  • Over the 4th of July Weekend, our good friends Tina and Adam came out to visit Cindy and I and being that we just got our Jeep JL Wrangler outfitted with an all new EVO High Clearance Long Arm System and King Coilovers, we decided to use the opportunity to take it out and put it to the test. Fortunately, we have big rocks just down the street and it didn't take long for us to get all twisted up. In this short video, you'll get to see how our JL performed and we hope you enjoy what you see.

    This flex test with slow rock crawl shows how the lift and different suspension components work and complement each other to keep the suspension geometry in symmetry to the power plant. Learnt a lot and understood why a long control arm is required for such a lift, Thanks Eddie, yet another great video!

    • @wayalife
      @wayalife  5 лет назад +1

      Suspension wise, we are now running an EVO high clearance long arm system with their 2.5 King bolt-on coilovers. For steering, we're running Synergy. Regarding how it drives on pavement goes, the long arms alone make both ride outstanding and we have our coilovers dialed in to make it better than stock or at least, in our opinion.

    Can you give us the details on the setup you have with the coil overs? We are about to do one on a JKU

    • @wayalife
      @wayalife  3 года назад +1

      It should be noted that the bolt on coilovers for a JL is a LOT different than the JK one. The one for the JK is nice but the amount of travel you get overall and especially in the rear isn't as great as what you see on the JL.

    Awesome flex! Working my way up to coils eventually. Quick question ; why the tire change? Just installed 37 STT’s. Haven’t run anything yet, next month Holy Cross. Your vids with the Coopers, were some of my research.

      watch the video a few back when they install long arms and coil overs. i’m pretty sure he went from a 13.5 to a 12.5 for fitment issues

      @Bad Karma what Bryce Weinell said. We were experiencing rubbing issues with 13.50's and needed to run 12.50's to help mitigate them. At the time, EVO had a set of Trail Grapplers on hand.

    i AM surprized you dont have a rear bumper!! A nice short one tucked into the rear would of saved that rear corner. Otherwise your rig is working very well, impressed with the travel of those coilover shocks. CHEERS Steve h.

    Those coil-overs have really improved the overall flex in a big way. Like you said though, that false sense of security does come at a cost, i.e. body damage, oooops! Now is a good time for some corner plating maybe?

    Great vid. I still don't know how you go from Moby with 40's and a V8 to a Jeep that is less than that. Not to say the JL isn't well equipped as its built way further than most. I think this is the first time I have seen you have any damage. I have always loved that your builds are so well done that you are never the one breaking down. I say this is a minor thing and on something like a Nitto experience it wouldn't have even made the video. I have done worse backing into a parking stall.

    • @wayalife
      @wayalife  5 лет назад +1

      Well, Moby is still our favorite LOL. As far as damage goes, you need to look back at some of our other JL videos. We've hit our b-pillar down low and both rear corners as well. We showed all of this too. We just always make sure to fix our damage :)

    Great video, time for the JL to get some more armor!! Beautiful shots. I was thinking of ask you to compare between Moby and your JL, but it's hard to choose between kids. Do you think you'll do an engine swap on the JL or is it not needed for extra power?

    • @wayalife

      @@wayalife Yeah I have a JK I am going to keep for a few more years and wish I could do something for more power.
