For those who don't remember or never played back in the very old days. The "band of adventurers who defeated the demons" are you the players in the old guild party quest.
Have you heard of the tragedy of Captain Darknell? I thought not. It’s not a story those royal knights would tell you. Captain Darknell was once the captain of the royal guard, even became a teacher and protector of one innocent prince. So powerful that he was willing to kill his former comrades to prove his loyalty. How ironic. He could save his kingdom from destruction, but not for himself.
Hey izzy! Thanks for making all these storyline videos! I really love it now that i dont play the new maple, but i am still very interested in all the stories happening in maple, and ur videos are just the kind im looking for! Keep up the good work n thank you!
I mean... Did he just use the stone as a catalyst between the souls of those adventures to revive his comrades or he just corrupted the adventures with the stone? Why was Quieg petrified on the floor with some sort of seal casted by a spell? And what about Ergoth's body over the floor there? It fuses with him, but why? I was wondering... This is a great story btw! Didn't expect the plot twist at the end
To answer your questions: 1. The Black Mage infuses the Rubian with Transcendent powers, allowing for Kellad and his comrades to become fused beings, in order to create eternally loyal minions. The stone was used to combine his comrades' souls with the bodies of the adventurers. The new beings are fusions of the adventurers and the knights, hinted at by their personalities and their names (Mog + Hardin = Mogadin, Khalid + Ain = Khaliain, Juli + Ryan = Jurai, Coleman + Quieg = CQ57, Freya + Ed = Freyd). 2. Not entirely sure, but it was mentioned that Quieg was likely not human, so it may be related to that. 3. Same as #1.
@@pirateizzy Thank you so much for the explanation! Now everything makes sense. I can even hear the duplicated voices of the bosses, confirming that their souls are merged. I'm just wondering about the origin of Quieg, if he's like some sort of humunculus, or even a golem. Thank you so much for uploading the storyline! It really made my day getting to know about it. I've always wanted to know about the past of Sharenian since it's story was frist introduced in the old GPQ. I'm glad they came up with it.
Hey Izzy, or Maple Lorekeeper as I like to call you 😜. First off, thank you so much for work here in the maple community! I just have one question for you: Was the adult version of Sharen IV the White Mage in the beginning? Like, was he actually the WM in the first scene (“It was a warm spring day”) and the scene where they were facing the castle in the sunset? This whole illusion revelation completely threw off my understanding of the timeline-in this case, when did the WM disguise himself as Sharen?
So I'm not entirely sure myself, since the story is incredibly vague on that aspect. My assumption is that Sharen IV was a real person who died to Ergoth, with the White Mage finding out about what occurred and disguising himself at some point. He reappears as Sharen IV's ghost throughout the story to keep egging Kellad on because he saw an opportunity to take advantage of the situation. From what I read on it on Namu (a Korean wiki), it's hinted that the White Mage also disguised himself as Ed near the end when he informs the team that Kelkad possesses the Rubian, likely to sow division within the team. I can definitely believe that at least, since Sharen IV's body is unseen until after the knights are lying dead, and at that point Ed's body isn't present. I've also thought about how Sharen III repeatedly calls his son a bastard child and wondered if it had any relevance to your question, but it's also not unheard of for illegitimate children to exist in monarchies.
PirateIzzy Mmmm yeah, that’s what I thought at first. But I found it incredibly strange how the White Mage was unaffected by Ergoth’s illusion-and more importantly in the end, how he knew about the conversation Kellad and real Sharen IV had in the beginning because WM used Sharen’s exact words (fluttering petal something) to manipulate Kellad. I think I’m reading too much into the little details, honestly. Sorry Izzy, I have just one more question for you. Do we know what Sharen III wanted to do with the Rubian? And also, why was he interested in dark demon-summoning magic?
@@abeamut1080 Like I said, the part with Sharen IV is incredibly vague, all we can do is speculate. As for Sharen III, the Rubian was said to have the power to grant eternal life as well as bring back the dead, which led to a lot of people coveting its power. Sharen III likely wanted to use it to live forever (much like King Hekaton in Morass's story), and was prepared to guard the Rubian by any means necessary, even summoning a demon to protect it. Doing so inadvertently led to the fall of Sharenian, however, and even in the older storylines related to Sharenian (namely Guild PQ), he admits that summoning Ergoth was a mistake.

Your powers are weak old man
If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine
It's over, Ryan! I have the high ground!
How tragic! I love this story

Wait! in the end every became Villians? which will be devastated later. How brutal

@@felipepena9405 No problem. They hint at Quieg being a homunculus / automaton during the part at 24:38, but that's the only explanation that's given.
@@pirateizzyI legit thought he just got burnt to a crisp, and MS was seriously showing his smoking corpse on-screen.
