The Riffle Fan was first showcased in Dimitri’s video “Silent Transition” in 2011. It has then been published in his dvd “Monument” (store.theory11.com/products/m..., but because the mechanics of the move evolved with the years, we’ve decide to release an upgraded tutorial.
The Riffle Fan is definitely one of Dimitri’s most treasured and favorite creation, and it’s considered as modern classic: there is no doubt that adding it to your repertoire will help you grow as a cardist.
Enjoy!

Hello Chris i love you pls notice me senpai
Chris Ramsay wow. Love your videos.
senpai.
didn't expect to see you here!
ikr
who doesnt get this at ALL
Its actually the pressure thing, I was really confused at first but when you don't care about dropping the cards and just release some pressure you will see that the cards will move more on their own.
Also remember to tilt forward and right (or left if you hold the deck in your left hand)
Me.
Not a single card spinning😂
did you get it now? I'm struggling very hard -_-
I've been practicing for hours now and first of: This is really all about the pressure. Second: This fan fells like magic happening in between your fingers! Amazing
You got it after hours? I usually quit things like this after 30 mins. You give me hope.
Over about 7 months of practice, I finally got it. For those of u in the comments saying I can't do it, just remember that this is a very difficult move, and it will take lots of practice and dedication.
Matt T its not a difficult move it is medium
Christopher beltran go fuck yourself
Matt T good for you. My fan is not so great but hope one Day to do it. Could it be the riffling ?
Things likes this, you'll get better as time goes by. So the more you are used to handling cards the faster you'll learn it.
When does he ever come to the part where he teaches how to do the fan
Exactly...
It's actually more information than you need to know.
8:15
Its a matter of patience bro
Never😂😂
I click on video
I grab Cards
I see the fan
I immediately pause video
I Hit power button on computer
I gather all my cards and throw them out my upstairs window
I then throw myself out the upstairs window
So... How'd you wrote this??
sarcasm muchh????
NecroDragon he wrote it... in free fa...

Great tutorial! :)
TheRussianGenius you're superb too bro I love your tutorials especially the color changes and when you say 'bastard'...keep up the good work bro 👏👏 and plz do a giveaway...its difficult for people like me who have to import decks from U.S😎
It's funny you say that when you're already subscribed to my channel and also you have added my videos to your playlist.
TheRussianGenius hey the Russian genius, your great, i gave up magic about a year ago but ever since i started rewatching your videos i have picked the cards back up, and have forgotten why i have them up in the first place, love your videos man. :) keep it up
UKCubing omg your the only persom i know of thats into cardistry and cubing lol me too 😀
TheRussianGenius how am I supposed to get the cards to come out fast in the riffle fan? Can you please do a tutorial?
Awesome tutorial! I want to add a tiny tip for beginners that might be very helpful. To prevent the fingers of the right hand from blocking the fan, just move completely out of the way both pinky and ring finger! You will see how the fan appears like magic and with time you can add those two fingers to the position he already explained. 👍
I was like, "He's such a serious cardist."
And then the ending.
XD
Yeh I too fast forwaded it to the last and swa him and reacted 🙄
😂 yes lol
I've been practicing for god knows how long.
And all I have to say is my nail hurts
and im getting there. Loving the progres so far.
Holy crap! I'm finally starting to get this move. I've probably watched a dozen videos, but this is the one. Thank you for taking the time to teach this beautiful display! For what it's worth, the tip about moving your fingers out of the way once the riffle begins was critical for me to finally realize. I hope that's useful for others, too.
Mine literally just riffles it doesn't fan.
same! i'm just basically holding it weirdly and riffling.
Ross Yenerich same over here xD
AppealingHalo3 Dont worry if you cant get it immediately. Its a pretty hard move, and will take time.
I spent al afternoon yesterday trying it. And i already get like half of the fan :D
AppealingHalo3 Awesome!
LMAO...how he moved out of the last scene...i'm crying!🤣 brilliant👌
the whole video he was takin' it serious then the last part.... :))))
Serious till the last moment
Haaaah හොඳ ටොටෝරි haaaaah
*This tutorial is well worth a Oscar.*
I’ve not really bothered with xcm or magic in years, since I’ve came back this move caught my eye, I saw Chris Ramsey do it and was amazed, now the inventer has a tutorial, amazing! Thank you!
Awesome really nice
this was the first time I learned the riffle fan... your explanation is really good!!
thank you so much.
I had a bit problem in rotating it, bit I'll still practice.
thanks.
2:57 A Philosopher once said, *Don't be too ambitious* 😂😂
This move is amazing
thank you so much for making this, and especially thanks so much for the tip @ 6 minutes, that's the exact problem i've been having while learning this, and my fans are already getting better by the end of the video!
Now the only tutorial we are waiting for is Waterwheel by Daren Yeow. Daren where u at
It too
its been a long time but in case you are still looking for it... ruclips.net/video/t37LtSyLJo8/видео.html
6:30: "while this little motion may help I highly advise against it"
Lol OK BUDDY
love this flourish
It always seems to amaze me that you high level craftsmen make it appear to be easy.
Finally got it after a year😅For those who haven't done it keep practicing don't give up
0:05 its too perfect to exist
This is amazing. I watched the disturbed reality video about this move, been trying it for like 2 days. No joy. Watched this, nailed it. Excellent tutorial. I'm defo going to pick up monuments.
I've been doing the riffle fan for about 1 month now and at first I did 2 finger then 3 then 1 but after all my fails and others tutorials I came back to this watched it in .25 and am now better than ever Thanks😀🎉
I've never seen a better tutorial for cardistry..
Huszar Tony than you don't look +risemagic
hahaha thanks man
Hai
Magyar névnek tűnik
Ha pedig nem, akkor
Yes, probably the best out here
Ill get it right one of these days..
Shadowoc91 tru
Shadowoc91 did you get it?
It’s been 8 months have you been able?
Yep, the first time I tried this, all my cards fell, but after a while it won't fall, then one day when you just decide to do it, it will almost be perfect.
My cards Didn’t do any thing :’(
best among all tutorials out there
This is so calming.
wow man.. i mean thanks and all but you never explained how to actually get them to fan, the revolution effect or whatever... i was here going thought all the video waiting for the section called... make em fan... and nothing came.
I get you and I had the same problem, but it turned out to be just gravity spreading them as you Farrel.
thanks so much for the tutorial! i have tried to learn this move several times and given up but thanks to your in depth tutorial im gonna keep trying!
Best ever tutorial
I've been trying this for years and have finally got it thanks
I actually learned this on my own, but thanks for making this tutorial for me to perfect it. 😀
This is one of the most detailed tutorials I've ever seen!
Thank you so much for this video, I'm going to learn it right now because I can't do normal fans because my decks are too broken and I don't want to spent too much money on cards... yet
same here brother
same
Best tutorial for this fan so much detail. All other tutorials ive seen did not clarify the fact that it is more of a dribble then riflle
I love your cardistry and how detailed the video was you really helped thanks
I was just wondering how frequent will be your new vids ?
quick deckflip at 5:55
daniel ott omg
THIS is the Coolest thing I've seen in a long long time: I sure hope I can LEARN it ! ! !
Dimitri, you are nut favorite cardist and i think you are one of the best I've seen if not the best. probably the latter. thanks for all your videos and tutorials.
"Hold here, and hold here, then riffle! And there you go, the perfect fan!" Ohhh, you didn't get it? Oh well...
Just rewind the video over and over again, took me months and months to get it perfectly, but looking back, this is actually really informational.
@@TheDhenk months?
@@nightwolfbiker7597 to get absolutely perfect every time, yes that takes months
Can't you guys just say how to do the riffle action like what motion should make the fan happen
@@omarmostafa9274 from what I've seen, the riffling action is almost identical from the anaconda dribble. Now I still have yet to do the riffle fan myself but from observation and other videos people have suggested getting that dribble down pretty well will help a lot!
One great tip I can share with you after trying to learn this move: Dribble the cards slower than an usual dribble. I noticed that if you dribble the cards at a slower speed it helps to spread the cards wider as it gives more time to each card to distance from each other. Hope this helps.
Thank you
Such a great tutorial for this, perhaps i can finally get it right. thank you and subscribed
Best step-by-step instructions ever.
Absolutely beautiful fan. I could get about 1/2 to 3/4 around with just 5 minutes of practice. Just a couple pointers to others from my experience:
1. Remember to dribble, don't riffle. If you haven't aleady, I definitely suggest watching the Anaconda tutorial, "Riffle Fan" really is sort of a misnomer.
2. When you apply pressure with your top hand, don't just push down; try to only put pressure above your bottom hand's index finger. This creates pressure on the pivot, and frees the fan to swing around.
I hope this helps someone, I absolutely love the look of this move.
Could only do this with pixel playing cards because they are so smooth and slippery got barely anywhere with other cards give it a try
Thank you! Awesome fan with so useful tips. Just thank you!
finally one who can teach this good!
Few minutes learning, I get like a 90° fan. How long should it take to learn that 720° he's doing ?
Thats a 360° fan -_-
@@deeznuts3469 More like 520 in the beginning of the video
does fanning powder help?
nope, not for this fan imo
ok thanks !
Thank you so much, Dimitri!
Thanks guys for making this
the cards stay in 1 spot when i do the riffling
Reduce the pressure on your index. Increase the speed of your riffling. Tilt the deck.
why does my deck only riffle and not go around, I got the positioning down pat but when I try to riffle it just riffles, why?
You're either putting too much pressure between your hands, or the deck is too old and sticky :p Also make sure that only your index nail touches the bottom card :)
thanks cardistry touch it really helped and now I can almost get a 360 fan.
Awesome video, to the points but beautiful shots all in itself.
Thanks for the proper teaching.
I tried searching for a good tutorial on this a month ago, couldn't find any.
But then this video popped into my subscription box~
Wow fantastic!!!!
hope with this video i can learn why i can't do a 360º riffle fan ^^
After try this
Thanks for sharing such a beautiful move in a well done vid.
Awesome finishing touch at the end
I just get to like 100 digress
Any tips to get it bigger?
5:42 and on should answer your question.
Im legit gonna burn my deck
Bro really thank you, actually I loved the move !!!
Flawless, thank you
CaptainSparklez says there is a motor in there
does the quality of cards make any difference
Yes
This is a great tutorial. Thank you!
I had see many tutorials for the riffle fan and I think your is the best!
lol he created the riffle fan
I feel like if AnnaD and disturb reality didn't make that tutorial, we wouldn't have this like at all.
Actually, this tutorial was filmed a lot before, we just waited for the cards to be out to release it :)
well regardless, i'm sure hundreds of people will appreciate this tutorial over the disturb reality one any day, myself included. You guys are amazing!
How the fuck do you lift your fingers back and riffle at the same damn time?!
Brilliant tutorial. Thank you 🙏
Awesome! Thanks for the tutorial.
That is impossible to do wtf
oohh ok i love this move
Holy crap that’s awesome
Awsome card fan! This one is my NR.1 fan....no doubt
I tried this year's ago and gave up, I revisited it a few weeks ago and with this video and the rise magic video I finally got it. It didn't even take that long I just had to keep trying even when it seemed I hadn't made any progress at all.
This is the best video ever

Best tutorial ♥️♥️♥️
Dimitri looks so serious from the beginning to the end of the tutorial, except the final moment, lolzzz.
The way he teaches in the tutorial is way improved than in the Monuments DVD :D
I almost thought that he will give tips on how to spin the whole riffle fan after display it, hehe
Merci Dimitri. Un vrai plaisir de bosser sur un vrai tuto. J'ai hate de recevoir ma brick !! la bize mec
