      You guys sell the diy solutions boot kit for this axle on your website, diy solutions is the original boot that toyota used, is there a way for me to buy your cv axle with the diy solutions boots installed on them? I keep going through the aftermarket axle because that inner boot keeps ripping

    You don't have to remove knuckle to remove the axle, just remove two bolts from lca and move it away

    Nice video, but my spindle nut was 35mm. Also, a sharpened flat blade or small sharp chisel will do a lot less damage to the dust cap.

    I did my FJ and didn’t remove half the stuff this guy did. Took me two hours. There’s better videos where you get the same results but in less time.

      Hey Greg, do you mind linking which videos you are talking about? I have to do this to replace my boots soon. Thanks!

      True, but this segment appears to be one of several videos where he is replacing multiple parts on the front end at the same time. We can see at the point when he is reassembling everything, we have a new axle, new seals, new wheel bearing, new brake caliper and rotor, new anti-sway bar link, and possibly a new spring, shock absorber, upper control arm, and upper ball joint. At one point, even the gravel shield disappears, so he’s gone ahead and removed that part, too. 🙂

    35mm for the axle nut on mine. And the new ones were 35mm. Not 36mm.... so if u have to buy a socket, you might want to measure yours. But i dont think any of the fj's used a 36 for the axle nut.

    If you're not getting a replacement part from A1, take your used part with you to the auto parts store as some available may have a smaller diameter shaft and not built Heavy Duty like the Original ones from the Factory.

    It definitely looks like you had difficulty putting the new shaft in the differential. How long did it actually take? I’m having trouble with mine as well. Mine is an 08 tundra which looks very similar.

    You're way better off just rebuilding/rebooting and regreasing the stock axles. I've gone through 3 different aftermarket CVs on my FJ. Toyota uses stronger steel than any aftermarket option.

    Nice work, are these 1AAuto parts 100% made & assembled in the USA? Do you have a branch in Canada by any chance? Thanks

    ⛔️WARNING!!! Do NOT remove the UCA castle nut before removing the nuts on the bottom of the knuckle if you aren’t using an air gun. You will loose all leverage and be totally stuck.

    Don't wedge a pry bar in between the screws like he does at the 22min mark. You'll mar your threads and have to replace the stud.

    I just want for my 2007 fj cruiser 2 Wheel drive to replace my original shocks for a better conforble
    Ride on regular roads. I was told Ranchos are good fit but I don't know which one for the front & back. What specific shocks,( i guess package or kit & comes with strats & spring coils) affordable purchase do you recommend ? Only the shocks?

    That internal clip from the internal axle splines that goes inside the differential seems really iffy to me. How does it not bend or break when pounding it in?

      They are ALL like that. Every single manufacturer since CV axles were invented. Just the way it is! It's actually hard to remove it from the transmission.

    Is it typical go have a gap after installing an aftermarket CV axle? I swapped both seals and axle and found some drips of oil and a gap.

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  3 года назад +1

      +Brian Morejon Thanks for checking us out! There may be a small amount of play to allow for movement but if it is leaking oil and a noticeable gap then that should not be like that. We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. It may be there is something causing the new axles to not seat fully. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c

    • @SharkyBalboa
      @SharkyBalboa 3 года назад

      @@1AAuto thanks for the quick response! I ask because I notice once you had the axle inside you had the same amount of gap approximately so I’m just trying to determine whether there is something not letting it sit like you mentioned, or maybe it was just residual oil from the change making it’s way down.

    Ahh yes the screw driver is the most misused tool in existence. A wedge, prybar, chisel, splitter, scraper, a electrical shorting stick, weapon, cleaning cobwebs, poking tight spaces, and lastly being a screw driver.

      How did you access / remove the axle without removing the tie rod? Seems like you wouldn’t be able to get the shafts out of the knuckle or the diff. Doing mine this weekend. If I can eliminate steps it’d be great. I just replaced my tie rods, and I def don’t want to compromise them if I can avoid it.
