    Just ordered the rig you show here. It will be used in Gustavus, Alaska, this coming July. Thanks for posting.

    Great video John. Does the old spoon on your spreader bar ever cause any leader tangles while bouncing on the bottom for extended periods ? Thanks.

    So do you buy canadian fishing licenses?

    • @BrennanA275
      @BrennanA275 6 лет назад

      Royal RC yes, from my understanding, as long as you do not plan on fishing 1 of the 3 “restricted marine areas” along the southern tip to the western coast of Vancouver Island (approximately due north of Neah Bay) then obtaining a tidal (saltwater) Canadian fishing license is quite easy and able to be completed online, i’ve been researching the regulations so that I’m able to go butt fishing while I am shrimping in the San Juan‘s The first week of May, which will not coincide with the Halibut opener this year,
      there seems to be some very different regulations for fishing halibut in Canadian waters that I do not believe we are subject to in US waters, although I am very much a novice on Fishing the particular species in any waters US or Canadian...
      The producer of this Video has some good content on the subject on their website halibut.net, One of the rules is you were supposed to announce your entrance into Canadian waters before you cross the border, i’m not sure if it was on that website or not that I heard a piece advice that was pretty funny to me, it went something like: if The Canadian customs ask you too come to port for inspection you are to decline the invitation and not enter Canadian waters, The logic is that even if you are the most law abiding citizen, if you are ignorant to their laws, customs, regulations and you receive citation you may be barred for life from entering Canadian water and territories and therefore not worth the risk...

    So much for 'how to'. No description of rod and reel, no idea how much weight. How about how to locate possible waters? OK, well, I'll keep looking...
