- This is a highly subjective ranking of bosses in maplestory, including will, damien, gloom, verus hilla, lucid, lotus, darknell, and black mage. I cover the 8 bosses that I think are the easiest to the hardest in difficulty. Obviously, I left Seren out because I haven't experienced her yet. What do you guys think? Do you agree/disagree? If you disagree, what is your list like?

Just from my own experiences, Seren atm mechanics wise is probably the hardest content in the game rn, regardless of Damage Requriement. The one factor being that you party can insta die if you fail a test, very similar to will, and be severely punished for failing it, makes it the hardest boss for me. I'd also say the hardest boss to solo is definitely hwill, but in a party comp hdark/cgloom would probably be the hardest mechanics wise.
Yeah pretty much. I cant speak for seren since I havent done it yet, but fingers crossed.
I think seren solo is the hardest one since in seren u have to basiclly do everything in perfect, everytime you do a mistake, its gonna cost you a life.

Bm as a party I agree with but if you’re soloing it can be a lot more challenging especially if u have to spend a good chunk of time in p1 and don’t just bind and burst it
If you spend more than 5 mins in P1, you won't be able to kill all 4 phases in time. You have to kill p1 within 2 burst cycles, or you're screwed

i come back to maple some months ago and not playing hard but took my kaiser to 11m range clean you think i can do lucid or hilla ?
btw i need to practice a lot i have 0 knowledge about them i tried damien and failed xD cuz what to dodge or when to atk
If you can't do damien, you cant do lucid or hilla. I think if you want a 6 man normal lucid party, you can get away with 20k STR

I can solo crimson balrog on the orbis ship and that thing is really tough. Zakum is definitely the hardest boss though. There’s a level 137 dexless hermit in my guild that soloed him in 53 minutes 42 seconds

Can't believe Gloom is higher on the rank than Lotus. Gloom doesnt cheese as much as long as you time your darkness
i'm not strong enough for black mage so i can't say myself but that placement definitely seems like a hot take, most people think it's the hardest boss in the game. im a little surprised by will being so high, ik you meant it in a solo context but that seems strange. personally i would do something like
1. damien
2. lucid
3. will
4. vhillla
5. gloom
6. lotus
7. darknell
will p3 is so cancer though, if you dont dodge enough, you're basically not going to be doing any damage to him
bm is punishing to people who don’t know the fight. If you just try to react on the spot, you can end up losing multiple lives in a row. however, I don’t think it’s a hot take among people who’ve cleared the boss a couple of times that bm is on the easy side. Once you develop good habits and know how to do damage without griefing, it’s a relatively straightforward fight that’s very forgiving cause you have 12 lives.
as for will, your placement makes sense if it’s 3+ people. the boss is quite easy. Solo will with low-medium damage is among the hardest content in the game. The closer you are to a minimum damage solo, the more perfect you have to play. For example, in lotus you can die 4 times, but if you clutch it up on your last life, it’s still a clear. For will solo, if you die before web out in p3, not only are you one life down, you also lose the damage you couldve done with resistance link after web out. This makes it so that EVERY life and mistake matters. Additionally, in p2 and p3 you really want to dodge as much of the random shit you normally don’t think twice about. Every leg, every red pellet should be dodged. Lastly in p1, you need to keep track of the timer for test, and keep track of how it changes after every test.
Obviously, the second you can do enough damage to will where you no longer rely on resistance link, will solo becomes way easier and more forgiving.
Hard Will is super hard solo. In parties isn't mechanically demanding except for P2 until you get moonlight.
Update: I agree he is the hardest boss to solo. P3 is pure torture unless you can cheese or overkill.

Lvl 245 Kaiser here! Once you know Hellux’s mechanics I would rank him below Damien tbh
I think swap lotus and gloom but other than that pretty on the nose. Also darknell is magnus on Crack
good list but I would put Pierre n1
I was aiming at mostly end game boss but yeah pierre and hmag can both be a bitch if you dont have the damage

I never knew the blue orb in damien decreased damage. No wonder i was doing 100m lines on hdamien today
45k shad here. I can solo hlucid, and even cgloom. I’ve pretty much solo’ every bosses at their appropriate damage range. But I still can’t beat Hwill. His 3p is cancer af.
Thats why I put him so high lol. People who say hwill p3 is easy has either 1) never solo'd him, 2) never solo'd him at mediocre damage.

6 months into reboot i solo'd hwill at 39k stats with no ror or boss fams
Remember Damien use to be broken.
even then, it was very easy - you just had to be more patient and not run after him right after his dashes/dives

but yea, P3 still annoying as fk though, no different than a dmg check like P3 lucid but this time u have to do it while dodging a bunch of shitty things
i would never solo black mage, gloom and darknell though haha, i will solo all the BM lackeys just because the liberation require it, still got a long time to go, only lv 265 now
Yeah p1 is a lot easier now, but p3 is still a shit show if you got bare minimum damage. You basically have to dodge everything or get full webbed within 3 mins.

Lmfao. There are others worse than damien for sure (like cpap), but this is more so from the perspective of end game bosses.

Damien is placed at #1 for being the EASIEST boss of the bunch.
I said damien and BM are both EASIER than lotus.
I would say black mage is definitely easier than lotus. A lot less RNG you have that will screw you over. BM solo took me less than 20 tries at 45 mins+ of a solo, whereas back then, lotus solo took over 50 attempts for 20 min solos. Of course, this was a time when kaisers and most other classes did not have up jump and blink, so if you break a platform, and that was the only one that spawned. You're dead. If you have one platform and he drops a truck on your head during laser, you're also.... dead. Or if he was coming your way and smacks you off your platform, you're also... dead. So remind me again how lotus is EASIEST? Please, go ahead. Entertain me :)
I'm having more trouble not dying in p2 Damien than any of Lotus's 3 phases (normal difficulty)

coming back, I almost never die to normal Lotus on any of my mules and die like once to damien on at least one mule, but hdam is a joke compared to hlotus... Still struggling with hlotus but hdam deathless on main.

They really need to go back and take a look at these fights and actually balance them. I finally get up to some of these bosses and I realize that the bossing experience is fucking awful in this game. Lucid is like the only reason I wanted to get up to a certain point in the game. its fucking stupid that most bosses have shit that just fall down from the ceiling literally constantly. it makes it really hard to recommend this game on top of the awful time it takes to get there
yea i agree the devs a re really braindead but they wont change anything bc the players are even more braindead with no lives outside of maplestory so they just practice fighting the bossses for 8 hours a day
