Thank you for this tutorial. I have been trying to do a PPT slideshow for my mom's funeral and was feeling overwhelmed by the whole thing. I needed someone to go through this step by step with me; my brain just isn't working like I want it to. Thank you for making it easier.
Oh I'm so glad! It can be such an overwhelming process, emotionally and physically (scanning, taking pictures of pictures, etc). Feel free to email any time at info@newnarrative.ca if we can help ❤
great video with lot's of great tips. As someone you teaches presentation skills for a living, you're great. One tip is to really shorten this down, get to the software within the first 90-120 seconds.
Ugh - PPT used to allow you to add an album that put a picture on each slide. That doesn't seem to exist any more for PPT for Mac (source: I made our wedding slide show 15 years ago on a PC with PPT and it was sooooo easy). I will be using Keynote after all, at least to start because I will have hundreds of pics!
I don't know how the slide show will be shown. The place the event is held at is a pool house and I am not sure if I need to find a projector or bring a TV screen.. I am pretty sure that they don't have a technical area set for this type of thing. ........ what do you suggest ?
trying to add my transitions. When I right click on the first picture, there is no "select all" option. When I just click on "transitions" there is only the one option of time duration, and no check box for "mouse click." I can't get it to play without clicking the mouse.
Hi @susan1098 - Please accept my condolences on hearing about the loss of your sister. Personally, I find that 5 seconds per picture is a good amount. With that logic, you can get 12 photos per 60 seconds. So, if you have around 30 photos, the video will be around 2 -3 minutes. I hope this helps! Don't hesitate to connect with us at support@newnarrative.ca if we can help further ❤
You'd be surprised how fast the slideshow actually goes! In my opinion, if you have many photos, 5s is just enough time to view the photo briefly before moving on. Having lots of musical variety helps as well!
Thank you for coming and watching! Let me know if you found this helpful or what slideshow software you like to use!

Thank you. I am feeling so overwhelmed and this really helped me figure out my first steps.

I’m doing a celebration of life show, but it will be shown on 75” TVs in our clubhouse. Would I still choose “wide screen” for these?

Have you added a few videos mix with photos?
Hello, thanks for the instructions! How would we add music?

You said you were going to give instructions for adding music but you didn't.

Thank you this sounds great but I don't know how to do this
Can you add multiple songs on the slideshow
How long & amount of pictures for a very small memorial . Less than 30. My sister just passed away yesterday. I want to do something special.

10 minutes is too long for a slideshow. only if you are including alot of video.
