Guys every router has different ip addresses and dns. So kindly before doing this please check what's the starting address of IP addresses pool. For example is this video i used - Binatone router with ip starting from 192.168.0.100-255 And i have another router with starting address 172.168.0.0-255. So kindly check for your router
I think if your router's IP range starts with 192.168.1.X, then you can just change the last subgroup from 1 to 255 and not all the four subgroups as you said in the video at 01:50. So there is Maximum Value only for the last subgroup.

Guys.. Listen 1# on your router check the small hole call *Reset* press it with something. 2# restart your phone same time. 3# router ready? press the push button (wifi protected setup) on your router . Press the' WPS push button' on your PHONE same time. Try it.
great work as I for some reason forgot about static as it has been a while since using but you should also let the person know they have to be Admin and change what type of connection your wireless router is sending to device..so if anyone cares after changing your phone ip then go to your home wireless router and change your device from DHCp to static or reserved ip some routers call it that all the same good luck

Same and no it is not my phone company. If I hardwire to my laptop my tethering is perfect no problems but as soon as I use a wireless hotspot for my ps4 it keeps disconnecting . it never used to do this but has done last couple of months using my android phone. So annoying

It works, Thankyou, but a little extra step as well. Instead of typing in a random IP, first connect your WiFi in the normal non-static way. Once connected, you'll get a random IP assigned to you by the router. You have to find out that IP, you can do it from the "about phone" tab in settings next to IMEI etc. Now use this very IP as your static IP. This worked seamlessly for me. Thanks to the Indian Geeks for the video. Please incorporate this point in the description if necessary.
for those who's having issues try downloading a different browser from the play store. i been having this problem for a little while and after watching a bunch of pointless videos i downloaded a different browser and the problem was solved. if you want to screw your phone up then you can watch this video. so far as i can tell this is a Chrome issue which Google havent addressed yet. so dont freak out and start doing stupid shit to your phone. My wifi times out. It doesn't show any wifi. It all happened after I updated my android. It used to be able to connect, but asked me to put in the password manually everytime. Now it doesn't connect at all anymore.
Is it just me or could this be a hacker--everyone is changing the settings as he is advising so it is a bit strange that it does not work-he advises show password ,change IP address---no no no. I went to my provider and they were worried and assisted me and hey now I am connected so I do not think anyone should do this ----proceed with care!

dont give this ip address 192.168.1.1 use any value from 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.255 .. like you can use 192.168.1.20 . it works for me ... dont give 192.168.1.1

you can try to go to your router and go to your wifi settings you will see an option called Devices then click on your device name go to configure look for use the same ip adress for this device click on it and done your wifi will get connected to your device

What happens with me is i put the password in it says connecting... then Saved and just stays like that and wont connect, i turned the wifi on and off forgot the network like 4 times, and i put it on airplane mode, and turned it off, restarted my phone, and still no wifi and I turned the router on and off, and it still wont connect, I left the house to go to the pool, and it was charging, and I started scrolling through my instagram and all of a sudden it disconnected me from the wifi and all my other stuff is connected to the wifi

Canel there are a limited number of Ip addresses available in router I.e 192.168.1.1 - 192.168.1.255 so there are total 244 addresses which u can select from. When the phone is stuck at authentication error then its not the problem with the phone it's u r router it is taking to much time to provide an IP address to u r device . So by this method u r directly putting IP by urself.So the time is saved as u are taking a selective ip.If this method dosn't work try changing IP.It works for me evertime

Ashwani try changing the IP address or your router may have different gateway such as 172.6.1.8 instead of that 192.168.1.1

just enter the corresponding ip address of your wifi. 192.168.1.1 is his IP address provided by his ISP...hope it helps
