Love the videos thanks for the help. I'm gonna get that 200 intel for a table top arcade build. It's fast enough for all my classic games. I'll use my PC for the rest.
As always, nice simple video. For those interested in getting license for LB, they offer discounts for some holidays. I got mine for 20 bucks (life time license) on black Friday few years back. Well spent 20 bucks, IMHO.
Your launchbox tutorials have been so helpful getting me up and running. Have you ever thought of putting together a play list with all your launchbox videos. It would make it easier for us beginners. Every time I think I've seen all your launchbox videos, I find another, and although I have only loadedy snes roms so far, I have still learned a lot for your other videos. Like I learned how to go full screen from your neogeo video even though I have not downloaded my neogeo ROMs yet. I thank you, your videos have been a big help in getting me up and going.

Awesome video thanks a lot! There's probably more recent ones but this is the first useful one that came up. Only downside is I found a ROM set with 3400 SNES games and the downloading of box art is taking 2min per game loool....

I just picked up the 10 dollar license for big box! I love it so far! I am currently setting it up on my usb hard drive so when I finish building my new pc I can transfer it over. :)

Got to say Iv'e only been using Launchbox for a couple of day but i absolutely love it. it makes it a lot easier to chose which game to play when you can see the image and not having to wade through thousands of roms.
Also I love the fact that you can add windows games I have a couple of hundred games installed on my PC and many of these have shortcuts on my desktop which I admit looks a mess but with Launchbox this takes away the hassle of trying to find space for more shortcuts.

Bought the premium licence yesterday! and I went for it because of the ETA tutorials are a great help so i feel that I will get the most out of this by fully understanding it. plus it can only get better with updates. I have hyperspin but was running into issues and just took up too much time in forums and was just too time consuming for me to get it right.
So am in the process now of moving all of the hyperspin assets (5TB!) over to launchbox/bigbox.
So as it stands i have got as far as porting over megadrive.. but it started downloading new art and videos! so i need to figure out where and how to drag all of my existing videos/art etc to save some bandwidth and redownloading everything again.
What is great that with the licence I can have this on my pc. then also in the media centre pc. and then the arcade machine at home, you can just clone the drive and then use it which is great when the kids just need to play some games without me having to grab the keyboard and force quit and all this other stuff that hyperspin kept throwin at me.
for someone who loves games but just hasnt got a lot of time to configure all of this, this is perfect for me

F me, I wish hadn't wasted SO MUCH TIME on Hyperspin.... which works, but this is LIGHTYEARS ahead of Hyperspin.

@@davetech356 The UI is very intuitive and easy to setup. Support is amazing for a couple reasons, In the process of setting it up all you have to do is post the question on the forum and its answered in minutes. (at least it was for me), the other reason is that there are constant updates to fix bugs etc. An added bonus is that if your setting up mame etc. you can download all the box art etc. right from the LB interface and dont have to go through endless torrent searches.
tell me about it.... i spent weeks on that app and was only able to make half the games work properly. Best 50 bucks i ever spent.

figured it out, simple mistake on my end but when setting up the roms, make sure the option to extract games upon loading is unchecked, because left on will cause the issue
I added a 1000 zx spectrum games.......and then waited literally hours for it find the pics. Next time I'll import them from my retropie sets, much quicker. If you've got anything that's just joypad related just use Coinops or Retroarch and drag and drops entire packs including the media or download a build.
I may be the only one, but I find the normal Launchbox much better to browse and select games compared to BigBox. BigBox is more if you want to show off your collection to friends or something but if you have 12,000 games like I do, BigBox is to cumbersome to use.

Launchbox is over-priced at $75 and I've spent too much time in the forums solving issues with it. I highly recommend Playnite frontend instead! It's modern, open source, and has a great community. I'm glade to find an a better alternative to Launchbox and Hyperspin.

I think I have watched all of your videos for Bigbox setup. You have the Xtension Arcade kit. Do you use a software install for the button configuration? I mean can you do a video on mapping the controls that will cover all game platforms?

HOW TO IMPORT ROMS FILES INTO LAUNCHBOX AND PLAY IT SUCCESSFULLY ( if your game said missing some files or you cannot insect your roms ) :
You should go to archive.org and download two files from your favorite game ( for example my favorite game is Twinkle Star Sprites ) then when u open a game, you will see a list of downloading files on the right, choose ONLY two files to download ( my favorite game has two files called : neogeo and twinkspri ) then download them!After all, u have to copy both of these ones to " roms " folder in "MAMEUi64 " folder, then EXTRACT ONLY file "neogeo" in " roms " folder. Then u just back to MAME emulator or Launchbox emulator to insect the roms of game and play it, it will work by the way! I tried it and successfully! When using a "core" in retroarch such as the snes9x... Will I be able to change settings for that core so it matches all the settings in the standalone snes9x emulator such as graphical filters and so on?

I bought a license and when I right click on a game, the 'configure' menu option is greyed out. I wanted to configure each game with different graphics resolutions and graphics filters, like most other emulators offer... Any idea what's going on here?

so spent over 12 hours importing my roms, followed the directions to the teeth and setup my cores through retroarch, no games have shown up yet, over 16,000 roms imported. how long has it taken you guys?
