In GT2 you can mod the Taurus to have more than 230bhp... but it'll still be fwd sadly

Nascar Racing, Nascar 98, Nascar 2000, Nascar Rumble, and Destruction Derby 1 & 2 we're by far the best stock car games on the PS1.

That was just the American name for TOCA World Touring Cars, which was much more focused on touring car racing than stock cars.
