That is such a great idea. I was wondering why you were painting it but that makes complete sense.
The Florida sun is brutal on plastic.
Definitely need something with quail. I made some contraptions to put the feed in, but still had a lot of waste. I had them on ground tractors and my free rangers cleaned up after them when I moved the cages every day.
Yes our chickens clean up the waist from the quail.
What size opening for the birds to feed from?? Did I miss where you said that??thank you

A little. But I need to do some tweaking to the design still. Not working as good as I hoped.
This design will not work as the feed will not reach the 3rd and 4th hole. It will end at the first or 2nd hole. To solve this, instead of a L shape, you need to make a U shape feeder. With the U shape, you got feed going down both tube on both side.
We found that. We had to give it a good shake once or twice a day.
Simple physics tell me that the feed will not reach the last hole unless you shake it. And when you shake it it will over flow the first hole. Am I right. I’m sure it’ll work but not a good design. It’ll probably work better if you put the tee and 2 holes on each side. So the feed wouldn’t have to travel so far. 👍🏼
You do have to give it a shake to get it to the last hole. But it doesn’t over flow the first holes.
Great job with that feeder. Where did you get that PVC glue? I've never seen a clear one before.😲

what are the problems with that old feeder at 14:52? I was going to use that design.
Nothing was wrong with them they actually work pretty darn good. But I was trying out other designs to see how they work. This design worked OK. But the first design that you mentioned. Actually work better for me.
