    Thanks Doc....I have recently decided make care of my wife's feet a major priority. She has given so much of herself to me over the years. I now realize it is my time to provide care for her feet. My wife is a Flight Attendant and spends every day walking or standing. Her feet have taken the brunt of it. Thank you for helping me evidence my love for my wife.

    I watched and did this a week a go. At first I was skeptical if this will work. On the 3rd day I already noticed a difference. A week after, my goodness, my feet are back to normal. The pumice stone I bought at a dollar store probably made the process work faster. But be carefull not to over scrub your heels when using the pumice stone. Big thanks to you Doc!

      The overall cause of dryness in the feet is generally wewring shoes and socks too much. The body tries to optimise the moisture level of your skin and shoes and socks retain moisture. Over time if you wear these all the time the body down regulate moisture in the feet to stop them being overly damp. But the issue is this causes them to be excessively dry when not wearing shoes. Long term the best fix is to gradually reduce the amount of time you wear shoes and socks - the body will slowly up regulate the moisture content to account for the dominant environment your feet are in and they will stop drying out and cracking when you don't wear shoes.

I have eczema on my hands and can't tell if what I have on my heels are the same. The more I am using the pommes stone, the more irritated and thicker the skin on my heels are getting. if you have an advise, I appreciate it.

      Basic cause is your body adjusts the moisture level of the skin on your feet based on the usual conditions. If you normally wear shoes and socks - the body reduces the moisture level because the shoes and socks retain moisture and it would be too damp. When you suddenly stop wewring them and switch to flip flops the skin is too dry. The body doesn't adjust immediately - it takes time. If you gradually over time simply reduce the amount of time you wear shoes the body naturally adjusts up the moisture content in the skin and you won't have issues wearing flip flops

    • @David-_-_-

      @@guyinthesky6696 short term maybe - but it won't resolve the Issue long term. It's usually caused by the body trying to keep the moisture level in the skin balanced. Usually dry cracked feet is a sign you wear shoes and socks too much which retains moisture and has caused your body to down regulate the moisture level in the skin of your feet to stop them becoming wet. Best way to resolve is to gradually reduce how often your feet are covered and the body will then naturally over time begim to upregulate.the moisture level

    My mother's heels have become so dry and cracked that a moisturizer just won't work. We have very few podiatrists in India. Is it necessary to remove the cracked skin before applying the moisturizer and silicone socks ?

    • @Chaana_Yahawadah
      @Chaana_Yahawadah Год назад +1

      He said the skin can be removed after a few days of doing the routine.. his instructions were to soak the feet for 10 mins then next add a moisturizer then add the silicone socks 🧦 and leave on overnight. After a few days you can start to remove some of the rough skin w a pumice stone. He said the routine of using the socks and lotion needs to be done for two weeks at least to re moisten the skin and heal the cracks.

    UGH DOC! I assumed your video would be how to treat the CRACK of the cracked foot. My mistake. I have a deep heel fissure. I have already started teh soaking, pumic, stroniong moisturizer wrapped, overnight routine.
    That doesn't change the fact I've got this deep gash in my heel. My foot is just a much better looking painful experience.
    Is there some glue, some medical tape, mole skin, SOMETHING to seal the wound that it can heal, then some supportive device that doesn't touch the area of the fissure, but provides support NEAR the fissure, as well as supporting the rest of my heel?

    • @Footankle
      @Footankle  4 года назад +12

      The thick callus around the crack needs to be removed for that type of fissure to heal. A good podiatrist will be able to that easily for you
