- I’m making a set of copper, white, and black epoxy coasters. Naked Fusion Artist’s Resin, PearlEx Hot Copper mica, Pearlescent White mica, Castin Craft white, Armour Art black, Picassio black alcohol ink.
Cool
I love these! Copper is my favorite metal also. When I did bead and wire jewelry I preferred copper wire from the hardware store. 💖
I recently learned the technique of taking a small amount of resin to mix the mica into. It’s easier to stir out the lumps that way, then pour it back into the cup of resin you’re going to be using and stir it in. I’ve found it works nicely for me.
Besides the one translucent color does it matter what kind of pigments you use. Could you use all mica and the one transparent? Would it still work?
Yep! I think mica is on of the better ways to accomplish this. I’ve done quite a few with just a transparent layer and then different micas.
Love your coasters, will try even though i am new to resin
❤awesome and perfect dragon skin!
I made red and black last night, I have gold and blue Goin now!
O agree it sees to dilute the colors
I love these too. They look like magical log slices or cathedral windows.
супер. Это красота необыкновенная
Hi ma'am. First let me tell you how much I enjoyed the video. Your craftsmanship is happenin'! The effects are gorgeous! I was wondering if I can substitute mica powder with anything like an opaque alcohol ink or pigment paste, and still get the same or similar effect?
Hello! Alcohol ink floats, so you won’t get that same effect. Pigment pastes are usually made with mica powder, so they will work similarly.
Very beautiful.
Your comments were helpful. Thank you
Thanks for sharing! These are awesome!
Thank you so much for sharing this! 🥰
Awesome!
Absolutely gorgeous I love these ❤️
That is just beautiful, I love the effect and the copper is amazing with the black and white!
Really cool edges. Love them! Your a talented lady for sure! Thank you so much for sharing with me! ❌❌🇮🇪
Thanks!
Beautiful, I especially love how the edges turned out👍👍👍
Me too!
What brand do you use for top coat?
I use Naked Fusion for the top coat as well as the main pour.
Wow 🤩 is it a low viscosity resin ? ❤
No, more of a medium viscosity.
❤Quite pretty!!❤
Thank you! 😊
I loooove these!! I have been trying to conquer this technique with mixed results lol Thanks for sharing!
Great results. Those are beautiful. Thanks hugs Sheryl 💙🎨💙
Those turned out AWESOME 😮😮❤❤❤❤❤ Glad I stumbled upon your channel 😊
Thanks so much! 😊
You did a wonderful job. I like the crackle affect..😊
I love these! The copper is wonderful.
Great job! These turned out great!!
have you ever tried Super Clear? That is what I use and I love it I make all kinds of things with it and have never had a problem. I found it on Amazon, you can get 1 gallon for 64.99 or what I get is 2 gallon bottles for 104.00
I have not! I have a few resins I like. Naked Fusion is my favorite for most projects. I’ve never had issues with it (that weren’t caused by me lol).
They turned out beautiful🙂
These turned out beautiful. I have one question: why do you use both a white mica and a white pigment paste? Can u achieve this look without using the paste? Thank you!
They have different weights, so the spread differently, but you would still get crackles just with mica.
As someone who is currently trying this effect, this video was perfect. Thank you so much. The copper is a fabulous with the other colours
Thank you!
Beautiful 👏🏾👍🏾
Help, I’m lost! I’ve tried this twice and can’t get it to crackle! 😞
Hi Vicky! There are a few things I can think of why it’s not working.
1. Your resin is too thin or too thick. Thin resin just lets everything fall straight to the bottom. Thick resin doesn’t let anything fall deep enough to get crackles.
2. Your resin sat too long or cures too fast. You need to use a resin that cures slowly enough to let the color fall through the clear.
3. Your pigments aren’t heavy enough. Make sure you’re using enough colorant to make them very opaque.
4. Your room is too cold. Cold resin doesn’t move as much while it cures.
5. Your room is too hot. Hot resin cures too fast and doesn’t give enough time for the movement to happen.
I would try a simpler version of this, with just clear and mica. I did a tutorial here: ruclips.net/video/YpGfVwt9glQ/видео.html
Try that and see how it works. If you still don’t get crackling, then I would say to try a different resin. Either Naked Fusion or MAS Art Pro, and make sure your room is 72-75 degrees while you’re working and the resin is curing. I don’t ever warm my resin up first, either. It’s always room temp. So the temperature of your room will make a difference.
Hi there! I love this effect so much! I’ve tried twice now with two different resins and haven’t achieved this at all… so I need to know what resin you’re using on them?
I usually use Naked Fusion Artist's Resin
Really pretty
They turned out great, even the one with the peacock feather!
Thank you!
