Awesome product, was wondering if their 575 model would fit also. It does need a little more juice to do the 50 watts??

The 575 is compatible. Power is fine for the 50 watts. The oversized mic still fits in the mic pocket.

A single band GMRS would not be referred to as a shack in a box. That's a term more for something like a IC-7100 or the like, all modes, all bands generally. Along the same lines not many folk would show you to their radio shack is they had just a single GMRS rig. It would just be a part of a room not the purpose of a room unless you're just the guy with lots of extra rooms.
