Certainly China, As Mike pence said history will be written by the people who can go there , and has THE COMMITMENT TO STAY THERE.
US doesn't have the commitment, just look at the virgin galactic launch and see how people were like "why go to space bruh?".

SpaceX has highlighted how NASA has been ripped off by other companies up to now. The only way NASA will match China is if they out spend them ten fold. NASA needs to make each dollar stretch further rather than brute force everything.

Not sure if you have a video on that already, but I thought I would mention just in case you needed one more request of this type to make that video happen. My favorite channel so far BTW. Cheers! PS, China would win if it weren't for SpaceX. SpaceX has the vision and potential monetary backing (TSLA and Starlink) that will force the US to the forefront kicking and screaming. In any case, I am still hopeful that we can achieve a future closer to Star Trek than The Expanse.

The only reason why China is advancing so far and fast in space exploration (but also in most areas of the technological sphere) is because China has not squandered trillions of dollars on all those stupid endless wars thru out the world. Also because China spends their limited resources very wisely on education, providing a completely free college education for all its citizens, meanwhile here in America our politicians are still arguing as to whether we can actually afford to subsidize college to those who are supposedly "too rich".
A wise philosopher once opined, "If you think education is expensive, try ignorance".

It's a lot easier to do when you have a society where the government controls the corporations rather than the corporations controlling the government. This is why China's people have a government which plans hundreds of years in the future on their behalf while the best Americans and those under their corporate empire can hope for is for billionaires, who care only about their own egos and profit, to save us. China was rejected by EU to participate in their Galileo satellite positioning system, despite having paid a handsome sum of money. China was willing to use the US GPS, until US shut down its GPS during a PLA missile test, causing their missiles to go astray. Then, A Chinse cargo ship went astray in the Indian Ocean for 9 days, again due to a shut down of GPS. US Navy then boarded the ship searching for goods that US claimed were banned or embargoed.......US made an enemy out of herself.

Most of that was done as a response, to their theft of hundreds of billions of dollars in industrial espionage on every western country, their support of every genocide and dictatorship since in the late 80s and 90s e.g., Gaddafi, Saddam, Robert Mugabe, the military dictatorship in Burma, north Korea etc. Their attempts and threat of invading Taiwan, their annexation of Tibet, their crushing of Hong Kong autonomy, their violation and theft of the islands of south China sea. Their support of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan and Iran, their invention in a lab of covid-19, their support of drug cartel to bring fentanyl across the us-border. etc. etc. etc. The west literally integrated China to the global economy under bill Clinton for heaven's sake its only once China started a genocide in Xingang and their neo-colonialism in Africa through the belt-and-road initiative in 2015 that governments released that this despotism needs to be countered and fought.

After China finishes the construction of the original design which contains Tianhe core module and two experimental modules totalling of about 70 tons, they will expand it at a second stage by sending up the double of the original three modules with improvements based on the usage of those already in the sky. As a Chinese, we have not been aware of this program you have discussed, at least in next couple of decades, the reason is simple, that the choices of food on the moon would be too limited, that is not acceptable for Chinese foodies. I wish you could come to China and observe the daily life of Chinese, eat is always the top topic troubling ordinary Chinese every day, not because of scarcity of food, but too much choices against limited stomach capacity and difficulty in decision making. I used to eat beef burgers everyday for supper for 3 months in a row when i was study in UK, because I didn't have many choice out there, but nowadays, I have developed difficulty in decision making, too much choices on takeaway apps, all fresh and delicious (some maybe weird for certain people). Chinese people loves fresh grown and freshly cooked vegetables and meat, not preserved food in cans or vacuumed plastic bags, apparently the moon base could not be able to produce those fresh food everyday, no need to mention those regional delicacies, a long term habitation without variety of fresh cooked food choices would be intolerable to Chinese people.

There is an irony in space Race 2.0 with China and America. In space race 1.0 between the Soviet Union and America the Soviet Union was always cast in a light of being unable to focus its resources properly because of an inept political system. Approximately 45 years later going (returning) to the moon is again a goal in the space race. However now it is America that cannot focus its superior technical and industrial resources to keep the Artemis program on schedule while China is slowly but steadily moving forward. In addition, private space companies with much less resources than NASA are showing that they can do more (much more) with less money than NASA… even though NASA has the scientific and industrial potential of the mighty U.S. government backing it.

That helicopter is great and I'm glad to see it got off the ground. Mars' atmosphere is so thin I had strong doubts about its ability to do so. It will work better in thicker atmospheres. On Mars it can probably barely lift itself even when constructed of the lightest materials. Nevertheless, that could still have some utility.

I would cheer on China if they are the first of humanity to build a base on the moon. Maybe this will light a fire under America's butt to stop letting bureaucracy get in the way! Also, we need to include a few moral facilities to keep all personal motivated and content. This can be both internet and or a building that allows a moon base basketball court (so much fun). Standard items like a sprinkler-type system that forces foam in the air to stop and plug all holes in each facility. An automated factory that functions as a 3-D printer with options to chose 5 different materials. Here is a weird thought, what do we call it when the internet is beamed solar system-wide? Maybe SSWW (solar system-wide wed). The difficult part is there may need to be like 5 bases for SSWW because while there is just a second or so time lag from the Earth to the moon. After this lags get pretty serious. Mars is about 24 Minutes + or - 8 Minutes. Jupiter and her moons on the other hand are around 45 minutes + or - 10 minutes from Earth. Since we can not speed up the speed of light, there will have to be different segments to the SSWW much like we have time zones here on Earth. As in time zones, we can say: March 31, 2045, Earth UTC time: 2155 (2247 Local Gesenymade time)

This time what went on in Vegas will not stay in Vegas!!
I met both Britney Spears and Elon Musk early in 2000 at Bellagio. She just stared at me as she was singing on stage and I was standing in an archway above and nearby. A few days later he came up to me and started asking me questions about what I was doing there, in Hawaii and Las Vegas during that time and if I was a gambling man? I stated, "I was on vacation and I only like to bet on things that are worth betting on!" I had earned these trips by qualifying reward points at my work. He asked, "What kind of work is it that you do?" I said, "Commercial energy saving promotions but I had been schooled in Automotive Marketing Business Administration and worked in that field for several years as well." He asked me, "If I had millions of dollars to spend what would be the most innovative businesses that could help humanity?" We talked about electric cars, we talked about solar energy and so many other subjects for over an hour. Even commercial space exploration for the consideration of colonization. That way all of humanity's eggs are not in one basket in case of of another world war, asteroid strike, major climate change, etc. These we're very expensive and ambitious businesses to become successful at. Therefore we had to talk about ways of keeping a low overhead in advertising, distribution and the manufacturing. He said, "They were all very good ideas and that they should be done!" He said he had already made hundreds of millions off of a couple internet companies he started. "One of them was PayPal," he stated. Not that I had really done a lot of online banking or e-transfers at that time I didn't think much of it, until I noticed online about a year later that I could buy something off the computer with my PayPal card! Unfortunately I had just received a promotion as regional manager with the company I was working with. This made me let Elon know that I had to wait for a few years before I could assist further. I keep on sending out messages, hoping that he will get one and reply back. I will probably have to keep on trying, he gets more messages in a day then I would in five years! It is very inspiring to me to have a conversation with someone and they dedicate the next 20 years to making our conversation reality! We also talked about becoming your own best supplier and starting businesses that help your existing business. A type of slingshot effect that he has incorporated very well. It is so ambitious and amazing that he was willing to put pretty much all of his money where his mouth is and just make it happen with a consistent dedication. Congratulations Elon and I am looking forward to working with you again, one day in the near future! And of course Britney I always wish her well and would enjoy meeting her again as well! Shoot for the Moon then Mars and then we will end up amongst the Stars! If you would like to learn more of these topics let me know.

China should thank USA for their current amazing Space programmes that include landing and returning from the Far Side of the Moon, Orbiter/Lander/Rover on Mars, and now their very own Space Station. By USA refusing China to join in the ISS program, China was forced to go alone.
China can independently launch their OWN satellites, their own Tiakonauts to space, launch Planetary Rockets, etc. without constraint by other Countries. In the meantime, USA has had to abandon their Space Shuttle because it was too costly and dangerous to run, resulting them paying Russia passenger seats for over 10 years on the Russian Rockets just to go to the ISS and now they're paying a private Entrepreneur in Elon Musk. Also, after all this time in banning China from the ISS, USA still do NOT have their own Space Station.

All of this was going on in the 1950s, up until the mid 1960s when Soviets had some falling out with China and stopped sharing Nuclear Tech...
Similar thing happened in Chinas space program... Actually the Chinese space program is pretty much a clone of the Soviet Space program... So in the 1990s, after the collapse of the USSR, China was able to buy a LOT of technology from Ukraine and Russia... information that was sold to China was actually sold ILLEGALLY... later on around 2002 Russia sold officially some tech to China, a lot of late 1980's and early 1990s tech related to Space Suits... Also, China acquired Soyuz space capsule technical documentation some time in early 1990s after USSR collapse... thats actually the reason Chinas Shenzhou space capsule looks almost identical to SOYUZ... there are obviously a LOT of differences, simply because China needed to replicate the tech using its own technological base and decided to modify systems based on what made sense to them... but overall, China is following the Soviet space program's KEY TECHNOLOGY ACQUISITION STAGES very very closely...
In terms of Chinese rockets, some of their rockets are based on US designs some are Soviet inspired... but mostly its CHINESE developed, but with LOTS of Inspiration from Soviet and American rockets...
I think China will be able to get to the point where they will branch out into its own Space Tech evolutionary tree around 2030's.

This whole space race, politicizing space travel is absurd. This is more about the development of human kind and our journey to the stars.

30 seconds in "China has been off doing their own thing and going it alone." They have already done multiple collaborations including Double Star. (Working with ESA) Another example is Yinghuo-1 which was launched through the russian phobos-grunt mission which failed to leave orbit. They have also been very public about joint moon base ventures with russia and other partners so sadly the title just seems like click bait.

There is no "Dark side" of the moon. Night lasts two weeks. If you want to say "night side", that might be okay. BUT, what China was exploring with the Yutu 2 Rover and the Chang'e 4 lander wasn't the night side, it was the FAR side. (Think Gary Larson). This is a common mistake, and I get tired of correcting it, but someone has to.

Depends on which nation is working on the Moon; If the USA is on the other saide of the Moon it will invariably be known as the "Far Side" of the Moon, but if China/Russia are working on the other side of the moon, it's always refers to as the "Dark Side" of the Moon.

Why, so it will tahe 4 times as long? Of course cooperation is good, but obviously smaller programs can move faster & be more innovative than gigantic multi-national efforts.

@The Space Race, You claimed in the video that you feel race is good. But if any race should end up being one like what the US and Canada have just performed in front of the entire world in the past almost 3 years with kidnapping the daughter of the founder of and the CFO of Huawei, while some Donald claimed that perhaps he could step in with that Huawei CFO thing in the trade negotiation between the US and China, making use of the Ms. Meng Wanzhou being kidnapped and detained by Canadian Royal regime in behest of the US regime, where a brand new maxim has been advanced by the US and Canada -- "If you can't beat them, kidnap the daughter of the founder of the rival company. (And forget about "If you can't beat them, join them (sorta like cooperation/collaboration) )," then what kind of race would you celebrate as good?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
(P.S. As of Sep 25, 2021, Ms. Meng has just been freed from Canada and brought back to her motherland by the state-chartered plane of China, which flew over the North Pole, to eliminate any chances of being done upon whatever by the US regime in case it was within the air space where the US could do something like what Barack something did with drones to murder his citizen without any due process over thousands of miles away, apparently because he had been granted the privilege to do so by the Nobel Peace Prize!!!)
As a counterpart to your disclaimer: I am not affiliated with the US, China, or Canada, by any means or in any fashion. So I couldn't care any less about the sh*tty politics among these three, or 2 1∕100, superpowers.
