    Kudos for another great offering Harlan, albeit you lost me with that tightrope walk.. too much vertigo in this body to keep it a safe venture for me.
    Stunning views though, I never grow tired of that.
    Cheers

      Thanks Benevolent Backpacker! It's a bit of a narrow ridge although only on the CRUX. The other sections are fairly wide. No pressing issues on the rest of the ridge. The views never do dissappoint!

    Nice to see another video, I am sure you were eager to do some scrambling. Good to see what I would encounter on the ridge. Will add it to my list, which keeps growing. Tried Mt. Edith back in June, a bit confusing near the top, will summit next time. Thanks.

      Saskatoon scrambler ....Definitely add it to your list. I have Edith on my list for August. Hopefully I can navigate it from Cory Pass.

    #Harlan Fox. Great video. I especially like your descent coverage, because no one ever shows this. In my modest experience the descent is the more difficult part, esp on the technical sections. So thanks. 😊

      Thanks Matthew! Usually coming down a tough section can be more intimidating. Glad the video was useful.. Cheers!

    Hi Harlan! Which one do you think is harder, Mount Rae, Baldy Traverse or The Wedge? I guess Baldy is probably the easiest one among them but not so sure 😊

    • @HarlanFox--Scrambles
      @HarlanFox--Scrambles  2 года назад +1

      .. Depends if you are doing Baldy West or not. It is the hardest. Likely due to sustained exposure I would pick Rae. The Wedge just has one section basically.

    I didn't do the ridge, I went up half way the ridge - one of the dumbest climbs I've ever done. Made it to the ridge and turned left and reached the summit just to be hit by a lightning storm shortly after. Luckily found the descent route on the South side right away. The thunder was so loud. Cheers, good video.

      Adrian Calgary ...Well that would definitely make it a different and scary climb Adrian. Its sure fun when nice though.

    • @AdrianCalgary
      @AdrianCalgary 6 лет назад +1

      It sure was. I had no idea what was above me at the last meters. BTW, I was looking forward for you zooming on Fisher Peak or the valley below it in this video. I guess your zoom is not too good anyway, you're using only a helmet action cam? No photos towards Fisher Pk? I plan to attempt it next week.

    • @HarlanFox--Scrambles
      @HarlanFox--Scrambles  6 лет назад

      Adrian Calgary ....Ya I had thought about Fisher and then it left my mind once I started the CRUX. LOL! My pics and video are limited to a Gopro Hero 4 and a Samsung s8.

    • @AdrianCalgary
      @AdrianCalgary 6 лет назад

      Harlan Fox did you turned around once you hit the crux on Fisher peak?

    • @HarlanFox--Scrambles

      Adrian Calgary .. No sorry I meant I only did The Wedge.

  • @Yuri-rl5il
    @Yuri-rl5il 5 лет назад +1

    Is the left route up the north face (that bypasses the crux) anymore difficult or steep than the route to the false summit? Great video Harlan!

    • @HarlanFox--Scrambles
      @HarlanFox--Scrambles  5 лет назад

      Thanks again!...Well if you're talking about when you head up the North Face of the Wedge and I took a more climber's left approach than a climber's right approach. I saw others on the RH side. It didnt look too bad but I didnt do that part. My guess is it wouldn't be too bad at all.

  • @Ob1tus187
    @Ob1tus187 6 лет назад +1

    You can completely avoid the crux for the true summit? Might have to add this to my list for next year, but exposure does scare me... My fiance made this scramble sound insane haha. Great video!

    • @HarlanFox--Scrambles
      @HarlanFox--Scrambles  6 лет назад +1

      Ob1tus187 ....Yes, if you go up the middle of the north side of the summit block then you will end up east of the Crux and can just walk to the true summit. CRUX is optional.

  • @wyllianottz4382
    @wyllianottz4382 6 лет назад +1

    Hey man congratulation for your video.
    The crux part seemed very dangerous. you had to be very cold blood.
    How is the condition of that rock, is it enough tough to fix climbing clips?
    The big wall calls us to climbing on straight it up!!

    • @HarlanFox--Scrambles
      @HarlanFox--Scrambles  6 лет назад +1

      WYLLIAN OTTZ ....Well I don't think you need clips. The crux is difficult as far as a rating goes but if you come up the middle of the north side you don't even have to do the Crux in order to summit. You just walk to the east. Cheers!

      @@dhruvbrahmbhatt112 Not really. That will only get you to the parking lot. If you want exact directions you would need a GPS and a track to download to give you the exact route.
