General strategy advice is OK. Advice for gear/building/using blueprints or gear that Liera has ALREADY UNLOCKED is fine. Discussing how you played, or handled something, and how it turned out, IS OK - so long as it doen't violate any of the points below. Mentioning future gear that has not unlocked is NOT OK. Mentioning future events is NOT OK. Mentioning future resources is NOT OK. Mentioning future creatures, or how to handle existing hazards is NOT OK. Pointing out the location of resources/data points ( unless Liera SPECIFICALLY ASKS ), is NOT OK.
Friendly advice: Always always always take the sea glide. Yes it takes up 6 inventory slots but it's worth every penny so to speak. You never wanna give up that speed and mobility and you can't collect resources or scan things from inside the seamoth. I'd also recommend making and having at least 1 if not 2 spare batteries and 1 spare power cell on you at all times.
Yes! More Subnautica! 😊... Liera don't apologize for the going back-and-forth parts, that's the way the game is-- and BTW it's nice to watch an intelligent person play this game, seriously, I can just tell (not to sound judgemental towards any other gamer, but I call it like I see it, and I've watched several people play it) ..."What else can we find, besides those sea-cucumbers that want to kill me!" 😂😂... "I hear you creeping!" 😂 Those stupid spiders, yikes... 58:24 the seamoth! 🙌... so much great stuff in the Aurora!... Loved this Liera! Keep it up! 👍😊... looking too good today, Liera! ❤
I thought for sure you needed to turn around because you cant get past that first obstacle on the Aurora but you showed me "lets jump over it" 🤣 Another great episode. Keep them coming when you have the time. Cheers.
The Seaglide is still useful when you want to go to places that are deeper than the Seamoth can go. But since going back to the base with the Seamoth is very fast, I find it better to just always have two beacons on me, so I can mark an interesting spot I want to explore and quickly go to the base the get the Seaglide if I need it. Saves a lot of inventory space.
I love your Playthrough, you read all the PDA-Data in Time , search thoroughly , and dont cramp the Inventory. My inner Monk is pleased 😉 You are the First One i see, who get in the Aurora without a Proulsion.Canon, just with jumping over the obstacles. Your Clear pronunciation, helps a lot too, it is easier to understand for me as a German. I look forward to the next Subnautica-Videos 😊
One more thing: if you want to avoid spoilers, I'd recommend you ignore any time capsules you might encounter during the rest of the playthrough. A time capsule contains a screenshot and items from potentially any stage of the game, thus giving you access to information or materials you might not have obtained yet through regular gameplay. The one capsule you've recovered showed a picture of the Mountain Island that you've just discovered by yourself during this episode, so you're all caught up now.
Quick tip: You can name your lockers, by pointing at the text you should have a prompt to do so. Maybe you don't need it yet, but eventually this will prove very useful when organizing your items in a more durable base. ::)
This was fun but showed me several spoilers as I am exploring Aurora too right now, my fault I know, but I don't mind as some frustration was setting in, and now I have some more leads to follow. Looking forward to more of this and HZDR...
Hi Liera ! Good to see you again ! I like the way you play. Keep it up. Take the time to explore, scan and read the descriptions. You will discover a lot of interesting things. I know the game well but thanks to you I continue to discover things.😃👏
Ohhh, it's Aurora time! Nice to see you're finally able to explore the belly of the beast. As is hinted at in the first PDA transcript you found on board, getting in and out is significantly easier if you're carrying a propulsion cannon, but it seems you're doing just fine by hopping and jumping around. Don't be surprised to hit a dead end at some point, though. By the way: if you want to exact revenge on those pesky Cave Crawlers, the propulsion cannon is your friend. 😃 I'd recommend keeping the Seaglide with you at all times. It will help in exploring the area surrounding wherever you park your Seamoth, and crucially, gets you back inside in time to take a breath. Swimming up to the surface is not always an option (cue foreboding music)...
Very enjoyable watching you progress through the game. Exploring the Aurora almost feels like an overdose of progress, but please don't feel shy of showing us less or slower progress, should it come to that. Playing this game is not about completing a race but about the experience of it. And we are privileged that you share yours with us.
I was definitely stressing out about water/food when i first got into the ship, but now after finding some supplies I think I can slow it down a bit and enjoy the ride more :) It's funny, I actually have a number of sticky notes at my desk telling me to look again at this or that as I've been going through it haha
58:40 I'd reread that depth you can go to. Also, I think the light button is right click. Edit: never mind, you got the upgrade that makes the depth even better!
After watching this episode all I can say is...Not sure what dark arts you are using but you are swimming about blissfully unaware meanwhile I'm having a small panic attack XD 34:43 - 36:00 Then the jump into the dark water below at 48:00 Needless to say your playthough is quite something with how it's progressing and the timing and I'm all for it :)
1:01:14 I actually never thought of doing that, but you do raise a good point. The seaglide is good for recks, but if you're careful enough then you won't need it in favor of extra space.
Tip: If you find yourself constantly asking yourself “have I searched this wreck chunk before?”, what I do is, after Fully searching a wreck, I will build an I-Compartment on top of it as tall as it can be, so I can see it from a distance and know that yes, I have ‘cleared’ that wreck. I will ALWAYS have at least the 2 titanium required to build the compartment from scanning things I’ve already unlocked in said wreck.
@ there is a bit of a downside to this option; when you load in you will have a massive list of ‘Base unpowered’ scroll up screen, as the game considers them all bases, but that doesn’t bother me. There is a more… botanical option to build instead of a Tube compartment, but Liera hasn’t found that BP yet so I’m trying to not spoiler.
Interesting idea. I always travel with a couple beacons and leave one at the highest point of each wreck. That way I know where to look out for that marker, and I can count them and/or dis-/reen-able them in the beacon manager.
@ Beacons are a great option too, I’ll always carry at least 2 Beacons early on and will leave one at a wreck saying “Not Cleared, Laser Cutter needed” etc. Then I’ll retrieve the Beacon and build the Tube once the wreck is fully cleared. I hope Liera remembers to carry more Beacons soon, she even mentioned in this Ep that she wished she had one at some point, I was really hoping that would prompt herself to do so, they make the Subnautica life so much easier!
You can find all 4 Parts for the PawnSuit in the Bay, along with a Module, and Yes it is a lot more there to explore in the Aurora, the Code for the Captains Cabin is not there, dont bother to search for it
My only suggestion is to make the Air Bladder in the tools section of the fabricator. It will suite your playstyle and ease exploration of the red grass regions.
I'd hoped she would have made the air bladder sooner, because it's such a useful tool early game. By the time the Seamoth enters the fray however (i.e. now), its utility is diminished quite a bit -- as you're no longer trying to get back up to the surface but rather seek to return to where you've parked your 'moth usually.
I think had I died of suffocation while trying to come up for air, I would have totally crafted it. But since I am such a chicken and didn't go further than I felt comfortable, it never came up.
Drinking filtered waters (the ones made from bladderfish) before disinfected can save space too, as the filtered ones hold only 20 and the disinfected have 30.
Fun Fact: That girl's picture you see in everyone's locker in wrecks was actually supposed to be you, the player. Then they scrapped the idea and went with male Riley instead. For a long time i thought she was the "Ana De Armas" of this universe 🤪
I noticed that u missed a PDA and just a heads up when it comes to areas that look important NO SPOILERS. Unless u plan on going back to a location for whatever reson make sure u take a VERY good look around and inside the location becouse it is possable to softlock the story progression if u happen to miss some things and the game wont tell u if u missed them. The things will always remain there if u missed them so u can never hardlock yourself. 21:40 No the Seaglide map is really hard to use. They made it alot easier to use in Subnautica Below Zero.
If you are playing on pc you can hit F1 and will bring up an overlay that has coordinates. The over lay shows up in screenshots. I had to use that a few times to find things if i didn't have a beacon on me.
The information on that F1 screen is a bit spoiler-y, as the game purposefully does not provide you with a map or coordinates, and feeling lost and alone is kind of the experience the developers are aiming for. It also lists the biome names, which you're not supposed to know when playing the game for the fist time. I'd recommend saving the F1 hack for subsequent playthroughs.
1:33:18 I think that one is pronounced "sweet," like the fancy rooms in hotels. In all honesty, the only reason I know that is because of "The Suite Life of Zach and Cody," lol.
I have 5 Titanium, Can I have 1 Copper? Sure we could just send over the wandering trader from Minecraft and problem solved. Ofc he and his Llamas would be equipped with state of the art scuba gear from Alterra XD
33:05 there's a way for the pda to tell you how far away you are from some locations... ;-) 52:04 that's a neat QoL feature they have, use depleted batteries for crafting. i think your other one was used up for the Laser Cutter. :-) 58:53 you should, iirc it works the same way as the seaglide.
